Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

I am currently addicted to Sub Wars. So is just about everyone else who tries it. That Steel Diver gun now seems like a great addition! But what I really want is a full-blown Steel Diver stage. Imagine if you fight on top of the subs and every now and then, the screen says, "DIVE!" And you have a few moments to rush inside an open hatch and continue fighting inside the sub as it goes underwater. Inside the sub, everyone is prone to a pinball effect, ratcheting up damage. Then when the sub surfaces, everyone goes outside to continue the fight. :)

Allistair Roo's hatred for the idea of a Wonderful 101 rep is bordering on fanatic. :lol

We'll get a Panel de Pon rep before we ever get a Stunt Race FX character.

Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Funnily enough, I was taking a trip down memory lane earlier today to see how my wants list changed between pre-Brawl and pre-4 (current time). It seems like I was pretty cool with Lip just for the novelty of her summoning L blocks and dropping them on people, conjuring viruses from Dr. Mario to sic on people and generally representing the Nintendo Puzzle League with a Smash spin.

Takamaru.png

You do not understand how badly I want this character in. I blame it on watching the totally awesome Kenshin vs. Sojiro fight from Rurouni Kenshin recently, but between that and brainstorming an idea for a "draw and sheathe" swords person for my own pet platform fighter idea, I don't see a situation where a samurai wouldn't bring some hype into the game. For example, I imagine a "gimmick" where one of Takamaru's specials (neutral B) could be dedicated to drawing or sheathing his sword. When drawn, it lets him use nimble sets of slashes for his moves but he wouldn't really have any knockout blows. When sheathed, his normals, tilts and Smashes get ridiculous knock back but a bit more startup as he draws (and sheathes) his blade for every move. What's more, maybe they could go a little further and have it so that pressing B during certain timings could let him quickly switch between a drawn stance and a sheathed stance during his offense or maybe just during his other B specials. Give him a throwing star projectile that has explosive effects and a lightning based move and he's good to go.

Ok, before we get our new image, what are the first characters (of the known roster) you plan on picking, and what is that special you've been waiting for them to be announced characters you are gonna pick first?

Known: Villager. He was my #1 choice when everyone though he had no shot. I was more ecstatic for his announcement over Mega Mans hahah

Unknown: Chibi-Robo :) Hoping he has a chance.

And I saw someone make something like this a couple days ago, and it was pretty awesome so I made my own! Its my Top 5 most wanted newcomers. :)

Tetra would be original moveset without Zelda transformation.

and ironically my most wanted character might have killed the chances of Balloon Fighter. :(

Ironically, your No. 1 requested newcomer, Villager, might have ruined the chances of Balloon Fighter, since he appears to have Balloon Fighter's balloons. :-\

I doubt Baloon Fighter is in ..... BUT

Maybe it is another pic oportunity ? xD

edit : beaten

Hahah yes!!

Villager doesn't use Balloons or Boxing Gloves in the AC games, those are creative liberties on the character. So I'm thinking that those moves were "retro-inspired". In the GameCube game you could play NES games, so it could have been from that.

Another theory I heard was that his moves are based on Mii games. (Wii Boxing and Nintendland (Balloons).

So, in a way, Boxing Gloves didn't deconfirm Little Mac, neither should the Balloons and BF. :)

If you've played Murasame, he has too many abilities to focus on just sword play. His standard attacks could be sword based, but a lot of his abilities are magical like invisibility, fire balls, kunai, windmill blades etc.

Switching from drawn to iaido is a sick idea. Not likely to happen for Smash, but it is a genuinely good idea.

I think that is something that Sakurai would do. Drawn = entire of B moves would based on swords, and sheathed = projectiles such as fireball, lightning, smoke ball, etc.

I'm all for that!

Ok, before we get our new image, what are the first characters (of the known roster) you plan on picking, and what is that special you've been waiting for them to be announced characters you are gonna pick first?

Mega Man/Little Mac, of the known roster.
Mewtwo (I'm predictable)

Curious to see whom people plan on picking. And I def plan on going through whatever Classic/Adventure Mode we have, first. I also tend to do a complete media blackout a week before the games release. No Spoilers.

