This is all true but a part of me always cringes when people make fun of this dude's art. I really can't stand to see people (almost 100% of the time complete non-artists themselves) shit on a successful artist's ability. It's one thing to say you don't like something but this dude crosses over into like carrot top/nickelback territory where he has just become a joke and people revel in shitting on him, and I don't understand that kind of mentality. Yes his work can be pretty funny sometimes, but it just rubs me the wrong way to hear people who could barely draw a stick figure cut up a guy's art because they've seen someone do it better.

I can’t draw a cat to save my life, but bad art is bad. There’s overdesigning, which you may or may not appreciate, and then there’s that Cap image and Liefeld’s lifetime avoidance of drawing feet. The guy can draw, but the weaknesses in his art are blatant, and funny as hell. He made lots of stuff people don’t mock because it’s actually good.

I don't know comics much, but I can't get past this connection. The band showed up several years before the comics character, so of course mainstream audiences are going to think first of the band. It's a profoundly stupid name for a supervillain. Imagine if in the next film Black Panther had to face off with "the Lead Zeppelin."

Not the best execution but I think the direction of the design is better and the final version on release will definitely trounce the theatrical cut.

Eh, not really what I said, anyone is free to criticize a product they don't like for whatever reason, I was just saying it just does burn me up more when someone with no skill in a field goes over the top with criticizing someone's work, like I mentioned people are fond of doing with do with famous targets like Carrot Top and Nickelback. Any discussion of these two acts is guaranteed to have someone come in and explain how bad they are. In this very thread about a totally different character design, Rob's previous work is shown for laughs, because.....it's relevant here? I guess? People have fun bandwagon bashing them and I think it's different than simply not liking work and stating that.
