Twitch Plays Pokemon Thread 2 - Don't Forget: You're here forever

Well here's my idea as to what to do:
1. Heal at Lavender Town Pokemon Center so we don't go back to Saffron. AGAIN!
2. Go to the Pokemon Tower and grind Drowzee and Digrat. Pidgeot can't hog EXP against Gastly.
3. Grind till we evolve both Pokemon. Drowzee evolves at level 26. Rattata evolves at level 20. God knows if we will even be able to evolve them know. May Helix be with us.
4. Conquer the tower.

Actually I just realized, doesn't the B button cancel evolution? How did we even manage to evolve anything?

This thing may have inadvertently created the world's first fully-accurate artificial intelligence model of one of Earth's species.

This is exactly what would happen if a squirrel could play a video game.

Ah, I'm finally settled down in front of my computer for the evening. I'm going to pop in a pizza, listen to some delicious melodies from the new Donkey Kong game, and follow the stream and this thread.

I'm not sure just how many of us realize, in the midst of all this, just what a fond memory we are collectively creating for ourselves. This whole ordeal will be something we all think back on and chuckle at decades down the line, so take a moment to truly appreciate the fact that we are living it right now :)

I can't think of a more wholesome, pure sense of joy I've gotten from the Internet ever. Literally, in my years and years of spending multiple hours every single day online, this is the highlight. Of that whole, entire experience.

It helps that I have been playing Pokemon since Red and Blue, and that it's still one of my favorite game franchises. It also helps that I get to go along for this ride with my GAF brothers and sisters, who have given me a community to enjoy for the past six and a half years. And, of course, it definitely helps that TPP has given memes a new purpose to exist, and has proven that Internet-specific humor can still bring about some of the most satisfying laughs ever.

Mother of Pidgeot, this is getting sappy. Am I on shrooms or something? The entire point of this post is to say be mindful and appreciative every time you look at the stream for this game, because it is truly one of those bizarre, one-of-a-kind experiences that proves why life is a beautiful thing to have :D

No, no, these words definitely hold true.

Yeah I was thinking about this today, we don't really all watch the same shows anymore, everyone's streaming something different, same thing with music. But with this nearly a 100,000 people all come together to experience something together and enjoy it. That's amazing.

They're trying to get back to democracy so we can rename Pidgeot to Bird Jesus.
...That's lame. Why?

Has anything happened since learning psychic or just a lot of failed grinding?
Pretty sure we've just been failing for the past few hours

Is there a summary of this anywhere?
Check resources in the OP, they might have one, but I don't know of any myself. Maybe it's being worked on (we do have live updates on Reddit)

Absolutely. I hope we can all succeed at the end very triumphantly and earn more positive attention. This really is something special.

I feel the same way, even if I'm a bit burned out. It's so exciting seeing this develop from that first day I was watching when we couldn't even get out of Cerulean.

Honestly at this point in time it's just a matter of time until they release Bird Jesus.

I wouldnt get attached to any pokemon anymore at this rate

This is so, so beautiful. And as you say, this may very well be history in the making. And we are a part of it. Everyone that's here, from those who were day on day one to the ones that will come for the last fight with Blue after beating the Elite Four, including people who heard about it, watched it for 2 minutes and then totally forgot about it. All of us are taking part in this event.

TPP is like that time in the primary school when I was in 4th grade, and I used to go pretty much every afternoon to a friend's house and play Poke Blue together on his PC (had the game on an emulator, until he managed to get a Game Boy with Yellow, which we also played for a while). So many memories, and this is just like that, only with 40000x more people, and all pressing buttons at the same time. So yeah, beautiful <3

I agree with all of this. I will never be able to look at Pokemon the same way again, in a good way.

I gotta say, the saddest part about all this is that, while I have been more moved to play my copy of Blue (or find Red, Yellow and my GBC), it has done nothing to make me finally get the second badge in X.

Heh, I had my own moment of random nostalgia and appreciation yesterday night. Good times were had with this series. It's awesome to be able to relive them in a new, unprecedented, and totally unexpected way.

No, no, these words definitely hold true.

Damn straight; millions of people coming together to play one of the most important games of all times and the game most influential in making me who I am as a gamer today in such an unorthodox and amusing way makes me feel all tingly inside in the best way.

And we are all here experiencing it with you buddy! I love this thing. It's the quintessential social experiment, and is really amazing when you boil it down.

Agreed. This experience thus far has really been awesome and definitely one I won't forget. Experiences like this don't come around very often so its nice to be appreciative and enjoy them while they last.

Pokemon bringing people together since 1996. :')
