Believe
This game on a HD Nintendo console aka Wii U=Glorious

Now, to desperately try and catch a few hours of twitching, feverish, junkie-going-cold-turkey sleep before the bombs start dropping. My body could never be ready enough.

I'm ready for a freaking 3DS lite announcement, to coincide with a Super Metroid Prime 4 Dread trailer for 3DS and Wii U(by Retro)..Majoras Mask 3DS(by Grezzo)...Super Mario 64 Galaxy style remake edition Wii U(think throwback galaxy but the entire game)...Super Mario Sunshine 2 3DS(by NextLevel)...Wind Waker 2 Wii U...Bayonetta II Wii U Climax Edition with Bayonetta I 1080p 60fps HD included...teaser for DKC Returns 3 for Wii U...Zelda Wii U by EAD Tokyo(with Roc's Cape or Feather flying Link and Pegasus Boots flying Epona)...and account systems:)

So I guess I'm probably actively wishing against what many in here actually want, haha.

Well most of us in here aren't looking for houses of Nintendo execs to burn down either. So I think that is sort of a general rule :p

Serious question: when was the last direct that didnt disappoint?
Let me put is this way, when was the hype completely justified?

Not trying to troll here, im genuinely curious.

Depends on what you define as disappointing. Each ND is basically a series of trailers with maybe new news regarding release dates and possibly a new title or two announced at each one. It's really a matter of "Is this what I want to see?"
So only Metroid/F-Zero/Star Fox fans are generally disappointed

Is anyone really saying this though? It's clear as Crystal Pepsi you enjoy your Vita. I think people just wanted to point it out because you're labeling those who enjoy Nintendo games as fanatics. Can't we just agree that we are all a little fanatical?
Never disagreed with that premise dude!

I don't really go into these with any hype, but the two that stick out for me were the announcement of Hyrule Warriors and the announcement of Luigi's Mansion 2.

BTW since I work at a Play N Trade.
Here are some dates in the computers
I just want to forewarn that dates and prices CAN CHANGE but it's something to look forward to.

ONCE AGAIN don't get overly hyped as prices/dates can change. these are all set by coporate however.
Sonic Boom has a listing in the computer as well but it's dated 12/31/13 so didn't bother and Bayonetta 2 has no listing.

Mhm, I like the way you are thinking; you'll have a bright future on GAF

So I guess I'm probably actively wishing against what many in here actually want, haha.

That must be a first for you

...hah, I just amused myself with the impossibility of a Hotel Dusk/Last Window threequel in the Kyle Hyde saga.

Honestly, if they even mention it for the DS VC, I'll double dip.

now here's a separate list for announcements which are entirely outside the realm of possibility:

  • Yarn Ridley announced for Smash
  • Xenoblade spinoff dating sim - Players will get to know up close all the characters from the complex affinity tree featured in the original, as Riki the Nopon.
  • ExciteWave - codevelped by Monster and Next Level, featuring the cast of StarFox as announcers!
  • Captain Falcon's Tower Defense (eshop)
  • Endless Ocean 3: Wario's Oil Spill Cleanup Crew. Dive into the deep to rescue precious corals and endangered wildlife, then scrub them clean of chemicals and tar in short microgame sequences using the Wii U's touch screen.
  • Trauma Team X Metroid. Lead a crew of Galactic Federation Doctors as you attempt to purge the body of an unconscious Samus Aran of alien infestations. Gain new insight into the Federation's political intrigue as you attempt to balance your patient's health against the need to extract military grade biological samples.
  • Prince Tricky's Brain and Meditation Training and Guide to the Louvre(3DS)

Please, Iwata. Please.

The people who want e3 six times a year are generally disappointed.

Last January and e3 have been the only multi-game-reveal directs I think. So they were probably the last ones to surprise those people.

Other than that, it's usually updates on games with 1 new announcement or so. In that case, it's entirely relative to what games you like. If people loved mario 3d world or were content with a smash newcomer, then some directs have been fun. People only interested in SMTxFE, or X, or Yarn Yoshi, are probably perpetually enraged because we get stuff on those games so rarely/ not at all.

People who enjoy being silly for the sake of being silly have a fun time saying absurd things and posting gifs irrespetive of the direct

See, now I'm just sad that ExciteWave is never going to be a real thing.

Also I'd play the hell out of Endless WariOcean.

This is really gonna reach 100 pages. You poor souls, the train wreck of a direct this will be will devastate us all.
