Ugh, we're going for Zapdos? Why? There's no way we're ever going to get it.
That's when a lot of major media outlets picked it up which only happened because of the people who made it popular in the first place. But the interest of many of the people who were playing in the beginning waned with the introduction of democracy mode, and those links are proof of that. That is the point I'm making.

Shoulda just used it on Snorlax, and here comes hour after hour against out mortal enemy.
I don't think it is just that though. The whole novelty and fun of the stream was the fact a Pokemon might get released, or we might mess up over and over and justtttt as you think you finally get through a tough area, someone says down.
The dread, the fun, the chaos of it is no longer really there because there is a cheat switch. Most of the people who I knew watched the stream don't bother anymore because it is just a tug of war with some actual gameplay sprinkled in.
I understand the need for the democracy mode in some ridiculous parts, the ledge did become ridiculous.. But I think democracy should be switched off by the streamer till such a time that it is desperately needed.
Why? If the mode had been there from the beginning or if it had been created as a separate stream it would not have happened to the same degree. Clearly everyone has individual agency in this, but the one with the most power over the direction the stream took was the streamer.
Basically, the chat was split between the people who wanted to get Eevee and evolve it and those who didn't, and it was partially due to Eevee that Red had to access the PC and ended up releasing Abbbbbbk( and Jay Leno.
Still, I'd much rather have the stream work like this all the time than it going democracy mode as soon as Red gets stuck with the simplest of challenges. Clearing stuff is fun, Red being a nutjob and getting stuff wrong a thousand times makes it that much sweeter when he succeeds in spite of all the crazyness going on.
Even with 50K watchers, the stream managed to get into and out of Erika's gym more than once, which shows that even heavily specific actions can be done given enough time. I agree that the game corner hideout was a bit too much, though.

Trying to get Zapdos seems like sheer lunacy, the odds of running away or killing it are TOO DAMN HIGH.
I just say let the chat do it at this point, kill the bird and get on with the run.

The democracy hate doesn't really make sense to me. Its hardly ever actually in effect, every time it does get voted up it gets voted back down within an hour. That and its not like there aren't still more then enough people typing directional inputs to keep the game moving. Its a complete non-issue, and other issues like a slow down of progress are being caused by other factors like the fact that most of the team are underleveled, and a sag of general excitement is caused by the fact that nothing overly exciting like the flareon incident has happened in the last few days. Its unlikely that peak is going to be reached again honestly. Maybe when we attempt to revive our lord.
Probably not very long. There are a huge amount of people who don't even want to catch Zapdos and just want to move on.
Last I saw the stream, they were failing badly on the daycare ledge in Anarchy. Did they make progress beyond that?

Problem is, they can't really go back easily now. In order to go back, there's another ledge they'd have to cross.

Nope. Even in democracy they couldn't, they wanted to deposit ATV but they failed. Then anarchy took over pretty quick and left the building

Stream already was divided with the lapras/Eevee debacle. That was a mess and when i began to lose interest in the main stream.

We should really just focus on getting the last two badges and defeating ledge 2.0.

I'm surprised they didn't switch to democracy yet. Last time probably was so disappointing that they're not even trying again.
I went back to Y (already beat the Elite Four), deposited a pair of 'mons in the day care and captured a bunch I didn't have. I can't believe Nintendo isn't capitalizing on this by releasing the old titles on the eShop, but then again we're talking about the company that still hasn't released any SNES or GBA game on the 3DS Virtual Console.