First of known roster: Marth, Rosalina, Megaman, Pit
Special Character as of now: Megaman

Haven't played it (and would love to), but geez, he's Pit/Samus/Link tier in terms of gear he gets.

YES LYN! Please!

Lyn and Wonder Red (or Bayo) are the only characters I will always want.

I want all three. Hahah

the-wonderful-101.jpg

But I could settle for just Wonder Red.

I WISH Sakurai could figure out a way to have a "Wonderful 101" character that can use most of the Wonder color powers.

Like the Stadards would be Red's Wonderfist attacks. Smashes could be Blue's Sword, and Specials can be Green's Gun, Unite Jelly, and stuff like that.

Recovery is Wonder Jump and grab is Pink's Chain.

Or he could do a switch between the three like Pokemon Trainer but I feel they could do something REALLY creative.

Edit: GOT IT. A unique Wonderful 101 hero called "Wonder Smash"! :) hahaha

Its really easy to make a moveset using Wonder Red as the base, His teamates basically appear as ghosts beside him doing the attacks and then vanishing.

Why Dillon and not the REAL 3DS best-new-nintendo-character?

Where's the love for Mallo?

He's the hero we need!

Wow, he's super-adorable and that game looks like a lot of fun! Will have to check it out when I get home.

Wasn't their an unfinished Toon Zelda character directory in Brawl?

There was! I think it was essentially designed to be a toon "clone" of Zelda/Sheik but Zelda/Tetra instead. Honestly, I would be fine if he ditched the Zelda transformation part and just made Tetra playable.

I loved the duals in that show but the constant monologues and dialogues made a fight last for episodes, like most anime I've watched. And that's a great idea. Just throw in some of his magic abilities when his weapon is sheathed and he's ready to ship out.

Lyn...the dream is somehow still alive.

I'll probably play as Mac first. And by some miracle Syrup but I think she would be an unlockable character. :3
I totaly fell for it back in the Dojo days, I didn't pay attention to the yellow icon (meaning item) when Lyn was announced (as AT). That's why I never board the Smash hype trains anymore, but I will forever wait for Lyn..

I really wanted Lyn in Brawl...but there is no way we are getting her over the new FE people. :/

Yea her chances now are even worse now but Lucina would be a passable alternative.

I feel ya. I also got fooled.lol. But I think it shows how popular she was to even get an AT over Eliwood and Hector.

Here's something I noticed about the new HUD in the Mac trailer: the series icons for each character now have animated fire effects within them.

Just to copy everyone else:

The ironic part? The two that have the lowest chance are the two I want to play as the most (I only want the others because they deserve to be there.)

Ironically, your No. 1 requested newcomer, Villager, might have ruined the chances of Balloon Fighter, since he appears to have Balloon Fighter's balloons. :-\
He ruined the chances for Tingle as well :(

Mallo would work better as a stage.

Tingle, Waluigi, and Little Mac? Add Dixie Kong and you have the same list as me (minus the 'only because they deserve to be there' characters).

So I made a list of all the Assist Trophies from Brawl and compiled them into a list from most likeliest to least likeliest in terms of making the jump to playable on SSB4. In my opinion, of course. Hahaha

1. Little Mac - CONFIRMED
2. Isaac
3. Tingle
4. Samurai Goroh
5. Waluigi
6. Saki
7. Lyn
8. Excited Biker
9. Ray MK II
10. Devil
11. Jeff
12. Kat and Ana
13. Barbara
14. Jill
15. Dr. Wright
16. Knuckle Joe
17. Mr. Resetti
18. Andross
19. Shadow
20. Gray Fox
21. Metroid
22. Hammer Bro
23. Lakitu and Spinies
24. Infantry and Tanks
25. Helirin
26. Starfy - DECONFIRMED
27. Nintendog - DECONFIRMED

Waluigi would cause a bizarre amount of rage and delight. I'd be in the latter group, but I'm confident that there would be quite a few unhappy folks with his inclusion.

I dunno if its been mentioned already but in that Little Mac reveal it looks like Bowser's AAA combo is slightly different, instead of 2 claw swipes it looks like he's punching, similar to his side tilt a little

Interesting list. I generally agree though I would put Ray above Excitebiker and maybe Lyn.

Looks the same to me, just with a hell of a lot more range, which is good.
