And most of the original music will be present.

As it did for China Beach, StarVista Entertainment/Time Life is painstakingly securing the rights for virtually every song in The Wonder Years. From Cocker's theme song, to hundreds of other memorable and classic soul, rock and pop songs, including classics from The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison and many others, StarVista /Time Life recognizes the necessity to release the series as it was initially broadcast, un-edited and untouched from original broadcast masters.

At the low, low price of only $4000 per season!

Seriously, though, how much is this going to cost them?

Chance for a new generation to see the best dickheaded big brother aired on television

Meh, DVD.

Ah. HYPE INTENSIFIES

They probably aren't going to bother going in and making an HD version. It was a bitch for Star Trek TNG, to the point where every other season is bad quality

It would be much more comfortable to have each season on one or two discs on blu-ray, if they're just going to be SD.

I really wish some old shows would get a pass on using the music and other content they licensed at their time of broadcast. It's less about making money at this point (I mean obviously these companies want the DVDs to sell, but they could just bank on the name and maul the soundtrack if they just wanted straight-up cash), and more about preserving them.

Yeah, frankly if I was an artist (haha), I would say that if my song was on this movie or TV show, it's there forever.

Isn't that the point of creating art in the first place, to immortalize it?

I'll probably pick this up but something tells me this is gonna be expensive as hell.

I would always get frustrated by Kevin's decisions. There was that super hot chick in his French class that looked five years older and was in love with him, yet he decided to stay faithful to Winnie (who wasn't even going to the same school). Damn it, Kevin.

For Wonder Year fans, the Goldbergs on ABC is somewhat similar. Patton Oswalt is the narrator.

It's basically Wonder Years in the 80s with a decent soundtrack (f you are a fan of 80s music)

I will say the actors are not as good as the Wonder Years (except maybe Jeff Garlin). That show had some good casting.

I hope Bob Sagget gets good royalties from this.

What? Are you thinking of Full House?

Does not compute.

I think he may have been making a joke related to How I Met Your Mother. Because Bob Saget is the narrator on that show, and he was acting like he got the narrators of the shows mixed up.

If that wasn't the intent and it's just an 80's sitcom mix-up, then that's actually even funnier.

Nice. Didn't think they'd ever release this with all the music intact.

Also it wasn't until many years later that I found out Daniel Stern did the voice over for Kevin and I'm still weirded out by that.

That's pretty damned cool. I only saw this last year, but it's one of my all-time favorites and the best bittersweet drama I've seen recently. I don't think I've ever cried during a show, let alone more than once or twice throughout the course of any sort of media, before I saw it.

Yeeah. I feel like it's going to cost way too much at first, and quickly become unavailable, and then cost even more.

The licenses on these will probably be relatively short, so if you're interested in this, buy them in a timely manner. Hell, if you're not interested, buy them in a timely manner. I predict they'll be very pricey once they inevitably go out of print.
