Nintendo Direct Feb 13, 2014 Thread | 3DS/Wii U Spring games

Wow, I love Nintendo but even I am amazed at how unrealistically full of hope this thread has become.

I must admit the allure of another January 2013 direct is powerful (though even less likely when considering this is just for 'spring' games).

Wait that French guy from a few months back who said something about some exclusive? Hmm

Seems legit

I think that Capcom could have something in the works.

Nintendo has a good relationship with them, Capcom said in one of their investor things that they wanted to get the platform holders more involves -> read as fund development for exclusivity (like Dead Rising on X1 and Deep Down on PS4)

...Nintendo would have to pay for it of course.

I think this Direct is actually slightly underhyped.

Considering the JPN time, we definitely aren't going to get a big announcement. There's still some big titles left to confirm for localization though, and Smash news is always good news.

If anything it's going to be great just to see more of Bayonetta 2 and X. Anything else is a bonus. A sweet juicy bonus.

Is there a reason to be hyped or is it just joke-hype? I don't remember if they showed anything truly mindblowing the last time around...

Maybe........... just maybe...........

Nico.A the one who talked about action game before few month.

Today he twitted about Nintendo Direct...!!!

Yeah but he added, in a following tweet, that he doesn't know if the Wii U exclusive he's aware of will be announced in this Direct. "I hope so" he said.

For those who don't know: we're talking about the French journalist who leaked an unnanounced Wii U Japanese 3rd party exclusive.

Really big new announcements are, in my opinion, a bit unlikely. Not while Nintendo has so much on their plate to talk about.

However, that shouldn't be a deterrent, because more info on Bayonetta 2, X, and Smash should warrant interest alone. We've seen nothing significant of the former two since E3 2013.

People are hyped because the last 'first Direct of the year' was spectacular. There's reason for optimism and just a bit of silliness.

recent directs have been pretty satisfying for those of us with realistic expectations, and there's usually one or two surprises per direct.

plus, some are hyped because there's a good chance we'll see more Bayonetta 2 and X, and also because this Direct will be longer than usual.

Been here since 2005, so no :P But this pre hype Nintendo Direct thread seems bigger than the previous ones, so I thought there was something already announced.
see above

It's the first Direct in about two months and all the major Wii U developers have tweeted about it.

It's a combination of many things. First of all this is the first Direct in a while. Secondly it will be the longest Direct to date. Thirdly some retweets imply that we'll see SSB4, X and Bayonetta 2 there.

It's all X hype

In Soraya Saga we trust

I'm pretty certain while there'll be a few surprises, the biggest news we can expect from this Direct are actual release dates of the announced games; a huge shocker would be either Bayonetta 2 or X being released in the first half of the year

I´m getting my popcorn ready.

If the Bayonetta 2 announcement is any indication....the bitter tears would be delicious !

If this happens (please god!) it will be worth it just for the bitter tears and meltdowns alone, no doubt about that. >:D

Is there a reason why we don't get leaks from Nintendo anymore?
The last big leak I remember is the Project Cafe leak but that was almoat 3 years ago.

If there are some more details about X, I'm happy. Only game on Nintendo's roster I'm really excited about this year.

(Not really a Smash Bros guy, and while DKC and MK look fine, they don't look much different from their previous entries)

Isn't X now almost 5 in development? It's time.

I expect to see FAST RACING NEO in this direct, and also how capable the WiiU is and if Shin-en's assertions about the console's power were exaggerated or if the difference with that past generation is clearly appreciable when a game is properly optimized for the console.

Think that we'll get news of a HD remaster of a Gamecube, Wii and/or 3DS game at this Direct? Maybe a Luigi's Mansion 1+2 HD pack to close the Year of Luigi (or the second game with the first being the first in the GCN VC line).

there are also enough announced games about which we know so little that getting concrete information about them would still qualify as surprising (as in very new):

Steel Diver SubWars

SMT X FE

Yarn Yoshi

FAST

etc.

Looking forward to some details on Mario Kart 8. Hopefully they'll also highlight some nice indie and 3DS games from their partners. We might even get some surprise download titles. Then it's the May Mario Kart Direct and on to E3!

Sooo anything interesting in the 25 Ish pages since I went to bed?

It's a Nintendo Direct thread, so only interesting if you want to hear how hyped an individual is, with the occasional poster coming in with a response of "Meh" only to be shot down instantly.
