Titanfall Gameplay Footage (Embargo Lifted)

Just my crop from twitter:

Cool, thanks again.

Looking at the A.I, yes they do look fairly dumb but what do people want? Do they really want A.I murdering you every time you pop your head out? That would not really separate them from the human Pilots who are allowed to call in Titans etc.
Anyone that thinks the AIs are a complete pushover should go face to face with a drop pod of Spectres. They will drop you.

AIs generally do enough damage to let you know they're there, but not enough to be a serious threat.

My favorite thing about the AIs, is when you run into the little scripted events with them. Nothing crazy, but sometimes you'll be running through rooms and finds the vote doing funny things, like knife-fighting, or tending to wounded comrades.

Have you been playing some more? How's it holding up?

One of the greatest praises I have for the Beta is the level design. While people are complaining about too many danger areas and bad spawns in Call of Duty, Respawn have designed these maps perfectly for the movement mechanics.

Even just in these two maps, there's so much to learn and so many little areas to practice with. They really put a ton of thought into making sure that you can move fluently throughout each area. The limitation is your own skill and comfort with the mechanics.

If we get 12-14 more maps like these two, the game will be golden.

I need to play this on PC - has anyone been playing it on PC?
Yes, it feels fantastic. Plays really nicely on M/K, very easy to move around and chain together wall run combos. Figuring out the best way to get where you want to go is incredibly entertaining.

Aiming feels good, game is pretty well optimized, controls feel good. Graphics are questionable.

My GPU (GTX 590) isn't good enough for the Insane textures, but even on High I definitely saw some PS2 textures. Hopefully placeholders for the Beta, but at this point it seems final.

Those are computer controlled bots..... Yea bots in multiplayer, what a genius idea.....
The idea of bots isn't a bad idea. Just the implementation of them and their importance seem extremely simple. I don't see any push/pull like you would with Dota. You spawn a Titan faster fighting bullet sponges, that is it. Would have been nice if Respawn fleshed out their bot concept more.

They should be a bigger threat than they are now that's for sure. But if players got killed by AI bot a lot more I'm sure there would be a lot of complain about that though.

I love the fact that you start with a TON of ammo, but the game goes by a Magazine system to balance it out. Just when I'm about to run out of ammo, my Titan comes along and I can jump inside to refill.

Well, as usual we tried to record some stuff, and failed miserably. So our real footage will be done later today. But we still got 30 seconds of a Titan fight for you guys, from the Xbox One version. 1080p 60 fps of course.

Thanks for the link. That video looked amazing, better then any of the other ones I had seen posted yesterday. You can really see how much better the textures look from the alpha.

I thought people were probably exaggerating, but the AI and its implementation looks truly terrible. It's really dampening my hype for this game.

I've watched the videos. I've read all of the threads here. One thing stands out to me. People who have no interest in buying this game sure love trashing it.

The graphics suck
It's COD with Mechs
The bots are pointless
6 v 6 will ruin the experience
Etc etc etc

Here's the thing....every single person who has played this game says the same thing: "It's fun as hell." I can't fucking wait to get this game. I can't wait to have fun playing with my friends and strangers online. It seems like a game has to be a grind like Dark Souls or DotA to get any love around here. Let's have some fun people!

Looks addictive. Sure wish they would show some different type of environment though. The maps shown so far have that COD dryness about them, would love to see some other time of day, weather effects or a snowy area.

I feel like I'm going to be calling in my Titan, setting it to follow or guard to use as a distraction or for some potential auto-kills and staying as a pilot the whole time.

Same, sometime I do love to play AI only. Unreal tournament is holy grail for that. :(

i think you guys are looking at the bots in the wrong way. they arent meant to be a replacement for human players. at all. Raide summarized their purpose quite well on the previous page.

Ok. Basic purpose is to help players get their Titan faster. This applies to good and bad players.

They are also there to direct players to where conflict is. A.I heads to objectives, which is what players should do in objective based games. Way too many FPS games have objectives which mostly get ignored by players.

They are also there to keep the flow of combat going. It emulates the franticness of way more players by having 12 humans, 12 Auto Titans and then having A.I runts running around. Its feels more like an actual battle, as apposed to some arena with 8 dudes just gunning each-other.

According to Respawn, the A.I will be there as part of the narrative, as well as being useful to your team/enemy team since you can hack certain A.I to fight for you, thereby creating more difficult waves to force at your enemy, giving you time to get on with the job.

They are also there to make the humans feel good, since they are lowly grunts and you are the Captain that has all the intel and cool stuff. If A.I could do all the cool stuff, humans would be redundant. Think of it as an army where the cannon-fodder is just dumb grunts getting murdered until the leader comes to save the day and attempt to change the tide of battle.

I find myself doing exactly this. Very rarely do I jump in as soon as it drops, but it's very exciting to have it next to you to jump in when an intense firefight breaks out.

Goddamnit, fuckin hope to get a code before tomorrow afternoon, got the day off for it and it would sucks bad to wait Sat-Sun :(

This. Would have been a good idea to add an "online campaign" map too, just to give an idea of how that really works.

Nope. I've had this pre-ordered for months and am looking forward to playing it but the graphics do suck (on Xbox) and I think the bots are pointless.

The bots are filler to have a bit of action while you go from human player encounter to human player encounter. The genius is using bots instead of putting more players in the map.

The real idea is to increase the average survival time of each spawn. I hate CoD maps full of players where you are killed in 2-18 seconds, it means appear, die, appear, die, appear, die again. That's an average of 9 seconds alive. Here it seems they are aiming for being alive for twice that amount, and even a bit when you can call the Titan.

Looks kind of like a lot of other shooters just with added mechs. Not really that interesting to me, but I'm not much of a shooter guy.

Agreed. That's exactly what I hope I can do. I just hope the Titan AI is smart enough to at least be formidable.

Respawn has managed to successfully encapsulate the joy of mech combat in the bite sized world of fast paced, old school Call of Duty multiplayer. The availability of many things to shoot, crush, punch, smash, and burn gives the game a near SHMUP-like thrill of frenetic gun porn. Regardless of console wars, it appears any sane gamer should try to find a way to play it.

Ah, I see. I still like how quick it shoots though. Can't wait to try it for myself (hopefully on Friday).
The Sidewinder is effective versus ground forces, though, which gives it an obvious advantage over the Archer. The Archer does so much damage, though.
