Looks gritty to me.They took a victorian era, made it 'dark and gritty' and added large guns. Plus gears of war-like gameplay. Seems pretty obvious to me.

I just listened to Podcast Beyond, and what Colin said was worrying. He said it just didn't seem ready (not nearly as far forward as most games he see's seem at this point) and that a delay wouldn't surprise him..

I was kind of joking, they're talking about lightmaps, which are like textures but for brightness. It would appear that I am ignorant to more than just the abbreviations lol. Thanks tho!
What'll they do next? Make World War II era europe dark and gritty and add in big guns? Have they no shame?Guys, they took a city that is famous for being foggy and overcast and made it all foggy and overcast. Talk about artificial and lame atmosphere.
You can't jump, instead you *thump* the enemies into the air, slide into them and crush them into mush. The game may be many things, but limited it is not.
Bulletstorm. I think I'm going to cry.
RAD already said at the event that is was unoptimized IGN knows this.I just listened to Podcast Beyond, and what Colin said was worrying. He said it just didn't seem ready (not nearly as far forward as most games he see's seem at this point) and that a delay wouldn't surprise him..
@notaxation the build had a few glitches from a last sec audio problem (which of course did not happen in our tests)
@notaxation it runs pretty damn sweet for this stage of development![]()
https://twitter.com/AndreaPessino@jawadoh7 the AI is still rough - we have some amazing people working on it, it will get better soon.![]()

There's still 7-8 months of development left, lots of work to do. If you noticed, he was pretty much the only one out of all the press who was disappointed performance wise. This far out from release, there will be bugs, there will be some glitches here and there. Did you not think the footage looked quite polished at this stage?I just listened to Podcast Beyond, and what Colin said was worrying. He said it just didn't seem ready (not nearly as far forward as most games he see's seem at this point) and that a delay wouldn't surprise him..
Well Colin is a pretty big Sony guy. So I doubt he would have mentioned something negative about the game unless he really felt it needed to be said. The trailer with the members of the Order inside the building and then suddenly you see the creature with its claws out from the side of the room is my favorite trailer so far. I love that they are going this route with the game. Action mixed with Horror it seems. Walking around a dark building with a flashlight not knowing what is around the corner. Could be awesome.
First problem would be that you are listening to IGN. Then your second problem is, you are listening to IGN.
Well it really IS not ready, because they have 8 months left in development.I just listened to Podcast Beyond, and what Colin said was worrying. He said it just didn't seem ready (not nearly as far forward as most games he see's seem at this point) and that a delay wouldn't surprise him..

I have full faith it's coming this fall.
Yo welcome back Bundy.Well it really IS not ready, because they have 8 months left in development.
And if this is not enough, they can delay it. Not really a problem at all.
It's not like the whole game is flawed.
why is there so much brown hasn't this photographer ever heard of color? goddamn everything gotta be brown these days
Guys, I'm pretty sure Walt Disney invented colour in the 50's.If you research it, you'll actually find that the past was not sepia toned like that, that's just a limitation of the photography equipment of the time. Color actually did exist in that era! Don't take my word for it, ask around!
Delaying it past the holiday season would be a big deal though.Well it really IS not ready, because they have 8 months left in development.

I'm pretty sure they said just that. They're focusing on a cinematic, story based approach. And they've said before it was a TPS. We've also known about the cover shooting mechanics.
Posters expressing surprise clearly haven't really been following the game (as is your case) or are just flat out feigning surprise and trying to troll.
I'm sure I'm not alone on this, but this is exactly everything I wanted and expected from the game (as someone who's been following the game), if the Story holds up it'll be great.
Just so we are on the same page, I too was being sarcastici'm pretty sure they invented sarcasm at the dawn of mankind though![]()
FWIW - from the descriptions of the guns I've read, the tech is based on physics research & ideas that weren't unheard of in the late C19th.
Hmm?I never really complained about the guns but come on man now you are amusing...
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/featu...he-history-bending-art-of-the-order-1886.aspxGarret Foster, tech director on The Order: 1886, says, All those pieces of technology for the most part especially with weaponry and things were there in some capacity. You can find this guy in this part of the world invented this piece and this guy in [another] part of the world invented this piece. Someone could have conceivably [combined] the existing technology. Thats what a lot of the weapons are based on: Well there was this guy in Eastern Europe that invented this and this in guy Britain invented this piece. They could have conceivably have met each [combined] those pieces together.
That's why the game is in glorious colour. If you research it, you'll actually find that the past was not sepia toned like that, that's just a limitation of the photography equipment of the time. Color actually did exist in that era! Don't take my word for it, ask around!

