WWE Elimination Chamber 2014 |OT| The End of an Era and the Rise of the Viper?

Well, Rock/Cena did win MOTY at the Slammy Awards this year. And according to Meltzer et al, those awards aren't worked. So, there ya' go. I think people highly overrate how "good" a match has to be, for the average fan to like it. The average fan watched Hogan formula matches for a decade before burning out on it.

The only reason it won is because Bryan vs Cena and Brock vs Punk weren't nominated because Punk couldn't have had a better match with Brock than HHH lol

Right now triple h is Daniel Bryan t shirt as toilet paper right before he takes Randy, Dave ,nao all out for dinner to laugh at all the internet hate being thrown at them. Long live the king !!!!

Am I part of the problem if I don't actually watch the WWE but love following GAF's reactions and summaries? =P

Again, you're highly overrating the average fan. 1 million people bought Wrestlemania, likely mainly for Rock/Cena. About 400,000 (I think) bought Summerslam, and maybe half of that was for Punk/Brock. Just that tells me there was far more interest in R/C and far more people saw that match.

Rock/Cena I wasn't that good at all, but Rock/Cena II was a perfectly respectable match. There were plenty of reaction during both matches, but it was an open air stadium and a mixed crowd, so it was a little less obvious.

Regardless, if the paying crowd didn't want to see Rock/Cena, maybe they shouldn't have bought tickets or left during the advertised main event. There's a reason why Rock/Cena got over a million buys each. Because the casual fan wanted to see that match and likely actually really liked it (see the Slammy results this year).

Miz vs Cena also got 1M buys. So did Cena vs HBK/Taker vs Batista, Cena vs HHH vs Orton/Taker vs Edge/HBK vs Flair.

I seriously can't believe some of you -still- think Bryan will be in the WM main event. Hilarious really.

He'll face Triple H at WM and lose clean.

They will never learn. I remember when these same people were saying last summer when HHH screwed Bryan at Summer Slam that this all apart of the plan. They said that "Bryan would win the Royal Rumble and go on to beat the Authority and win the championship at WM30". Guess what, that's not happening. You were wrong then and you're wrong now.

I can't believe there's no gifs of the fans.

It would be interesting to dig up the WrestleMania thread where Sheamus beat Daniel Bryan in 10 seconds and see how many of the people who bitched about that are still bitching about Daniel Bryan losing today.

I don't even get what you're trying to get at. Thats a logical stance to have, one realizes that Bryan could have been a star 2 years ago and now thinks he should have been in the main event of a Wrestlemania instead of the most boring superstar in the WWE and Batista.

Current booking totally justifies not getting the network.

Totally.

It's not stupid as shit in any way.

Well you see, not getting WWE Network means Rassle-GAFers are voting with their wallets. And it's the only way they can do that because it's not like they pay for the pay-per-views.

The 10 second loss definitely helped Bryan's popularity.

And he will be in the main even of WM. WWE is not going to have a match end WM XXX they KNOW the crowd is going to shit all over. Plus, who is going to buy the WWE Network in the first month? IWC, that's who. And they'll get that many more buys with DB in the title match.

And it will be better that way. Did you really want the huge Bryan payoff to be at Elimination Chamber? It would have been a bit anti climactic considering everything he's done the past 8 months.

Well supposedly there will be a title change tomorrow on Raw so that would be just as if not more insulting to fans who actually pay for the product.

Any one else find it awkward that Road Dogg says "Degeneration X proudly brings to you..." when DX is really together anymore?

I like to think that you can't teach an old dogg new tricks.

If you're not watching the product, then I actually have more respect for you than the rest of the whiners who complain about the product, but are going to be buying the network tomorrow morning. Even though, kind of weird you're spending your Sunday night complaining about the writing of something you're not watching anymore. I'm not about to go into a How I Met Your Mother or Dexter thread and complain how they've ruined a show I'm not watching anymore.
It's a little bit different than that.

If people don't watch How I Met Your Mother or Dexter those shows get cancelled. Complaining doesn't serve any purpose. You take what you get or go watch something else.

If people don't watch the WWE, it doesn't get cancelled. If anything, it's what will motivate the WWE to make positive change and get Vince out of a position where he can harm his company. So, yeah, encouraging others to not pay the WWE money for a half-assed product is worthwhile. It's the only way to get a better product down the road.

After all, if the booking is awful and most PPVs end in disappointment but people don't vote for their wallets then why would the WWE ever bother to do anything differently?

The most disappointing plot development is that it doesn't seem like there will be a Shield/Wyatt rematch at Mania. That was awesome and I want more dammit.

I'm glad Bryan lost tonight. I'd prefer him to win it on the grandest stage of them all. I don't know why anyone is upset. I can already see the crowd reaction if a 3 count were to happen and he won the title at Wrestlemania.

If they did that then I would agree with you. Especially the last true PAY per view they should have let the loyal fans who PAID for it see the title change. But, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I got two matches tonight better than probably anything on WWE PPV through the entire mid-90's not involving somebody with the last name Hart or Michaels(only being slightly snarky). Why shouldn't I be satisfied? Because they didn't do things exactly how I wanted in the main event?

The booking isn't awful. It isn't great. In some parts, it actually is great (ie. The Shield breakup and the Shield/Wyatt feud). But, anybody who thinks WWE booking is actually awful should go back and watch WCW after the Finger Poke of Doom or most of the Russo era of TNA. That's actually badly booked professional wrestling. This might be wrestling booked to amuse the people in charge, but it isn't bad or horrible by any means.

rumored that it's in Batista contract that he wins at mania, Bryan could be in it but he'll lose again and the fans soul will further go into Barrets dream diary

When D.Bry wins at mania, there will more tears of joy than when macho reunited with elizabeth.

At this point i'm pumped for both options. D Bryan gets in the match and wins, or they really do go with Batista vs. Orton and the boos are magnificent. Win win for us.

uhm, with this the wrestlemania title match has been decided and it doesnt include Bryan

If this happened in lose my shit and start watching wrestling again.

Speaking of which, who is going over the NAO at WM? I assumed it would be the Usos thinking there would be some shenanigans tonight, but it was a clean win. So, um, the Rhodes Brothers? Highly unlikely they break up at this point at Mania, anyway. Maybe they win the titles back and try and build something where they fight at Summerslam.

Ryback and Axel are winning those titles at WM.

Or Miz and Ziggler.

If D.Brine's winning anything tomorrow, it's 15 minutes after RAW goes off the air and only available on a WWE Network broadcast.

I will laugh hilariously if Bryan/Orton is the main event tomorrow and the ending is only available on the WWE network. It will truly prove Vince is an evil genius.
