Taking WAY more PEDs than Knuckles *smh*

Ah, I'm finally settled down in front of my computer for the evening. I'm going to pop in a pizza, listen to some delicious melodies from the new Donkey Kong game, and follow the stream and this thread.

I'm not sure just how many of us realize, in the midst of all this, just what a fond memory we are collectively creating for ourselves. This whole ordeal will be something we all think back on and chuckle at decades down the line, so take a moment to truly appreciate the fact that we are living it right now :)

I can't think of a more wholesome, pure sense of joy I've gotten from the Internet ever. Literally, in my years and years of spending multiple hours every single day online, this is the highlight. Of that whole, entire experience.

It helps that I have been playing Pokemon since Red and Blue, and that it's still one of my favorite game franchises. It also helps that I get to go along for this ride with my GAF brothers and sisters, who have given me a community to enjoy for the past six and a half years. And, of course, it definitely helps that TPP has given memes a new purpose to exist, and has proven that Internet-specific humor can still bring about some of the most satisfying laughs ever.

Mother of Pidgeot, this is getting sappy. Am I on shrooms or something? The entire point of this post is to say be mindful and appreciative every time you look at the stream for this game, because it is truly one of those bizarre, one-of-a-kind experiences that proves why life is a beautiful thing to have :D

Damn straight; millions of people coming together to play one of the most important games of all times and the game most influential in making me who I am as a gamer today in such an unorthodox and amusing way makes me feel all tingly inside in the best way.

Has lots of errors in the early parts unfortunately.
The beginnings of the adventure aren’t well documented, due to the small number of viewers early on. What is known is that the character’s name is Red, and he started with a Charmander, that was named ABBBBBBK (.The fans decided to refer to her as Abby. The character stumbled his way through the early game, picking up two Rattata. The first of which had no nickname, while the second was named JLVWNOOOO. He was called Jay Leno by the fans. They also picked up a Pidgey, which also received no nickname. Brock was disposed of at an unknown time. Red eventually made his way Route 3, where he found, and somehow caught a Spearow. He headed into Mount Moon, where he found a Moon Stone, and a Nugget. Unfortunately, both were tossed and the fans were outraged. RIP Nugget and RIP Moon Stone are common phrases even today.
JLVWNOOOO was caught after Mount Moon and Spearow wasn't even caught until after Drowzee was. I wasn't there when Digrat was caught, but it wasn't caught at the same time as JLVWNOOOO either.

The group then beat Misty, at 1 day, 19 hours. Shortly after, the team made their way down to Vermillion City.
Ha ha, "shortly".

I didn't even read since I remember most of it. My bad. It's the best we have, though.

Damn, still haven't got to the fifth gym leader? lol
Rocket HQ proved to be the worst challenge so far and most of our team is useless in Pokemon Tower. Two big roadblocks until we get the Pokeflute and wake Snorlax (Which IMO shouldn't be that bad). After that, we have smooth sailing to Fuchsia City and Koga's gym.

Yeah, it's still mostly accurate especially after it reaches the Ledge of Doom and the Rock Tunnel.

And then.... Safari Zone. D:

And we are all here experiencing it with you buddy! I love this thing. It's the quintessential social experiment, and is really amazing when you boil it down.

I just noticed that the original thread was moved to the GAF forum archives. That's an honor that gets bestowed upon an extremely select few threads, so I guess we should all feel proud of ourselves.

Agreed. This experience thus far has really been awesome and definitely one I won't forget. Experiences like this don't come around very often so its nice to be appreciative and enjoy them while they last.

Pokemon bringing people together since 1996. :')

Man the OP for the new thread is great. Haven't been able to get here for a while so I didn't even realize we were on a second one lol.

Beautifu **manly tears**

Hmm, the Spearow was caught before the Drowzee. It was traded for the Farfecth'd in Vermilion, way before the Drowze... or so i remember.

It might have been (Although I remember the excitement about Drowzee happening beforehand). It was definitely caught on the same route as Drowzee and not before Mount Moon. They were both caught after a Pokemart visit for some Pokeballs. Drowzee was definitely caught before Dux was traded.

I love this stream so much. What a wonderful social experiment and a wonderful experience for everyone to come together and have. It gives me joy every time I open the stream.

Man, you all are just the best. Praise be to the helix for how awesome GAF is!

I haven't bought a video game themed t-shirt since early high school (I've graduated college now), but I might have to throw money down for one commemorating this event. I need SOME sort of material object to honor the occasion. Is anybody selling posters of some of the fanart for this yet?

Anybody have the video with reactions for when Flareon was released and the first battle against Giovanni? I'm sure we'd all like to see that.
