Zack Snyder's Justice League Coming to HBO Max in 2021

It is currently unclear what form Snyder's Justice League will take. Whether it will be released as an almost four-hour director's cut or split into six "chapters" has yet to be decided, but the Snyders are now in the midst of reassembling much of their original postproduction crew to score, cut, add new and finish old visual effects, and, yes, maybe bring back many of the actors to record additional dialogue.

Also unclear is the cost of the endeavor. One source has pegged the effort in the $20 million range, although another source says that figure could be closer to $30 million. The parties involved had no comment.

The "Snyder Cut" is real and it's coming to HBO Max. During a Vero livestream of Man of Steel on Wednesday, Zack Snyder finally confirmed once and for all that fans will get to see his mythical edit of Justice League. The director's cut will arrive to the streaming platform in 2021.

While Snyder himself, and the various Justice League actors, have teased the existence of the cut numerous times over the last three years, it's never been available for fans, and technically, never confirmed as real. Now WarnerMedia, in an effort to lure people to the new HBO Max streaming service

I love DC so of course I'm down to watch it and hope its good. I still expect a thoroughly mediocre film though. You can only do so much even with a redone post production.

Smart move by HBO. its apparently 2x the length, which I actually enjoyed justice league but felt it was rushed. Pretty interested in this as someone who isnt even a DC fanboy

C'mon man, you are obligated to share this post of yours from a couple days ago:

This is from the latest episode of the Harley Quinn show.

The Snyder Cut crowd is taking it as a compliment of being recognized, but it's WB pointing out how dense they are.

The movie they've been screaming about for 3 years is never happening:

Honestly, I had no dog in this race, but if any topic ever deserved a "crow eating" thread....

Btw: There is no way Snyder's vision is worse, imo, just on the basis that his version is an actual artistic vision as opposed to Frankenstein's sterile monster.

I don't really know what to think, Snyder's DCEU wasn't that great to begin with, specially with BvS.

But what the hell, maybe it'll be better

Can't pretend I'm not interested in seeing what he intended to release. At the very least it'll look nice and should have some better action.

It brings me such an unexpected and consuming joy to know that Zack Snyder's vision for this chapter of his saga will finally be unveiled as a loving gift to his loyal fans. Zack makes these movies expressly for the comic book fans who are left out of Marvel's corporate equation for making money out of these properties and it feels so amazing to know that we are not forgotten. I'm going to pre-subscribe to HBO Max today because of this news alone and I know I will not be disappointed by the final product. I know this likely won't revitalize Snyder's DCEU but hopefully it will energize the creators who are still working on these titles, whom he originally enlisted to help flesh out his vision.

I really do feel sorry for the people who cannot enjoy Man of Steel and Batman v Superman because they are two of my favorite films of the modern era.

Seriously so happy for Snyder and his fans.

Zack snyder has had to endure so much shit since MOS basically.

Woke film Twitter and places like era and people like that have spent literal years calling the man a racist, a sexist, alt right, nazi, islamophobe, homophobe, claiming he hates his mother, making fun of his daughters suicide etc. Trying to tear down his entire filmography and assassinate his character.

Relentlessly mocking him and his fans to obsessive levels. Telling them this would never happen.

Now they're all mad as fuck and claiming WB is "giving into terrorists/toxicity/harassment."

Seriously couldn't be happier for Snyder.

The movie was so awful. I don't know how anyone could have thought it was better than Man of Steel or even Batman v Superman.

I'd be shocked if there could be a worse version than what was sent to theaters.

I want nothing to do with it but good for the Synderverse fans. Now if we were talking about the Streinmann cut of Friday the 13th part V with the vagina kill and the extended sex scene you would have my attention.

Never forget 🤣 I mean he doesn't deserve death threats for crying out loud, no fucker needs to threaten people lives, but have fun yes.

The 1st one flopped hard. How can this one make money?
Think of it like this. WB is gonna spend about $30M on this to boost their streaming service. They need content. $30M isnt a lot of money for a streaming show. High budget shows routinely have $100M+ budgets.

They are giving the friends cast $4M each to hang out for an hour together for a special on hbo max for example.

This is just about getting subs to HBO max because theirs obvious interest in it. They just have to finish it and now they have a high profile movie/series for the app.

Justice League was fine. I'm sure the Snyder cut will be fine as well.

Granted I think most movies are fine and have been known to enjoy the shit out of horrible movies because they're horrible.

I can't think of a better example of something blowing up in someone's face at the moment. I've been riding this, I have to admit. It's just too funny to see someone insult people and then be completely wrong. Classic comedy.

yes people act like everything has to be high art now "You know the movie is still going to be bad???" like no shit, im watching Superman and Batman fight Steppenwolf, it's not like i'm walking into these movies expecting Stanley Kubrick or Alfred Hitchcock.

Sounds like his cut is more of a straight continuation of BvS rather than the course-correct attempt that Whedon JL became

also sounds like he has a couple cool cameos in his cut

Didn't he have to basically abandon this because his son died?

In light of that, I'm all for Snyder getting to pick up and complete a passion project that obviously meant a lot to him.

In general, I'm not a tremendous fan of his work so far with DC, but it should be fun to see what he delivers.

Good for him to get to have a chance to show everyone his vision for the film. I imagine it was a dream project for him. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must have been for him to go through what happened with his daughter.

I'm so used to seeing fan being insulted and shit on, like that Harley Quinn clip for example.

It's honestly weird to see the fans actually win once in a while

To be honest I had zero intention of ever watching that crappy movie again, but this might make me take a second look.

I hope he can find some joy in its production.
