I've posted in another thread, but it has some of the best animations I've seen in a game to date. So you should give it a try just for that. The in-game character models look like they could be from xenoblade 2.
I'm interested. Free to play after all.
If it's not for me, no monetary loss.

This is a short clip I extracted from this cutscene.
I've heard that the PC version has performance issues, so I'm okay with them releasing the PS5 version several months after the PC and mobile, as long as it means they're putting in the effort to properly optimize it for console.I wish Wuthering would have released on PS5 Day One.

I'm confused about this game, because it's a gacha game right? And because of that, I was sure it would have multiplayer, but apparently no.
So what's the point in playing this and having to go through all the gacha shit mechanics, instead of playing a regular single player game?![]()
In Genshin there is multiplayer, but even there I found it way too limited, it wasn't present enough to justify all the micro transaction stuff, and if it's purely single player, I understand it even less, so that's why I'm thinking it's better to just play a standard single player rpg or something where you won't have to deal with the gacha issues, if there is nothing to gain here.????
ALL the gachas are single player. They are "regular" single-player games with character/weapon banners you get by pulling.
Honkai Star Rail is much more user-friendly, reducing dailies to a minimum and autoplay settings.

I play Genshin on the side still and I completely feel this way.I played Genshin for a while and I gave up because of the horrible mechanics tied to the mobile aspect of it. The gacha pull wasn't even the worst, but the resin system, and being forced to play like 20 minutes every day instead of just how much you want, when you want, is a horrible system, I didn't like this.
The artifact system was also unbearable, at some point I didn't even want to pull for new characters because I knew it would mean weeks / months of grind to get the right artifacts.

I really, really love the style of the game, how it feels to play, and how I can jump between PC and Mobile. I would have an absolute blast going hard on the grind and raising all my characters as I do with any RNG loot game. However being limited to about 10 minutes of Resin a day just drags things out to such painful levels that I simply lose interest. Consequently Genshin, and any other game that uses mobile-style stamina, will never be anything more than a side-game to me. I'll never spend a dime on a side game like that.
Like you mentioned, I would actually be more apt to pull more characters but I hold back for the same reason as you. When I see a showcase for a new character it builds hype, then reality sets in that it may be months of daily grinding before that character is amazing.
That's better quality of life, but the core issue of wanting to play more is not solved with a system based around not playing lol. What I like about HSR is that the resin actually builds up a lot more now. You get like 2000+ from not playing. Then by the time you come back you can earn resin refills as rewards plus use your 2000+ and get some decent time with building up characters. Not sure if Genshin has this now or not.

