Awesome. Good job Nibel.

My expectations:

MK8 trailer
DKC trailer
talk about Pikmin 3 DLC
short trailer showing a few indie games

Yoshi's Trash...i mean New Island
Kirby 3DS
talk about Bravely Default launch

then end with Reggie talking about how fans are insatiable.

in other words..its fucking nothing.gif

I plead for it in every ND hype train thread

NEW ART STYLE GAMES FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Skip LTD have been quiet for a while. 3DS or WiiU, I dont care. I NEED THESE IN ME

I'm just expecting DK and MK with maybe a modest 3DS surprise. With the QOL platform coming, I'm expecting Nintendo to be on stage at the Nokia theatre this E3 -- so I don't see any huge Zelda or Metroid (I don't expect Metroid personally) bomb being dropped until E3 -- that way they can have big news for the casual and hardcore crowd. Also, if you assume those wouldn't come out until 2015 anyway -- it really makes me doubt we'd see anything huge in this spring ND. The best we can hope for is they break free of the spring restriction and show us some more footage of 'X' or something.

I do love NDs of all sizes though. So, I'm excited even if I don't have expectations as high as I have previously.

I don't see think we'll see many surprises for Wii U. They have DK, MK8, Yoshi, Bayo, Sonic and probably some Smash new character or update. These and indies are enough for them to show, especially when they also have 3DS.

Would a DQ X localization surprise anyone?

As for crazy out there predictions?

DS VC will come in late march or early April, and will have 10 plus games at launch with companies like SE, Konami and Capcom up front.

Not sure why so many people are getting excited. They aren't going to announce anything major and have already said they are just focusing on the stuff coming out this spring (Which is stuff already been announced). Naturally they would save any big guns that they have for E3 2014 (if they even bother showing up this year)

Please give me SOMETHING about Zelda U. I'm not expecting a full trailer or anything, but maybe a teasing art concept, a small bit of the story or even just an indication of the release? They HAVE to show something at E3 this year, so their element of surprise is decreasing by each month. Sounds weird, but (I think) nobody expects them to talk about it tomorrow. Then why not blow us away? But again, not going to happen. Still going to watch, though.

Not sure why it bothers you or anyone else that people are excited.

Lol expecting the same thing...

I looked up Dragon Quest 7 (unfamiliar with the series) and I'd love a localization too. I was excited for Bravely Default but somehow the demo really put me off... Haven't touched my 3DS in months :(

Realistic expectations:

-Trailer for Tropical Freeze
-Rambi confirmed for Smash, taking Diddy Kong' place
-Pokémon Pepsi and Coke versions coming to 3DS this year
-IImplementing a shoplifting system to the eShop
-Wii 2 U announced, uses two GTX Titans, 32gb of RAM, priced at $250 and free for all current Wii U owners
-Mario Kart 8 cancelled and reworked as Sonic and Sega All-Stars 3 ffeaturing Mario and Payton Manning
-to clarify the confusion of this announcement, Nintendo reveals they've bought EA and Sega
-Nintendo announces they are closing EA
-Call of Duty announced as Nintendo exclusive for the next 25 years
-Halo 5 announced as multiplatform for Xbox One and 3DS

You remember last years January direct? This is technically the January and February direct combined.

Nah, I really set my expectations so low there's no way I can be disappointed. After hearing Iwata at that investor's meeting and his bonkers ideas, I'm increasingly less confident they have any idea what they're doing, so my expectations for these things are essentially set to bottom tier now. We already know about Donkey Kong which is not really exciting for me, and we already know about Mario Kart (and I'm so done with that series at this point), so what else can they really announce?

X is later in the year if it makes it, and Bayonetta 2 isn't going to be a Spring game... and I can't imagine given their attitude toward third parties any surprises will come from them. So what can I reasonably expect from Nintendo? Yet more games with Mario in it?

I love Nintendo, but they've been on autopilot for ages now, and they're completely aimless.

Well they always say that they're gonna be focusing on "Spring only" or whatever yet last Direct they unveiled Hyrule Warriors and before in October they made sure to specify that it will be for "Wii U and 3DS games coming this year" yet at the end they revealed that Kirby 3DS was coming in 2014.

Now I'm not telling you to get hyped, as a matter of fact I actively encourage you to keep your hype as low as possible as I will be doing exactly the same. Just don't really take what Nintendo says before these Directs at face value.

Fair enough
