This is the only thing Square-Enix has said regarding a release of Dragon Quest VII in North America and has said nothing since then and that was in 2012.

Last month, NoA posted a trailer for Yoshi's New Island to Youtube, along with a press release with the release date.

A Nintendo Direct is no different, except before the above happens there's a 30~45 minute video with the trailer and release date announcement in it.

Bayo might be shown and we might finally see Yarn Yoshi after a year. Even though they said this is focusing on spring games there will probably be at least one new game announcement and maybe a smash trailer.
