Twitch Plays Pokemon Thread 2 - Don't Forget: You're here forever

Where did the "keeper" nickname originate from?

No matter, I love it.

How many of you are going to use pokemon like Drowzee, Pidgey, and Omanyte on your next Pokemon playthrough because of this?

And Cynthia its Lightning, showing up places that were obviously lacking without her awesomeness around

Oh come on, just because the fanbase can make her creepy doesnt make her that bad. I mean, Lance and Steven trump her, but Cynthia comes pretty close. And likely has the best and most balanced team from a champion, aside from maybe Blue in this game.

I sort of liked Alder, and hated Iris.

Red is the best though. He's 11/12 and living on Mt.Silver by himself, telepathically communicating with his pokemon with an awesome theme, great team, and being the trainer with the highest level pokemon in the entire series. Realy shows what all he can do without 70,000-120,000 people in his head controlling him

He probably lives in isolation in Mt.Silver after this journey specifically, and its ironic that the next person he evr meets and hears is also mute

He's called The Keeper because he was deposited when Flareon was deposited. People took this as he was "keeping the False Prophet locked away" and when Flareon was eventually released, Drowzee was successfully withdrawn somehow.

Actually Drowzee and Hypno have never been able to learn Dream Eater naturally. They have always need a TM.

Welp. Hypno learns poison gas at lvl 33 though, making our movepool a lot better. Even if we forget psychic, hypno re-learns it at lvl 37.

Unless the chat decides to unlearn everything.

lolwut

Cynthia's actually a fun fight because she uses varied and balanced teams. I never got why people complained about her being in other games when having more post-game content in Pokemon is usually a good thing and she tends to be the most popular Champion in polls (Along with Blue).

Also, she doesn't pretend to be a Dragon type specialist while using 3 Dragons and 6 Flying types. :P

Once we've had a cameo of Giovanni sitting retired on a beach somewhere awaiting challengers with a team in the 90s, Cynthia is entitled to as many cameos as she pleases. Until then, I'll be sad that she's become the most-recurring side character.

As funny as that comparison is I actually really like Cynthia. Alder I didn't really care for--rather, I cared much more about beating N than this slightly washed up guy with Yu-Gi-Oh hair. I mean, dude was alright, but, meh. Seeing Iris move up was neat, but not as much impact as Blue, Lance, or Red.

Heh, merely a joke. She's definitely Top 3.

sped through the thread to catch up on the 20 or so pages.

that twitch plays pokemon intro some one made is incredible!

also the encounter rate here is too silly. but good for grinding I guess.

The most recurring side character is Professor Oak.

Also, Blue is much more recurring if you include remakes.

Blue has a horrible team in Red and Blue thanks to using level-up movesets, but it did get a lot better in the remakes.

Lance is a cool-looking cheater with a shitty team and Steven... Is actually a pretty fun fight. Too bad he's more boring than even Cynthia.

Alder is cool with an unfortunately weak team sans Volcarona, Iris is a nice change of pace but I honestly don't feel anything for or against her.

I'd say Blue is my favorite champ.

It's scary watching this, and realising that red is generally moving in the correct direction on each floor.

Everyone is getting good at this.

I'm actually kind of surprised there's no joke or meme about Squirtle and Bulbasaur, having to hear their cries (of encouragement, or mocking) after every event in the Pokedex.)

Blue's my favorite champ simply because of the premise. I don't think his team was really bad though.
Yeah, it's pretty hard to beat that moment of beating Lance and then "...or at least, you WOULD have been, if it weren't for this guy." "SUP DOUCHE, WHAT TOOK YA SO LONG?"

I was thinking of the remakes, G/S, and HG/SS for Blue
Lance is horrid de to hyper beam (which if we manage to get and teach to pidgeot in this game there's no recharge if you make your opponent faint with it)

Steven's cool and a better fight ala Red in G/S in Emerald. But Wallace man. My 1st game was yellow, but the 1st pokemon game I really played through was Saphirre.

I had a REALLY high leveled Blaziken, a Kyogre right behind it, and a decent Medicham, Walrein, and a few others.

Kyogre got taken down by that Ludicolo and I was sweeped.

Easier to move with less people with a majority spamming Anarachy/Democracy. Also, Blue is my favorite as well, his theme is quite possibly one of the best. Just imagine you're fighting Lance whose theme is great as well just to get a better one with Blue. I remember connecting it to my speakers just to enjoy it more.
