Show us your gaming setup: 2014 Edition

Here's my current setup (terrible cell phone pic):

BgFG5LXCcAAykeY.jpg

Right now, it's the 2 PS3's (Slim and my backwards compatible fat), and the PS4 is slightly elevated, but sitting on the floor in the front.

My Xbox 360 is RROD'd, and my PC is on the other side of the room.

I absolutely love it. Having the wireless subwoofer next to the couch really gives off the surround sound type experience. Having the sound bar above the TV is more ear level with less things to pass sound around, so you will definitely like it more above your TV,

I've recently thought about getting a soundbar as well, as I don't have room for a proper sound system. Unfortunately the Vizio soundbar, which was deemed better in comparison tests, isn't available over here, so I'll probably get Sony's HT-CT260H, which was reviewed as a second best option. On the plus side, it has a HDMI input and IR repeater. Hopefully the subwoofer won't be a problem when it comes to the neighbors below my apartment, as I usually play late at night.

Awesome setup. I just find the layout a bit odd. I guess I would have put the TV on the other wall, but thats just me.

Well the tv is at the center of the front of the desk. And usually I got my nice chair there at the desk but when my girlfriend comes over I bring in this giant 6 foot bean bag which takes up the whole room. Also, the tv has a wall mount to where I can move the tv any way I want. So it's nice when I wanna game from my bed. I'll post a picture later. What other ways do you think it's odd so I can try and fix it?

Amazing job! I just finished my set up but i can't for the life of me figure out how to hide the power surge wires.

That's one of the hardest parts. I'll take a picture of my surge protector and how I hid it later tonight. I have wires running through the wall and under the carpet. Zip ties are also a huge help

Ohhh I see. That makes sense. Wonderful setup.

I mounted it to my desk like this. Ran all the wires behind desk. I got my console, pioneer receiver, and tv and chargers hooked up to my surge

Oh wow, that's a great idea! I'll probably be copying that and finally clean up under my desk.

It's interesting to see how neat most gamer's setup is. Also, I enjoy the fact that the stereotype of gamers as man-children living in their parent's basement is dispelled.

Gorgeous set up, very nice

Thanks! I cant say enough how mucl I loke the comfysak. That thing is pure heaven! It molds perfectly to your body. It is perfect for watching movies or napping!
The entertainment center really turned out well. I was worried about it being too crowded, but it all seems to work well!

After following this thread for soooo long, I am finally able to post pics of my set up. There are a few things I need to do (like hang some blinds on the window).. but I figured that I have enough done to show you all. This room was new construction on a major renovation that the wife and I did to our house. We added like 1050 square feet and completly remodeled the old half. (Please excuse the crappy cell phone pics)!

When planning this room... the first thing I wanted to do is have privacy. I opted for a fingerprint scanner doorlock. It works like a charm. Also, it keeps the 14 year old stepson that has a knack for destroying everything that he touches out!!!

This pic shows all of my gaming stuff. I have the Xbox one, PS4, Wii U and the PS3 all represented. My game systems and my Sony soundbar are hooked up to my W900A Sony 55 inch LED. My main objective here was to hide cables. I still have a bit of work to do but I am pleased with the progress. I needed a stand for my headphones so I decided to use my Walking Dead Season 2 CE zombie head.

Again... when planning the room.. I wanted to maximize space. One thing I decided on was "in wall" shelving. It gave the room a nice clean modern look. The sheetrock guy did a really good job of giving me just enough shelf space.... I also have a spot for my Walking Dead Season 3 CE and my Lego R2D2.

Seating was a focal point for me. I knew this room would be for watching TV and gaming, so I wanted something comfortable and different. The 7.5 foot comfy sak does the job. This thing is pure comfort!!!! The club chair offers more of a traditional seating option.
The painting on the wall was done by my friend. I am no art critic by any means... but I like it a lot, and the red background makes it pop! The pillows are Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper... The wife got me those for my 40th birthday!

