Seth is really cool, I'm looking forward to pulling him more than jane; if only he was on qingyi's banner so I could get them both.
He has a pretty juicy ex and ultimate dmg modifiers so I can see him doing pretty big damage with his passive buff and his C6 buff, though weirdly he isn't a counter type, his shield just gives him reduced damaged, though thinking about it that's probably not that weird, since he turns his shield into super amped elemental discharge.

Christ I didn't even see that. Only the one though?
For all of their games now they have a pattern of 2-3 codes with bigger currency amounts during the new version livestreams that expire super quickly (usually same day), then usually 1-2 misc codes after the beginning of a patch. Sometimes for special events and web events they'll do extra freebies. You likely won't see the amount you saw during the launch window until an anniversary or something.

Damn I thought the leveling materials ramp up was pretty fair in this game until I unlocked level 50 cap. The difference from 40 to 50 is ridiculous. Fucking hate when games do this.

Oooooooh, fuck yeah!:messenger_fire:

Definitely will be getting Burnice for my fire team which currently lacks a decent DPS character (and probably will stay that way until they'll release Burnice).

But why the fuck is her outfit so oiled up?:messenger_dizzy: I don't like this at all, especially considering none of the characters from this faction has the same effect on their outfits.

Well, she + - Anby and Soldier 11, but with the shield she can trow and energy barrier to block all attacks (which is nice, but could be even nicer if she can cast it on other agents). Still much better than slow af Ben though, but idk, Burnice is much better I think.

Now look at the amount of EXP you need to get to IK lvl 51:messenger_grinning_smiling:
Somehow I think that IK lvl 60 is the hard cap and they won't be going any further with this.

Haven't even attempted the dispute node 6 since the 5th one was quite a sweaty fight as it is. 😅 I do wonder how people playing only on mobile with touch controls can handle these fights. 🤔

I also need them Dennies... It's getting so expensive to do any upgrades once you have your agents at level 50. That being said, I did level up my Ether and Ice bangboos to 60, so slowly but surely I'm making progress.

Yeah, given just how many resources you need and how much Dennies (not to mention you only need this for the endgame which is just bad... for now), there's no rush really to get all the agents to lvl 60. I already decided that I'll be collecting all the stuff you need for the skill upgrades and passives first just so that I don't have to worry about it later and Dennies... Well, you can easily get 120K via HIA training each day so in a week or two you can lvl up 2... maybe 3 agents. The biggest issue is disc tuning though and lack of S rank tuning items, which you can't even buy with Dennies you can easily get.

I spent over 1M dennies in the past 24h and I kinda need some more. :messenger_grinning_sweat: Anyway, it's just a me problem since I already had enough resources to lvl up an agent and two bangboos, so I wanted to do it asap, but the issue was dennies and I didn't want to burn through my battery for them. :p

Oh, I've been there dude just last week before the 1.1 udate - lvld up a bunch of characters to lvl 50, upgraded discs and such. I literally was down to like ~10K Dennies and could't buy shit, had to spent some of the currency at the store to get Dennies (but not too much cuz refresh is in 2 weeks from now and I need those discounted tapes), I almost wished there was a loan kiosks in the game cuz of how bad it was:messenger_tears_of_joy:

In other news.

Just unlocked customer service.

Honestly? Idk why this has to be an event and not a permanent mini-game as a part of store management. I mean, you can make it an event with better rewards, but it can also be a regular thing you can do to help customers and get some stuff for it. Now, Idk how many people reading this thread remember what the hell was VCRs, but for those who don't know - these things could eat up your VCs tape, damage it, tear it to shit to the point that you had to go and buy a new VC, pretty much like regular cassette tape player. I don't remember how many times I disassembled my VCR cuz of this shit but... a lot! So, when I found out that there'll be customer service in the 1.1 update I thought they'd think of something cool for you to do based on the experience with VCRs many people had but... Well, it's okay what they end up doing, but I wish it was a lot more, like, at least channel search and tuning to find the stable video signal and stuff... Uh, oh well...:messenger_pensive:

It's official, all my RNG went into the bangboo banner. Got 2 S rank bangboos in 20 pulls.

I have a feeling I'll have to save like 160 pulls in order to secure Jane Doe when her banner drops since the odds of me winning that 50/50 are grim. :messenger_hushed:

Hahaha jesus, for the first 10 seconds I looked at that image, I thought it was a "results" screen of a single multipull. Then I realized it's just showing which boos you've unlocked. I was about to advise you buying yourself (and me) lotto tickets.

Haha, I wish I was that lucky. But yeah, I'm pretty annoyed right now that HoYo cursed me with good RNG in the most worthless banner. XD

The shadow jane fight is great, I'm suspecting it's going to filter a lot of people who aren't expecting an enemy turned to eleven like this; hope there's going to be more bosses with this, tough but fair difficulty, felt like I was playing a DMC boss for a second there and I got motivated.
Still beat it first try, but it was a welcome surprise, spoilered the boss name so it stays a surprise.