They know what they are doing as I'm sure they make a fortune on resin refills.
I have a very modest ryzen 7 with a 3050. Had no major perfomance issues. Plus, we've got not only the pre register rewards, but also a lot "sorry" rewards. If they at least give those + a few extra fpr the wait that'd be coolI've heard that the PC version has performance issues, so I'm okay with them releasing the PS5 version several months after the PC and mobile, as long as it means they're putting in the effort to properly optimize it for console.
Hello, Proxies! Greetings from the Zenless Zone Zero dev team. I'm Zhenyu Li, the producer of Zenless Zone Zero. After four years of development, three rounds of closed beta tests, and countless improvements, I'm thrilled that Zenless Zone Zero is officially launching July 4 on PS5! Hereby, I would like to share the most up-to-date game content with you in this blog post.
Zenless Zone Zero is a new urban fantasy ARPG by Hoyoverse, in which a calamity called Hollows – an abnormal spherical dimension that appears out of thin air and swallows everything it touches – destroys modern society. New Eridu, the last remaining metropolis, has risen against the odds amidst this destructive catastrophe and become the remnant of contemporary civilization. In the game, players assume the role of Proxy, accompanied by unique characters to explore Hollows, combat enemies, complete commissions, and reveal the mysteries behind New Eridu.
Despite the post-apocalyptic setting, the world of Zenless Zone Zero is filled with fascinating stories and dynamic characters. After encountering the odd-job agency Cunning Hares and the remarkable industrial group Belobog Heavy Industries in early chapters, you can unlock the Chapter 2 Interlude and Chapter 3 of the main story, in which Officer Zhu Yuan makes her official debut and members from Victoria Housekeeping disclose their true colors.
On top of that, new characters Lucy and Piper from a faction in the outer ring of New Eridu known as Sons of Calydon are also prepared to join you in exploring the menacing Hollows as playable agents. Moreover, numerous newly designed Bangboos are under your command as companions with unique abilities in battle.
In previous playtests, you may have seen Sixth Street, which is actually only a small part of New Eridu. In the global launch version, Lumina Square, the buzzing commercial district of New Eridu is ready for Proxies' exploration. Strolling around the city, you will find adorable Bangboos in need of rescue, cargo trucks hidden in corners with various rewards and surprises awaiting.
As the adventure commences, the legendary Proxy named Phaethon has also expanded the video store Random Play's second floor where you can rest in bed, play music, or customize the photo walls to transcribe precious memories along the journey.
Catering to both new and veteran players of the action genre, Zenless Zone Zero strikes a balance between accessibility and complexity. The consolidation of combat mechanics including Chain Attacks, Perfect Assist, switching characters, etc., offers players an opportunity to unleash their creativity and immerse themselves in the fast-paced combat.
To satisfy players' various preferences, newly implemented Combat Commissions allow combat-focused Proxies to dive in and start the battle right away. Meanwhile, avid action players can keep reinforcing their battle skills in combat challenges such as Hollow Zero and Shiyu Defense – find the Scott Outpost which overlooks the most massive and impactive Hollow existing in New Eridu to access them.
To celebrate the accomplishment of 40 million global sign-ups and to embrace the official launch of the game, we have prepared bountiful in-game rewards including up to 1600 Polychromes, 90 Master Tapes, 20 Encrypted Master Tapes, and 85 Boopons for global players. You can obtain all the rewards by advancing the in-game progress, participating in global launch activities, and experiencing numerous time-limited in-game events including Friendship Supervision and Watch Your Step.
Once again, as the launch date approaches, we want to express our sincere gratitude to all the players who've shown tremendous support and interest in Zenless Zone Zero. We can't achieve any of this without you. Our joint journey begins when Zenless Zone Zero launches July 4 on PS5. Please stay tuned for more exciting details and stories we have conscientiously prepared for Proxies around the world. See you soon in New Eridu!
im very noob to these kinds of games....but it seems the budget for it has to be pretty high, right? they have a truly global marketing with ads and music videos and all that jazz...how far the Japanese devs have fallen? its bewildering

What do you mean? Aren't Japanese devs doing really well compared to the rest of the industry right now?
what I mean is that this game and The First Descendant are games that feel massive in scope and production values, with a big marketing push (global and community-driven).What do you mean? Aren't Japanese devs doing really well compared to the rest of the industry right now?

I played the beta for the Korean one and there is a part in the main city.... Its architecture instantly reminded of FFVIII..and I was like damn...SE should've been at this level. and this Chinese game has some Kingdom Hearts vibes in the combat UI and some very stylish menus, Persona vibes.
I'm talking about the scope and the ability to make GaaS in a big wayI mean SE just released an FF game that scored in the low 90's. While the Persona game well Persona 6 hasn't come out yet but I doubt it's any less stylish than the other ones. P3R has basically kept me going because of it's UI/presentation. China and Korea are definitely coming up don't get me wrong but I really feel like Japan is still right there at the top and all the metrics seem to point to that as well.

You can play Genshin all day if you want. The resin system is just to limit the amount of resorces players can farm each day (used to level up characters) but thers no limit to how much you can progress in the story, how many quests you can take or explore.I'm confused about this game, because it's a gacha game right? The progression in these type of games is just really not natural at all.
Yeah kinda, from what i saw the fighting is in linear stages like corridors. Reason im not interested in this game. I like the art style and setting but im more curious to see how Project Mugen will be as it uses the same kind of urban artstyle but its open world with some cool traversal mechanics, some even copy pasted from spider man. Will this be a game where you only fight in small rooms?
is this weird? they talk about several insightful aspects of game development/including marketing, in realation to making a game accesible/attractive for new less skilled players and more skilled ones and the challenges of making an everlasting engaging game.
everything is around players satisfaction no a single world about inclusivity or preaching about representation. it's about making the best product possible.
