Fuck yea. Loved the original, kept me sane during Covid and my break up in 2020. Can't wait to discover some new tunes too.

Exactly we rarely get demo's and the ones we do get should be free, to try out the product before buying it. Not after you paid for it.

Its such a garbage practice, right there with the early access trash. I'll be so happy to see everyone who paid more to play it early, it will really make me feel like a well treated fan of the series.

Nah fuck all that Im gonna be checking it out on Gamepass and will buy it when its got a 60/75% sale on Steam.

They can get fucked for all I care
FWIW, when games started rise in price and production around the 360 it became harder to make demos. Demos literally require extra to create and bug test a vertical slice of gameplay to give out. Hell, some demos are full games with time limits just because it's easier.

3 is one of my favourite games ever, looking forward to this. Hope they fixed the revert window, it was tightened for 1+2 and felt wrong.

It sucks the bonus sexy female characters like Jenna Jameson will probably be gone, because God forbid you gives players more options.

Still happy to see this, I haven't touched 4 since 2002 and I think the last time I played 3 was... 2016?

I hope before the game comes out we get a character list and soundtrack list

I’m out if it doesn’t have Bam Margera, and it 100% has to have 96 Quite Bitter Beings or I’m good. If it has these, day one purchase.

all i need is the song blitzkrieg bop and i am all set love that song playing on the demo on x box back in the day.

I think they stopped making demo's because in some or (maybe) many cases it would lead to less sales

Lmaooo so there isnt the open world aspects to the lvls of 4 anymore, its just the levels in 2 minute runs

The parks from THPS3 and THPS4 have been authentically remade in jaw dropping 4K resolution* with streamlined goals in a two minute format

not sure if I like that they changed how THPS4 works...
it's what made the game what it is, now it will just feel exactly like THPS1+2, as those games already had all the tricks and stuff that 4 had.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Doomslayer and Revenant are in the deluxe edition

That's kind of an interesting nod to the PC version of the game. I can't say the Doom theme is particularly desirable as a song in the game, or that I feel like the IP belongs in the game at all, though. Ironically, I have no issue with Darth Maul (and I hope they bring him back for the remake).

Are these even worth an upgrade let alone the asking price?

Since the series inception I’ve always thought the general consensus was that 1 & 2 were really the best and overall the only ones that really mattered.

THPS3 has always been a fan-favorite, so I was honestly surprised that they didn't add the 3rd game to the THPS 1+2 compilation way back. It absolutely deserves the remake treatment. THPS4... not as much, but it's still a great game. If they left that out, I'd have fully understood because the larger maps and less-focused design definitely make it feel like a bit of an odd duck.

3, 4, THUG and THUG 2 are still the best in the series, along with 2. It went downhill after that. However, if they do remove the career mode in 4, and then decide to "remaster" THUG and THUG 2 in a similar manner then they won't be worth playing. The career modes are what make the latter games so good.

While 2 is my favorite in the series, THPS 3 was highly acclaimed and often in the conversation as one of top tier games on PS2.

The revert into manual was the most important thing they ever added to Tony hawk games. Combos went from finding pre determined lines with slight deviation due to manuals into pretty much create your own lines. All that started with 3. (Though they did add that into the 1+2 remaster in 2020.)

This is my favorite video game series with SSX. These kind of games don't exist anymore at all, which makes me super sad. A remake like this is very welcomed for me, I'm just happy the franchise isn't completely dead anymore.

I really enjoyed 1+2 and it was well worth it to me. I'm disappointed about the lack of career in THPS4 if it's true, but I'm still really interested to see something "new" in this franchise, and I hope the online mode won't suck this time (but I have low hopes).

About the best episodes, I wonder if it isn't just out of nostalgia that people mostly talk about 1 and 2. As far as I'm concerned, THPS 4 is where my favorite episodes start, because I really prefer how more immersive it feels, with missions, NPCs, environment that feel more alive etc... and Underground was even better with that, and in my opinion way, way better than THPS 1 and 2 which are quite limited in comparison. I really enjoyed Undeground 2 too. American Wasteland was the first episode I found quite mediocre, but then there was Project 8, the first tony hawk on ps3/360, and I absolutely loved it, it's one of my favorites.

So, to me, no, 1 and 2 aren't the best ones :messenger_grinning_sweat:

nope. that's just what nostalgic people say.
it wasn't until THPS4 that the base concept truly started to feel super dynamic and fully realised.

it wasn't until THPS3 for example that the revert was added. without the revert your combo variety and length is SEVERELY limited.

then in THPS4 they added spine transfers, which allow you to go from one half pipe to another one on the other side of the wall.
and it added the wallplant that allows you to kick off of a wall in front of you to do an instant 180° turn, which could be used to redirect a grind or a manual.

the THPS 1+2 remake added all of these. without these the game wouldn't be half as good as it is. THPS 1+2 is basically the gameplay of THPS4 with the levels of THPS 1 and 2

I guess that's where the debate comes in. While having the combo variety and length being limited with the lack of revert and spine transfers, it made finding the best line more vital. Don't get me wrong, I love having the ability to pull off insane combo's and scores, but the game has become a lot more forgiving with those additions. Without them, you have to be a lot more strategic and put more thought into to your runs.

I think most people like reverts/spine transfers/wall plants. The levels in 3 and 4 are arguably better. They both have bigger levels than 1/2. 3 has great level design and 4 is more of a connected open world with unlocks, if I remember correctly (maybe that's THUG).

I didn't care for the levels in 3, but again, I'm the minority. I struggle to remember much about 4 to be honest. The combo extending maneuvers added during the evolution of the series are a good idea, but I wish they would have made balance control less forgiving so a trick run couldn't last the duration of timer. Scoring a million+ points in a run makes pulling off the special tricks feel less...special. I'd also bet it's part of the reason why I think they ditched the two minute format in 4.

I don't really think that's true. the difference comes more down to not using halfpipes when you wanna do a long combo.

it's not like the revert gives you infinite balance for your manual afterwards. all the revert did was allow you to use half pipes during combos, while in THPS2 you went from manuals to grinds back to manuals for combos, maybe with a trick or two over ramp or drop in-between.

so being able to plan a half pipe into your line didn't make it easier or more forgiving, it just opened up new options.
after all, manualling up a half pipe isn't something you can easily do without planning beforehand on how you get enough speed to even do it in the first place.

and a spine transfer is even harder to pull off after a manual without planning beforehand on how you get enough speed for it.

Are these games just static locations and score trick sessions like thps1 and 2 were?

Or are they open world, roam around skate culture games like Skate 1-3?
I bought and hated thps1/2 , love skate games, the music the intros live videos, the open world, the easy to do tricks and just fun. Skate 2 was the pinnacle, imo.

I guess ea won't remaster skate cause the suck and hate rock/punk music and licensing costs.
