This game is never gonna come out, they're still using CG to show it off.
Perhaps the most obvious place to begin is the character models, which are staggeringly detailed and clearly a significant draw on hardware resources. Ru Weerasuriya, chief executive at developer Ready at Dawn, tells CVG that facial animation has become the biggest R&D expense for the project. Such investment has demonstrably paid off, with even the most subtle expressions from each character becoming noticeable indicators of their mood and personality.
This is enriched further by the body animations, which are a testament to the incomparable benefits of performance capture (a technique that Naughty Dog mastered in the Uncharted games as well as The Last of Us).
http://www.computerandvideogames.co...ar-how-the-order-1886-is-defining-the-future/All acting is reacting, goes the phrase, and performance capture allows scenes to be played out 'live' in a mo-cap studio, which brings an organic quality to the way each character moves and stands in relation to one another.
This is complemented further by the cast, who do a tremendous job carrying the scenes. Weerasuriya says it took more than a year to find the right actors for The Order's four main protagonists (Sebastian Malory, Marquis de Lafayette, Isabeau D'Argyll and Sir Galahad).
A single scene with two button presses. Lol.
The reason we see what we see is because, most likely, this slice of gameplay represents the most visually polished and complete portion of the game. And was probably prioritised so they'd have something to show the press.
PR is rarely in the business of showing off half finished, incomplete content that's not going to blow your mind due to graphical polish generally coming in the later stages of development.
So where is my cinematic experience here ? all I see is a linear tps with qte and cutscenes, this is what mean cinematic experience for these dev too ? what a mess...
So you want me to get excited based on what can possibly come later or what has actually been shown? Plus as others have noticed they are still using that e3 CG stuff in trailers. Yeah don't hype things up when you don't have any shit to showGif me the jankyness and sluggishness because i didnt know the game went Gold for anyone to he worried about bugs at this stage. Which part of the QTE looked lame ? There was hardly anything shown apart from graphics to make a judgement. They showed they delivered on the visuals while we saw 10 secs of gameplay of 1 street whereas there is the whole section of exploration and destruction not even shown yet

Even though there's a shit ton of jumping to conclusions here, my friendly advice to developers is if you want to debut your new game to the world for the very first time, a simple, concise no frills gameplay demo does wonders. (see: TLOU)
Didn't you see the shooting sequences? Janky and sluggish. Then those QTE's which looked really lame. Plus the way developer was trying to portray those as some kind of art element... Yeah no thanks. I'm not trying to derail the game unnecessary but it's just that apart from graphics everything seems lame at least based on what I have seen.
UC2 had the best gameplay reveal ever, and one that devs should aspire towards. It started with a whimper, chilling out on the roof of that building, taking a little swim, doing a little platforming on the side of the building, opening to a big beautiful vista, all kinds of gameplay that ends with you BEING INSIDE A BUILDING AS IT'S COLLAPSING.
I didn't expect something quite like that here, but it's easy to say I was expecting MORE.
And a shocking amount of people in this thread saying the QTE's look great.
QTE's are never great.

The most disapointing thing to me is that they did not show their soft body physics in action. I'm sad.![]()
The marketing for this game has been handled horrendously. Someone at Sony and RAD is making poor decisions. It's a disservice to their game (we think) and a disappointment for me.
I like them. In small amounts. However, I can't really say anything about the QTE's here (or the gameplay in general) since we've only seen about 10 seconds total gameplay.
what can be seen doesn't look too hot, honestly. Graphics are great but we knew it already

This is nothing new it seems outside TLoU sony has screwed up the marketing of almost every game. It still baffles me to this day they are treating this game like a established top 10 franchise with such a slow roll out. Looks like waiting for E3 before they really reveal. Which is a mistake this is the dead time of year to get this game on peoples wish lists. Waiting till E3 and being lost in the mosh pit just months before launch is mind boggling. If this game is great and sells poorly this reveal will be the reason. This is a new IP competing against the big dogs for money this fall. They needed to push the hell out of now when nothing else is going on and can have spot light to themselves.
Haha at all the concern and blatant trolling and just plain old salt. This game has better graphics and production values than any other game ever made.
Gameplay looks pretty damn good too. Like an evolution of Gears of War and Uncharted.
They're great in Shenmue and God of War as far as action/adventures go.And a shocking amount of people in this thread saying the QTE's look great.

All the cloth on the characters was soft body physics!
Rad mention that the soft body physics are important to the gameplay. Clothes etc are nice, but they dont affect gameplay. I was hoping we see how it's implemented on the gameplay. All the cloth on the characters was soft body physics!
Graphics are nice, but that's it. I have a feeling the characters and plot will be boring.
What do you mean by "production values"? If you mean just dollar-wise, that's not even close to being true. And best graphics ever is basically a ridiculous claim, for obvious reasons. Which aspects of the gameplay are an evolution of those other games? I didn't see any non-prescripted interaction with the environment (like Uncharted) and we know the game isn't a true squad shooter with coop (like Gears of War).
I'm not questioning you because I think the game's going to be terrible, but I don't think everyone who's down on the game is trolling and you're the only one who can see the game for what it truly is.
I don't get how people are coming to conclusions like the above from literally seconds of game play. How about we wait?
:/
Story teaser had CG in the beginning but why would they show off a lot when the game is coming out way later in the year
Any particular reason for that feeling?
Heh you better stop people going to think you are serioususing it in a story trailer is fine but now they're using CG for gameplay videos as well. Its not right.

Not impressed all. Looks nice, but the three seconds of that qte looks awful.
