Are you happy with Smash Bros 4's graphics?

It looks great, but there's also something people are missing... Smash Brothers is about 4 characters on screen, and a LOT of actions on going, with effects and explosions. And yet, the characters models somehow look as good as a game such as Tekken 6 or Dead or Alive 5.
Also, it's about a far zoomed out camera.

Considering there are plenty of shots that make the game look not good ( anything with fox in it ) I would say no .

Where's the HUD, where's the "standard" gameplay angle? Why is everything extremely crisp jaggy-free 1080p at 60 frames even though Nintendo didn't even manage to get New Super Mario Bros running at that resolution?

Nah.

It looks absolutely nothing like an upressed Brawl. Characters are far more expressive, and colours are much more vivid. Bowser in particular benefits from the new art style significantly.

Totally happy with what we have seen so far.

Ok, I'm going to grab a few 1080 screenshots for you so this circular discussion can suddenly end. Give me 10 minutes.

Nah.

Almost all of the snapshots of the game don't even have a HUD. It's very likely they paused the game and used camera mode to take snapshots.

That texture seam in the top image (in the middle of her shoulder pads) is annoying as hell, fix it Nintendo! etc.
Game does look gorgeous though.

These visuals at 1080p/60fps are just perfect. It's the right balance between style and technical performance--which I prefer over bleeding edge graphics when it comes to fighters.

Until you actually play the 3DS one and the camera pans out. It looks good upclose thats about it

The camera in Smash is not always zoomed out, it's constantly moving in and out, so that should hardly be an issue.

We've seen a zoomed out screenshot before, and even then, it still looks good.

EDIT: There hasn't been a 1080p confirmation, has there?

Smash looks fabulous, everything's in a wonderful and coherent style, full of colours.

Honestly you look like a troll.

Maybe he was playing the last game on Dolphin, than he has a point.

Some parts look rather impressive, others look underwhelming

But then again, Sakurai and his team managing to create a game with this scale, amount of content and making it look really coherent visually is impressive at its own; a better looking game would either mean less content or worse IQ/FPS, so I'm fine with it

In a perfect world their main objective would be to create a whole game while at the same time trying to recapture the competitive spirit of Melee

I agree about Marth though ;d he looks amazing

Hey, I'm more for the 3DS game than I am the Wii U game, I'm just saying some of the models are great.

DK, Link and Fox look ridiculously bad and some of the stages need serious work, such as Skyloft.

EDIT: Saw the bolded, I just think it's lacking maybe more detail, I guess? I.E: Skyloft looks really bland, and as mentioned, Pyrosphere looks weird. However, I love the Galaxy stage a lot and Punch-Out arena, but that's on both versions anyway.

Smb 64 to game cube was a huge jump and shockingly brawl was also a big jump but this new one barley looks that different even know wiiu is bigger upgrade from wii then gc tech wise.

Yup. Both versions look amazing. I love how the graphics aren't "plastic" and unnatural like in Melee, but they also aren't gritty like in Brawl.

Some look good some not. Wii U looks good all the time Zoomed in or out. 3DS smashbros looks ok not great in actual moments unlike Wii U. If it was like vita and can do mvc3 vs ps3 version the cool that would be fine but 3DS is not known to have a great screen. Regardless Wii U version is superior in every way cant imagine a serious game playing with the 3DS instead of Pro controller. The slide pad will not be good with this game thats why im extremely happy Nintendo ditched that design in the original Wii U gamepad cause playing smash seriously would of been ridiculous.

Right, here you go (actually saw some images in the press site that I had never seen before. Going to compile them and post them in the Smash Bros thread later)

1920x1080. No signs of up-ressing. All in-game shots as we know that is how Sakurai has been doing them.

Fox looks bad in both version, DK needs some tropical freeze fur texture but looks like his ugly model in both version but I agree Link's TP look is sexy as hell in 3DS version compared to the weird girlish wii u version style sakurai gave him. It's ok if you don't want to buy a wii u for smash, but stop saying the wii u version is inferior when it's not. you know it's not :P

Maybe if he had a Wii U would instantaneously change his mind

You're free to prefer that art style, but I fail to see how it's supposed to look better from a technology standpoint. Which shouldn't really come as a surprise, as it's the same development team working on more powerful hardware. And probably with a bigger budget to boot.

Nah.

This is the in-game camera feature which is standard in these games, which Sakurai has been using to make comical poses and focus on things.

Unless your post is being facetious

Is that SCV? It is indeed a very good looking game, but more realistic art style aside, I don't see the generational gap the poster I quoted was implying when he called SB4 a Wii game.
Also, there is a lot more shit going on screen in Smash games, typically.
And the camera is always pulled back, so its understandable how they work in details in larger strokes.

I'm happy with it, though it could've been better. However, considering it's apparently 60/1080p, and the camera won't be zoomed up close most of the time like in those screens, I have a feeling it's going to surprise me and look great in motion.
Like graphical poetry

Wait, what?

I said the Wii U game was inferior? Can you find me a quote to this BS claim?

I'm stating what looks bad in the Wii U game, for example in the 3DS game, DK looks a bit shitty, as does the Fire Emblem stage.

Both games look decent but have multiple issues and I never once said it was superior on 3DS. Smash is a home console game and there is where it'll be the most fun to play. Smash on 3DS will be better FOR ME because I rather play portable games as I have a very busy college lifestyle, so the gameplay will be better for me.

At the end of it all, both games have the exact same gameplay, so it's not as if one's lacking and the other isn't. Modes will be different, and that's likely all there is to it, but yeah, hardcore Smash is for consoles and more casual play is suited for the 3DS.

I never once said "Smash Brothers. on Nintendo Wii U is inferior!!!!", so please, make accurate allegations. :p

SCV to smash comparison is stupid to me. A 1v1 fighting game vs a battle royale type game??? Let alone the artstyle different. May as well compare drive club to mario kart.
