Nintendo Direct Feb 13, 2014 Thread | 3DS/Wii U Spring games

All I really want:

confirm the Kirby Triple Deluxe release date
give us some new info on Yoshi's New Island to make me want to buy it over the other March releases

My expectations are honestly pretty low for this considering I only have a 3DS

Can I have an X-fied avatar too plz :)

Also, I don't know how to take off the white background from my picture so if you make it, can I have it without the white background!

Much love!

X, Bayo2, Smash, and maybe a surprise or two for 3ds/WiiU. If they cover DK and MK8 as well then it's pretty much E3 2013 part 2.

This is also going to be a huge test of the reliability of retweets as confirmations lol.

I still cant bring myself to get hyped simply because its Wii U AND 3DS and when it involves 3DS it tends to be 95% 3DS, also given that most Directs are only 31 minutes in Length, that doesn't leave much time for much. Nintendo has let me down so many times, I just can't even get hyped. I hope I'm proved utterly wrong, but I'm too used to disappointment on the console front.

2PM PT? Strange, they've been early in the morning PT before, I'll have to keep the link bookmarked to avoid spoilng it all at once when I get home! I hope the guys like me who would keep buying console Zelda games and a few Mario games in the past will try something new. An awesome 3D adventure like Xenoblade should have been just as appealing to those people as Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword were. If MonolithSoft continues to provide "core" games then I hope their games can be considered in the same breath as Zelda is to those Nintendo core gamers, so that they can be met with the sales they deserve. I was stunned when I really got into Xenoblade, it was so unlike the image I had in my head about what could be a Nintendo game.

Just got through rewatching the first reveal trailer for X. Man, that is like the perfect reveal trailer, imo. Starts off a little slow - some guy running around, showing a few battles. Nice, nice. Big enemies.. cool. Then the music starts picking up and it starts showing off cool abilities and enemies. Then it happens. Bam, the character gets into a mech and it starts fucking flying. It starts fighting huge enemies, chopping off body parts all while the epic music is still playing. Then it fucking transforms from regular mech into driving mech and you see a Shulk-look-alike tease with Takahashi being listed as the executive director...

I was freaking out that day... I hope tomorrow is a repeat (of that experience, not a repeat of the trailer).

Aside from Kirby and Yoshi, I really do not know any other 3DS games announced for this year.

The second trailer is so much better. The city, the music, etc.

I'd expect the Japanese stream to highlight Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Monster Hunter Frontier GG, and Kamen Rider Battride War 2 as third party titles.

Whoa, didn't see that coming. Thought it'd just be limited to the PS3.

Too bad I can't play the Wii U Version due to Region Lock, it'll suck if it's the "definitive" one.

Here's hoping GAIMU can save the Wii U.

I know that feel all too well.

Nope so enjoy the ride.

Most people are being serious this time. Developers of these games retweeted the direct. They never do that unless they have something to show.

People are excited for real this time.

I'm gonna follow these threads from now on.

Nintendo directs do generate ridiculous hype, but come on. It's the CEO of a major corporation talking directly to fans and revealing information on future titles. How is that not hype worthy?

The last thrilling Direct was the January direct a year ago. Since then, there was some ridiculous hype leading to some "ok"/ "alright" reveals. Most people then claim how much of a disappointment they are afterwards.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm on the hype train. I'm just chilling in the back.

Hourly reminder...

I'd never noticed it before but there is some really nice detail on the transformation and how the water interacts. It only splashes when the mech dips down while transforming meaning that there is no splash when it launches over the water to begin its transformation.

Expecting release dates for everything but Yoshi and Smash Bros.

Otherwise, surprise me Nintendo. I have very little faith there's anything I'll want to buy later this year day 1 that isn't Smash Bros.

Lots of people do hype themselves when there's little to no reason to. Their disappointment is their own fault. But this time we have reasons, so if things don't work out the disappointment will be real and it will be huge (and not without reason).

But I always enjoy Directs, so I allow myself to get hyped anyway.

Oh, thank goodness Nintendo changed the schedule to overlap with my ~4 hour drive tomorrow. Keeping up with GAF reaction is a double edged sword - so much fun, but so time consuming. :P

Looking forward to seeing what's announced! I'm going to throw one prediction out there: I can see Nintendo waiting for E3 to announce this, but I think it's about time to introduce Majora's Mask 3DS to the world.