Head here if you want to experience it.

I found it funny cuz they made that mission especially with Jane Doe in mind. All the 3 card buffs we get are perfect for Jane, 2 are physical damage buffs and the other is a dodge counter buff.

I took my Ellen ice team and got destroyed cuz most of the bosses are resistant to ice. Managed to clear all the bosses with no problems even with ice resistance but the final boss is actually challenging. Moves too fast and becomes hard to see alot of times. Still defeated the boss but some of my party died so no S rank.

Is there a release date for Miyabi? Shes the next S tier that I really want and I don't see it on google. I'm f2p and within 110 pulls I some how got Ellen x 2 , Zhu and now Qingyi. I'm expecting to have to pull a lot to lose my next 50/50 so I'm trying to save up 200ish pulls worth of mats.

I've most S rank ones as well and only missing 4 of them (incl. the new one from Zhu's squad - searching for it since 1.1 release) and got the dupe of the Shark one last month.

In general, I think the bangboo channel is much more generous than the character ones since there's a lot more A rank bangboos than A rank characters.

combat bangboo are legitimately great, I wouldn't call their banner the worst one at all, every one you pull upgrades your entire account, the w-engine banner is far worse.
The main problem with this channel is that it uses the same effin' exclusive tapes as the character one, hense it's only for giant whales and not for those of us who subbed for a month or two even. It's main purpose is to annoy the fuck out of ya and show that you're a miserable motherfucker cuz you don't have a mountan full of money to throw at the game and they made it that way intentionaly.

Uh, thank god it's over, really not a fan of this one. It's basically a different take on Koleda's story, but with kids and NPC you can't give less of a shit about (just like in Nekomata's story)✋:messenger_weary:
It starts funny, I'll give it that, but that's about the one and only good thing I can say about this story:messenger_expressionless:

Hows the game for someone like me who has NEVER played a gacha game before? Like i dont even really know anything about it. Just saw some clips and the look of the game is great.

Is this a decent entry into gacha games?

It is, but set yourself limits. The game plays sorta like an action game within Persona. You have outside story stuff with time of day mechanics, puzzle solving stuff with minigames in the TV mode, and then satisfying team based action combat. Best way to play if you aren't used to the insidious side of gacha monetization is to not attach any payment options to the game. Just enjoy it as a free game etc.

If you feel like you want to support the devs, there are low cost-high yield options like the $4.99 monthly pass or the battle pass thing. But keep in mind that the whole business model is to turn you into a paying player from a free player. You won't be able to get every character or whatever as a free player, but as long as you accept that, it's a lot of fun.

Gacha is just the way you get new characters/weapons.
You could have two completely different games in terms of genre, systems, etc that are both gacha games, so I'm not sure whether or not you've played a gacha game before really matters.

If the visuals, gameplay, characters, interest you then give it a try. It's free to play after all.

I'd suggest reading this: https://www.neogaf.com/threads/gens...e-mappelle-la-baleine.1568699/#post-260377313

Nearly everything I wrote also applies to Zenless. The prices may have gone up since then, but I'm not really sure. I've been free to play in Zenless since day one. I've unlocked three s-rank characters, and I have enough for a fourth, but I'm waiting for a character that I want.

Also, if you like skilled combat with timed dodges and blocks, play Zenless. If you like exploration more and don't care as much about combat, maybe give Genshin a try instead. Outside of looking around the hub world / town, Zenless really doesn't have a lot of exploration, while Genshin has a fully open world with a massive amount of content to explore.

Yeah the environment and the general vibe of the game is interesting. Haha guess yall right, it IS free to play after all. I might as well just try it.

Oh and heres a question, as far as an ingame user goes, does it display your steam/psn/xboxtag ingame? I ask because ive been thinking bout changing my psn username but dont know if this game even shows it.

It's not on steam/xbox; and mihoyo games require an account of its own, and you choose your name etc. so it probably doesn't show your psn username anywhere.

I always wondered, why miHoYo games are not on Steam? Not a single one of them and Genshin is 4+ yrs old already. I highly doubt it's related to Steam's 30% cut since their games are all F2P and they're using their on account system to sell you stuff:pie_thinking:

Oh, but wait, is it actually made by miHoYo? I though they had only 3 major AAA F2P games - Genshin, HSR and ZZZ. In any case, it makes me even more curious as to why this one and not the others:pie_thinking:

Combat looks somewhat similar to ZZZ. Hmm...

