Don't worry, people play as Zelda all the time!

I just hope people don't get turned off by the game because you don't play as Adol. The game is extremely fun so don't let that small fact turn you off to Origins.
I'd like to know how you'd play as Ys anyway. Do you control a murdering island that flies around slamming onto cities or something?Bu... bu... bu... I can't play as Ys, man...
They may be misreporting the resolution, as 1400x1050 is what I use and it's correct. I tried a custom one for 16:9 but the GeForce just screws it up.hmmm my gtx 460 can't seem to understand 'fixed aspect ratio' =/
hmmmm.

After Ys II even that wouldn't apply. I wonder how many games let you play as a land mass?I'd like to know how you'd play as Ys anyway. Do you control a murdering island that flies around slamming onto cities or something?
You'd be surprised. That sentiment seems a lot more common that I'd have expected from fans of the series, comparing it to playing Zelda without Link. Why would anyone care about this? Adol has no personality at all, he's just a bland anime dude with red hair.

Was pretty fun to make.
That's how it was for me on Normal. I can't even imagine doing this on Hard. I pretty much won most of the boss fights one/a few hits away from death.Playing on hard mode is sweet. There are parts of boss battles where you're like "OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD DON'T HIT ME" and you clench your butt cheeks because that's how your body automatically responds to great games.

Question: How do you get the legacy pervert achievement? I was told I had to do something while i escorted Elena back from the docks.
Wyrdwad said:Legacy Pervert... well, here's a hint. This is a rather perverted easter egg you can get during an escort mission in newer versions of Ys I:

Try applying that to Felghana, and you might just get the Legacy Pervert achievement.

That's where I got the hint from. Ive pushed her into different corners but nothing.
Okay, so i am playing Hard Mode.
Guilen: (Fire Dragon) - If he/she head-butts you after coming out of the lava pit, it goes right back into the pit to do it again. If you are good at dodging it, it wont be a problem.
Gyalva: (Fire Bird) - He/She does not come down to your level anymore. There are now a top and bottom row of tiles as well. Prepare for a long ugly fight. At least it was for me. Dodging its attacks is no problem, but the wind attack does so little damage. Maybe I am doing it wrong.

I literally just got this.
Basically, when you escort her from the docks, go to the save point right in front of Redmont. Now, get Elena between the save point and the cliff to the left so she's not able to move. And just like... run into her.
Which is how I molest most girls, come to think of it.
What I'd like to know is what kind of existing hook they used to implement that.
So when the heck does one escort. I never even knew we could. Also, I noticed that I didn't get a 1/6 for escorting Elena on Normal Still at 0/6. Was this one of the problematic Achievements the update fixed? I assume the pikkards one, too, because I never got that one, either, and I got all four leaves.Christof?
Well, shit. Thanks for the answer. You escort Christof by going to Valestein post beating Illburn Ruins. Then you go right outside Illburn (warp to entrance) and there he is. Then escort him back to Valestein.
Any tips beyond just farming those assholes outside of the final savepoint?
So I refuse to ever even try and attempt the final boss until I am max level (I want to finish it off with a bang). I love grinding, but this shit is pretty damn slow.

I assumed he was dying, I was actually tempted to advise "stop dying". If he hasn't even TRIED then, uhh, yeah, do that first. You really don't need to be max level; Galbalan is eminently beatable at 50.
I keep forgetting about the terrible save state positions in game. It's such a long run and if you die towards the end, bam, right from the start. Kind of a pain.
I'm pretty close to beating the game on Easy. I kind of regret not playing on Normal now, since the game on Easy has been, for the most part, a pushover.
How long did it take you?
I'm considering getting this, but torn on whether to play it on PC or my PSP.

Managed to kill off the ice dragon on hard. What a fuckin' pain in the ass.
Makes no difference if you don't care about frame and pixel counting.