This view is from the door way. Like I said.. I need to get some blinds on the window... but it gives a good view of the low profile coffee table. It matches the entertainment center and as an added bonus... you can slide the top back to reveal a huge storage compartment without having to clear the table off. Also.. for the Lego heads... I got the Death Star! I will start putting that together soon.

So thats it.... I am really happy with it, and I would like to incorporate my PC in the mix as well, but I am waiting for the PS4 to offer 3D playback first... I hope you guys dig it!!!

This beanbag is 7.5 feet long. Big bean bags are sooo comfortable.

I like to keep things simple. I'm keeping my PS3 for PS+ games and media since I'm just not happy with my Roku (which you can see peeking out from under the TV). I've got a wall-mount for the TV ready to go, I just haven't had the time or the help to get it put up yet.

I need to hide the speaker wire in the ceiling too. When we put that room in the basement, we planned for it to be an office but instead decided that a cozy TV room would be better so as such, we didn't plan for 5.1 speakers.

The room is definitely in need of some tidying as well but having a toddler keeps me a bit too busy.

Not looking to win anything, but just wanted to show off my office/mancave.
Well imo you still win lol. Awesome setup. Love the x-men mame cabinet. And love the symmetry and warm home-ly feeling of your setup. Mind if I ask how you made those frames/where you got them exactly. I love them

Finally have a good deal of my stuff unpacked and moved into my new apartment. It's not nearly as nice as some of the setups in here, but I'm quite happy with everything. Comfortable, clean, and plenty of games to play. I'm jealous of those with killer sound systems, those damn nice Herman Miller chairs; and I desperately need to paint and decorate.

TV is a 55" LG GA7900 3DTV with GoogleTV. The sound bar and sub is a Sony "theater-in-a-box" solution - it has really great sound, especially for the price. And I really couldn't get away with anything more boomier in an apartment, anyway.

On the left we have a box of which was used to ship 4 PS2 to me. On the right we have the box that my Ultimate Madoka was shipped to me in.

SCPH-39003 PlayStation 2 with Ghost 2 v2 modchip, Mushihimesama and a Sony KX-14CP1 connected to the PlayStation 2 via an official PlayStation RGB SCART cable SCPH-1052.

Classy fella.

Saw your post in the pick up thread too, really like your apartment. Everything is laid out nicely and I appreciate the colours you've used. What have you taken the pictures with? Maybe it is just the light in your apartment but they seem like great photos.

Hey, thank you, Asiriya! I appreciate the compliments.

I'm very thankful to have lots of light - really large windows and lots of lights on the ceiling; it certainly helps with photos. Though, the camera is pretty great, too, for a point-and-shoot. A Fuji X-10; I'd highly recommend it.

Clean as setup. Me likey

Pretty sick. Is that bin liner in front of the pot noodle?

It is crazy how much I see Ikea in everything. TV shows, Movies, music videos... I have an Ikea problem.

Oh god, this is so true. I was just watching the last Thor movie last night and started calling them out. I never thought visiting a furniture store would actually be a hobby. I didn't understand what all the hype was about until I went there myself.

Dude, why do you have such a sick computer and then hook it up to that rinky dinky 24 inch Sony TV?

Is your receiver sitting on top of your subwoofer?

It is as a temporary fix. I don't think I ever have it loud enough to wreck anything as I'm only ever down there after my baby is in bed. Once the TV is on the wall, the receiver will go on the TV stand.

I think the concern is more that there are magnets in the subwoofer

It'll be magnetically shielded. Not that it's a good idea to put a receiver on top of it, of course!
Yeah, I don't think the magnets would be too much of an issue. My wife routinely leaves her laptop on top of our large SVS sub and it's never had a problem.

That being said, the positioning of the receiver here on top of a small'ish sub would make me a bit worried... particularly with a child around.

Yeah, it's been one of my concerns. My little one is just really starting to get up on things and while the receiver is fairly stable with adults around, it wouldn't take much for her to get into trouble. She's not in that room much and never unsupervised but making space on top of the stand by mounting the TV is on my short list of home projects.
