I've spent the last 6 hours at work, whilst working, trying to catch up on the new thread (basically went to bed as the old thread got closed).

i made it like 6 pages in.. It's too much, i want to read it all but its impossible, cutting my losses and starting about 5 pages back from where we are to catch up.

I see we had a flurry of activity though, new pokemon caught, new pokemon released, drowzee just learnt psychic which is really awesome!

The best way to beat this is the Rock Tunnel approach; keep throwing ourselves at it with each trainer defeat counting as a victory.

The game being played has to be highly tolerant of the player making mistakes. Pokemon sends you back to the last checkpoint you hit, but doesn't reset the world state or cost you exp, so even guided chaos can progress given enough time. If it were difficult in the slightest or had real consequences for failure, this wouldn't work.

I just noticed Registeel and Regice in that avatar. That's adorable.

Just checked, and the only non normal damaging moves drowzee has left is psyave from tm46 from sabrina and poison gas from level up 29 for drowzee and higher for hypno

So are we going to be in a purgatory of pidegot fighting a ghastly he can't hit while the ghastly has it's accuracy lowered and can't hit either and it's a trainer battle so we can't run

Would it be possible to actually "lock" the game this way; can we actually reduce Ghastly's accuracy so low it becomes actually impossible for him to hit, and since nothing we can do can hurt ghastly, and we can't run, we're basically screwed forever?

Or is there some accuracy "floor" below which accuracy can't go that prevents this from happening?

Even if democracy took over what could it do? I don't think Lick or Night Shade can hurt Pidegot in gen 1 and confuse ray has to not only hit though all the accuracy downs caused by 6 sand attacks, but it then requires pidegot to hurt itself which I believe is 25%.

That's something I love about X/Y, it only sounds twice. Don't know if it was added on previous games, haven't played any since Emerald (except for 15 minutes of Platinum).