Yeah, it's made by mihoyo.
Thing that sucks about this is that it's a separate server, so you can't use your mobile account with it and there's no cross progression. Basically killed it out of the gate.
Yeah, I was just looking trough some of the steam reviews and some people were pointing this out... So dumb. :/

Uhuh, I'm watching reviews now and it looks like you're right, but Steam page has no mention of miHoYo as a dev, that's why I asked if it's miHoYo or not.

Damn, imagine playing the game for years with no ability to import your progress:messenger_astonished:

Why does it have to be serapate server though? As far as I know, EGS version of ZZZ (for example, idk about Genshin and HSR) uses the same servers as the regular version from miHoYo's ZZZ website.

Honkai Star Rail actually has plot connections to Honkai Impact. Star Rail’s story is fully enjoyable on its own, you just get a little extra insight on certain details if you’ve played Honkai Impact.

Honkai impact on steam is fully integrated with steamworks etc.
I'm guessing they did it this way since it would be "easier" for pc/steam players, since if you just play on steam, there's no reason to have mobile cross progression; look at how many people here on gaf complain like the world is ending when they have to make an account somewhere else, the steam version of honkai just creates an account for you using steam, and all the payment options just go through steam as well.
It was released a year later on EGS as the regular client, so I'm guessing they read the feedback/reviews of the steam version and decided not to go with a bespoke version again.
All the other games are on EGS so I'm guessing it's just some kind of exclusivity deal with Epic.

And yes mihoyo made it, it's in fact the game that funded all their other games and is "their favourite child", star rail is a spin-off that takes place in a different reality, genshin is also part of the honkai multiverse.
ZZZ is it's own thing not connected to honkai.

Started playin' new story content and I LOVE IT! The setup is extremely well done, the mood, the writing and all that, just excellent. And the first mission with the whole Zhu's squad is great as well. Love Seth and what he can do in combat as well as giving shield to other characters, which will help in the endgame content a lot. The fact that we can get Seth easily in just 2 weeks since he's an A rank agent is great and if I'll get Jane while doing so.... Speaking of the devil. I cannot wait to get rid of Piper and won't be wasting any resources on her from this day forward. Jane is just incredible in combat which you can't really tell by looking at the videos. She has two dash attacks with different combat moves, insanely good AOE attacks, finishing moves and the animations.... dang, they even animated her legs in places you don't expect. I love the transparent pulsating tail of hers, a really cool visual touch.

Can't wait to play more cuz it's literally the best story content so far in the game after the 3rd Chapter and.... we can't replay it? I mean, you sure can go to the video archive and watch all the videos plus I'm sure combat stuff will be available separately, but why can't we replay the whole thing as it was intended and like you're playing it the first time (same goes for the main story actually)? Why would you do it like that and so disjointed? I don't get it. Was it like that in Genshin and HSR as well (if there even was an ability to replay story stuff)? It looks like there's a lot more episodes like that planned based on the amount of blank covers which is great, but it's not going to be the main story content, more like major side stories in the world with already established characters and I can't say no to that.

Man, raising my proxy level has put such a dampener on my progress in this game. Most of the content auto-levels with you, so as soon as I did the quest, everything is now level 47+ and most characters I have are stuck at 40 due to lack of resources. 200k Dennies and a day's worth of farming the ascension mat stages at level 50 to just uncap a single character.

I have plenty of batteries, and a smarter player would probably burn them to fast track a team to 50, but I'm also a hoarder by nature so it's tough for me to spend them when I'm not on the maximum efficiency of the stages (level 60 or whatever max level is). So because of my own hangups now I'm just doing dailies and farming shit and logging out.

I still think it was a huge mistake to make the disparity of 40-50 so much higher than 30-40. 100k Dennies for uncap, about half of the level up materials required, and 2/3 of the ascension materials seems fair and a much gentler curve.

Agent_4Seven

Tears of Nintendo
Pejo Pejo man, you think that's bad? It's 400K Dennies for lvl 60 promo for each character, 20 of the most expensive seals for both agent and W-Engine, 80+ of the most expensive lvl up items for just 5 lvls, 10 (for each skill individualy) of the most expensive skill lvl up items for high lvl skill upgrades and.... 35K (almost 2 times more than from lvl 49 to 50) EXP to gain 1 proxy lvl after lvl 50:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Almost finished building with Qingyi.

9rJSXJr.jpeg

Only two discs left to get with better secondary stats (hopefully without expensive tuning for 100% guaranteed main stat I need). There's also a 2nd disc as well but idk about this one yet, it might be too much of a hasle and the disc I have now is not really that bad.

Also won RNG and got a great Impact disc after expensive tuning with 4 secondary stats.

AJQqAQ2.jpeg

Good thing about building Qingyi is that Seth will also be using Electic discs, so everythig which is not so great for Qingyi I'll just give to Seth in 2 weeks from now and I already have 3 max lvl discs for him:messenger_relieved:
