Zelda ToTK: When you think there’s no new tricks in ToTK

Yes, systemic game design is nice because you can do stuff like that. Its why many people love immersive sims or similar stuff.

I enjoy the clever solutions to the shrines, but I would still rather they had cut down on them and incorporated several puzzles into themed dungeons that were fun to play rather than things that are fun to watch once on YouTube then never again. As entertaining as the clips are, any dungeon from OoT/MM/etc is far more memorable.

Both BOTW and TOTK dungeons puzzles are way funnier to play than any of the previous Zelda games imo, you can criticize they not being bigger or whatever, but in terms of puzzles older zelda puzzles can't even stand there with newer ones

In BOTW the abilities were nice but never really worked together.

Here all the systems work together for you to cheat the game.

If only you could go at it with a bear, might have won GOTY.

I started to play this 2 days ago. Just didn't have time at release and felt I was still burned out from BOTW.

I have to confess that it feels better than almost everything else I played this year. Nintendo is so much on a league of their own it's not even funny.

The first 3 hours until you land on Hyrule are a masterclass of setting up the gameplay and rules while still giving you so much freedom it's just ridiculous. The music and mood are so elegant and tasteful - it's kind of embarrassing for anyone else - apart for From Software, of course.

I made a donkey carriage with fire throwing wheels that carried mushrooms and apples for the poor.
