OK, I'm convinced. Bought!

Does this game include all of the effects from the original Gamecube game that were missing from other ports and does it look better than the HD version on ps3/360??

No, the specular highlights (wet textures) and the DOF (blurring) are not available since those rely on specific Gamecube hardware.

There are better textures than the PS3/360 version, and the first time the game has been at 60 fps.

Do you get the steam preorder bonus if you buy the key off GMG?

Edit: According to the GMG page, you do get the bonuses.

It's true. Losing specular highlights is a big deal for a lot of objects in the game. Here's hoping some awesome modder can patch something together.

I agree, and I'm very much one of those people who find the GCN/Wii versions to be the real versions of the game, the best ones. I think the game looks best on a CRT SD or HDTV, running on that hardware.

I'm curious to see how I feel about the 60fps, that may very well be more noticeable once it's missing than even the specular highlights, as normally playing anything at 60fps and then going to a 30fps version really sucks.

The photo-sourced textures become painfully obvious at higher resolution, which I would hope this port would fix somewhat with its remastering.

I downloaded the water room video and it seemed to be running slow on my PC. Like, Leon's legs weren't moving as fast as they should.

I was so excited when I first heard about this I pre-ordered this game weeks ago even though I wasn't sure if my crappy laptop could run it! This is one time I don't mind Capcom milking an existing franchise!

I've been keeping up on all the news on the steam discussion page and reading wbacon's juicy tidbits as he just dangles RE 4 in front of us, like...a piece of bacon!

If it doesn't work on my computer I might shed a tear or two but at least I'll have it for when I get a new one and plus I'll have the artbook and soundtrack.

Does anyone know if I could I run this game, even on the lowest possible settings and resolution and with the SD texture pack?

I have a laptop and I think I pass every requirement except the graphics/video card. I know this is in HD but it's also a much older game from 2005, so I'm hoping it will works so I don't need to go back to my PS2 version.

Here are my System Specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium (64 Bit)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 6.00 GB
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family-------------------------Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

I can run Skyrim, Resident Evil 5, Dead Island, Dishonored, Mortal Kombat: Complete Edition, Dragon Age Origins and more.

I am able to run Dishonored which has a minimum graphics card requirement of DirectX 9 compatible with 512 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850), which is much higher than the video card listed as required for this.

My computer is also capable of running RE 6 and 5.

This is an extremely old game originally made for the gamecube and I think the system requirements might not be nearly as high as they state, is it possible I could play this?

Thanks for all the help!

Also would it be possible for someone to make a mod with Leon wearing a Fedora? :)

If you can run RE5, probably, if they did a good job with the optimization of the port.

Not gonna be smooth and I really doubt 60FPS. I had an HD2000 on my old laptop and it can barely play DMC4.

Is it just me, or does the game not suit 1080p ultra-sharp visuals? The GameCube version had this rough look to it that I think helped it...it's just so weird to see it so polished.

I couldn't resist buying this game for the 5th time to play it on my PC. Thanks for those that posted that GMG info, I just picked it up a minute ago for $15.00. Should be a great weekend.