Hope they tone it down though way too much color. That's why the game is in glorious colour.
Just so we are on the same page, I too was being sarcastic
I had a good chuckle at both of your responses.
The first preview that broke the embargo mentioned the Deva talking about it during the presentation.I never really complained about the guns but come on man now you are amusing...
HolaYo welcome back Bundy.
Not really. The winter/holiday time is crowded with big games.Delaying it past the holiday season would be a big deal though.

lol!I see even in the Victorian era people thought applying Instagram filters made them an artsy photographer.
Naughty Dog have a reputation that precedes them, so their games will sell regardless. RAD obviously aren't there yet.Hola

Delaying it a few months would make sense, if you ignore the pissing contest between the PS4 and XBone.
Just look at "The Last Of Us". Delaying + releasing it in the 1st Quarter of the new year was the perfect decision for the game and its sales.
lol. and the same people don't complain about elevators in futuristic games. This is up there with Colin Moriarty's comments about out-of-period walkie talkies and use of the word 'rustic'. It's steampunk with werewolves and you're complaining about the guns?

I think the lack of response since this was pointed out speaks for itself. Are you that ignorant of the era? Victorian London was lit by gas lamps, smothered in both fog and smog (at that time the radiant city heat that disperses fog from most of Central London around the Thames by about 6am didn't exist) with a nice layer of coal soot in places that couldn't afford to keep the streets & houses clean.
As for guns - have you ever seen a Victorian hunting rifle or blunderbuss? Huge guns, for bringing down elephants.
True, but still.Naughty Dog have a reputation that precedes them, so their games will sell regardless. RAD obviously aren't there yet.
I never really complained about the guns but come on man now you are amusing...
hahahhahaha....was the victorian era not dark and gritty?...maybe in the rich peoples homes we read about, but everywhere else was literally covered in shit
RAD already said at the event that is was unoptimized IGN knows this.

Games several months out are rarely ready.
RAD said the b-roll had last sec audio problems so that's why.Two notes about the sound:
- Trailer sound, VO and music are all fantastic. It feels good to listen to that narrator speak, and the characters VO, what little is there, is grounded in the scene.
- B-Roll sound on the other hand is terrible, possibly due to a really bad 5.1 downmixing to 2.0. Everything sounds like it was recorded in a phone booth, or at best using a microphone to record the game's sound being played from some speaker in the room. There's part in the end where you can barely even hear what the soldier is saying probably because his voice is supposed to come out of rear speakers, but Youtube just cuts that off.
Suppose it depends how they develop their games. If they're like evolution, they might have the entire thing done, leaving 9 months for AI refinements, framerate optimisations and general polish.
Honestly though, i never expected the order this year, so a delay wouldn't surprise me.
The characters models are unmatched from anything, but something else disturb me, pieces of papers and journals texturized on the ground, something that the last of us do really often. I can understand on ps3 but on ps4 it's ridiculous! Every object on the ground it must be made from geometry and it should move when touched... please Rad fix this before the game come out, otherwise the realism goes to hell!![]()

I have full faith it's coming this fall. Full gameplay demonstration at E3 showcasing destruction and physics.
Everything in the world is rendered with soft body physics,I think that is enough. The characters models are unmatched from anything, but something else disturb me, pieces of papers and journals texturized on the ground, something that the last of us do really often.
