Zerohedge has been suspended on Twitter over Wuhan virus reporting

Twitter suspended Zerohedge today due to it's reporting on the Wuhan Coronavirus.

These platforms have too much control over news reporting. Fuck Twitter. Banning media should be illegal.

It is pretty funny though, since Jack actually followed Zerohedge.

I remember reading an 'article' there once about some new CA law and it was so poorly written and purposefully misleading that I vowed never to go back.

It's like DailyKos for the right wing.

Posting publicly available identifying information is still doxing when you link it to some bullshit weaponizing Corona virus conspiracy theory and then tell people to 'give him a visit'.

This is the quote -

"Something tells us, if anyone wants to find out what really caused the coronavirus pandemic that has infected thousands of people in China and around the globe, they should probably pay Dr. Peng a visit. "

Doesn't sound threatening to me. I don't trust the CCP narrative, and am willing to keep an open mind as to the source of this virus. Occam's razor tells me that incompetence at a lab is more likely than some bat soup causing the disease.

Or at least start with an email: Dr Peng can be reached at peng.zhou@wh.iov.cn, and his phone# is 87197311."
You missed the last part. If you don't believe this will lead to hundreds of not thousands of emails and calls from benignly stupid to threatening then you must be new to the internet.
Even if you entertain the idea that this is even related, how would harassing this guy help?
I am against all forms of internet vigilantism from getting racists fired, to #metoo dogpiles to this conspiracy crap. Considering the Johnny Depp story you would think people would be less tolerant of this bullshit, but I guess some people just love dragging people regardless of the requirement for evidence.

Right after they kill the whistleblower who literally everyone in the world knows who it is and is somehow still alive in Trump's America.

Is it though?

"bat soup lol" isn't a serious theory to the origins of this new mutation.

You can't properly apply Occam's Razor if you don't understand the points of comparison.

Ok, the Chinese state media story is that it originated from a wet market in Wuhan that was selling exotic meats. The virus somehow passed from a bat to a human or an in between carrier animal at the market.

The conspiracy theory is that China was doing biomedical or bioweapon research at a lab that also is in Wuhan on the Corona virus and it got out somehow.

Should we just follow the Chinese state media's reporting and take it at it's face value?

Since we are talking about conspiracies, on the Chinese side, there's also a conspiracy saying that some foreign agents brought it in during the Military Games in Wuhan back in mid-October.

As for myself, I have my own conspiracy theories that involve the NWO on both sides. :p

If a novel new strain of virus happened to appear at this Kroger (a grocery store), and the Atlanta metro area was quarantined, would you not be willing to entertain alternatives to the official narrative?

You know there are videos of Chinese police welding apartment doors shut to keep people from going outside, right?

I keep my mind open to any logical possibility.

This is why I point out your posts because you seem to have a track record of believing and advocating any and every China bad/Russia bad story that comes up and yet vehemently oppose any America bad opinion that is posted. I find this illogical and intellectually stunted. You are blinded by your patriotism from what I can observe.

How does this prove your conspiracy that the Chinese government/military created this virus?

Really? I don't think I have a track record of "China bad" or "Russia Bad". I am also plenty critical of the US. Why are you resorting to an ad hominem instead of making a case why I am wrong?

It doesn't, but actions speak louder than words. Also, no where did I say it was created, it could have just been a strain that research was being done on that escaped the lab accidentally.

There is nothing to prove. At this stage it is a “he said, she said” without concrete proof and whenever an “enemy” of America (not my words, they’re your politician’s and military’s) has some negative press, that portrays them as evil and/or incompetent, my bullshit alarm starts sounding and reminds me to be cautiously skeptical. It’s hard not to be with the CIA’s history of clandestine acts and disinformation campaigns. So, I’m at the wait and see stage.

Yes, the CIA has done plenty of things in their history both internationally and domestically that are quite terrible. That is all part of the whole deep state problem here.

As you say, though, there isn't any concrete proof of anything yet. I don't see about how speculation is a bad thing though.

I mean, this happened just last Tuesday.

But, why do you speculate that this is true about China and yet rule out other similar conspiracies like the CIA creating and distributing the AIDS virus? Why is one possible and the other false?

And I don’t see how that link is relevant. Do you think the USA doesn’t have spies in China? Or are you insinuating that China stole the virus from the USA? Because that would be hilarious and interesting.

I am fairly certain that bio-engineering capabilities were not all that great back in the 20's when the virus jumped from Chimpanzees to Humans. The CIA didn't even exist back then. By the time the CIA was created in 1947, the US government was already thoroughly compromised by Soviet spies, mind you.

Now there was a Soviet campaign called Operation INFEKTION that wanted to place the blame on the US for the AIDS epidemic. And apparently it was decently successful, since it persists.

The Soviets were far better spies than the west ever was, and they had plenty of sympathizers to assist them. Authoritarian systems are much better at disinformation campaigns than democracies with free press and speech.

The link is relevant because it shows a total disregard to safety. One of the guys was literally caught smuggling samples in his socks and boarding an international flight. If they did steal it from the US, I agree, it would be interesting and funny.

There is documentation and dissertations out there that make the CIA/AIDS hypothesis believable. I was even reading one earlier today. But, what is the point of me wasting my time to research and post them? Are you going to change your mind? We both know you are not going to and I am not one to waste a lot of my time, especially on the internet in forum arguments because it ultimately achieves nothing.

If I genuinely believed that you were being honest and open-minded, I’d consider it, but I don’t believe that and for me, time is money. The time I spend doing your homework for you is time I can spend earning the paper. I’d rather do the latter.

Continue to attack me instead of my argument.

I am fairly open minded, hence why I research things. If you were reading things earlier, those links should be readily available in your website history. So come on, prove me wrong. I'd love to see your evidence.

As to the virus at hand, this is an interesting read.

It's not the "Chinese state media story". It's one of the current hypotheses, and it's a reasonable theory. Throughout history, open meat markets with poor sanitation have been a source of diseases jumping species:

The conspiracy theory is that China was doing biomedical or bioweapon research at a lab that also is in Wuhan on the Corona virus and it got out somehow.
OK, so what? Until we have any actual evidence, it's merely baseless speculation, which is entirely unhelpful.

'Bioweapon' conspiracies
Another baseless claim that has gone viral online suggests the virus was part of China's "covert biological weapons programme" and may have leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Many accounts pushing the theory cite two widely-shared Washington Times articles both of which quote a former Israeli military intelligence officer for the claim.

However, no evidence is provided for the claim in the two articles, and the Israeli source is quoted as saying that "so far there isn't evidence or indication" to suggest there was a leak.

The two articles have so far been posted to hundreds of different social accounts to a potential audience of millions.

The Daily Star published a similar piece last week, claiming the virus might have "started in a secret lab". However, it has since amended the piece to add there is no evidence for the claim.

Should we just follow the Chinese state media's reporting and take it at it's face value?

No. Should we take some non-expert's opinion on the subject? No, that's not a suitable alternative either.

What we should be doing is looking at what solid evidence is currently available and listening to a variety of experts on their educated opinions on the subject. Credibility and knowledge matters, and if a source is lacking in those features, it is less signal and more noise.

“One of the biggest takeaway messages [from the viral sequences] is that there was a single introduction into humans and then human-to-human spread,” says Trevor Bedford, a bioinformatics specialist at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The role of Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan, China, in spreading 2019-nCoV remains murky, though such sequencing, combined with sampling the market’s environment for the presence of the virus, is clarifying that it indeed had an important early role in amplifying the outbreak. The viral sequences, most researchers say, also knock down the idea the pathogen came from a virology institute in Wuhan.

If you let your fears succumb to confirmation bias, you can be lead to believe all kinds of unsubstantiated crap without any good reason to do so.

There isn't any good reason to believe conspiracy theories with no evidence. "China bad" isn't a good reason neither.

If you unironically fall down the same line of thinking as orange man bad, then you've lost the plot, I'm afraid.

And what better time to harass an expert in virology than during a worldwide virus epidemic that he is at ground zero of.

I didn't say the hypothesis isn't reasonable. But it is the state media story. All media in China is state run media.

The same state media that would report on the hospitals being completed before they were completed (you could watch the livestream of the construction) by using a photo of a prefab building that was for sale.

I am not letting my fears succumb to confirmation bias. Frankly I think the virus will be mostly contained to China.

That being said, there is enough smoke to check for embers here.

AIDS is most certainly man made.
You'd be surprised if you did some actual research of what has gone on in the past! Like Syphilis being put into vaccinations and given to blacks in the US during the 50's and 60's.

You know the stuff that's on TV or the MSM is infinitely more credible than the garbage you're rehashing from info wars tho right?

for instance, AIDS is most certainly NOT man made, because AIDS is the immune response and the most severe phase of the HIV virus. This is basic stuff that people who watch Info wars don't understand (because they are uneducated and brainwashed by fake news like info wars, zerohedge, etc).

Did you even see the original Zerohedge article? I did.
It linked to an Indian scientists twitter post that claimed corona virus has the same delivery system as the aids virus and that the virus is either a bioweapon or a vaccine gone wrong.
The doxxing of the Chinese scientist is a smoke screen.

Nobody. It’s just the usual suspects running in to plant their shields anytime someone criticizes America’s foreign policy or points out the fallacies in their blind faith and xenophobia.

Imagine believing that the U.S.A. doesn’t employ state run propaganda as well. The naivety is staggering.
