Infamous Second Son has gone gold

This game could not come out soon enough. I've had my PS4 for like a week now and I'm already bored to death by it. I don't know why I always prioritize being an early adopter...it's always like this.

Can't wait for this game! I'd imagine Sucker Punch will be getting to work on the next Infamous game in a few weeks. I can't imagine they want to risk all being fired by trying a new IP.

I almost fell off my chair and cracked my skull when I read your first sentence. Reading the rest of it prevented a cardiac arrest. Phew! Close call!

such narrow-mindedness. passing on a game because it has no dynamic time. smh.

I don't honestly believe that someone who would reject a product based purely on it lacking a day-night cycle was ever seriously contemplating a purchase to begin with. Just my opinion.

If you're a racing fan and you bought an Xbox One, you'd be a complete weirdo not to buy Forza 5 just because it lacks a real day-night cycle.

Should've bought the system when there was something for you. Cause there is plenty of games to play.

Seriously. Day and night cycles are fairly overrated and tend to be short cycles in games like this so I don't really get the appeal personally. I'd rather them set mood appropriately.

Is going to sell a lot. No competition from any other title, around 6 million consoles sold. I predict 1 million in the first week WW. It's going to crush Infamous 1 and 2 in sales.

Bored PS4 owner here. I'm gonna buy an Xbone in anticipation of Titanfall this week. Would not say inFamous has no competition.

I hear ya...kinda debating picking up Killzone but it' got middling reviews so I've been holding out for Infamous.

If you didn't like the other KZs, you'd better stay away. Same slow tech fest with bad story in sp. Can't speak about mp.

I think I prefer the handcrafted times of day to a day-night cycle mainly because you can get some really crazy lighting scenarios going on that way.

Just wait for inFamous.

I got Killzone and I've been having to force myself to play it. It's not bad by any means, it's just not all that good either. Pretty standard FPS experience.

What the hell happened to Driveclub? It was originally a launchtitle and Infamous beat it to gold status?

It will relaunch with the PS VR Headset, that is the only explanation I can think of. We used to have Rushy on here, sharing all types of information, conversating. Then BOOM, he disappeared. I think it has something to do with them working on VR, and since it (the VR Headset) is unannounced, they are keeping everything close to the vest at this point.

Lol why do people keep saying this?
How about the more likely explanation that they just over promised and are now playing catch up?

I saw a headline this morning that said the infamous bundle was outselling the Titanfall bundle. Is there any validity to that?

That doesn't really answer my question... But whatever.

I just don't think we have seen anything that would lead us to believe that the performance gains have been so good as to allow for a steady frame rate let alone what would be needed for VR.
but we digress, yea Infamous.

They're rebuilding it into an open world racer like Forza Horizon. Mark my words.

I honestly can't think of anything else at this point.

On topic: only a couple weeks left till Infamous. Day-fucking-one.

If it simply needed polish, It would have come out by now.

This long delay points to the game getting bigger. Adding more stuff.

If the game didn't look so good I would say they were trying to get 60fps too, but I don't see it happening. Not with the IQ they are pushing.

Well I didn't buy an Xbox One, I am a racing fan and a Forza fan (still didn't buy 4 because not enough new content) but Forza 5 did become a less appealing game because it didn't have a day night cycle. That type of game especially needs a day night cycle (for me) because the tracks are static and you are going to be playing those tracks over and over and over again and the fact that many of the tracks are repeats, it becomes stale even faster.

inFAMOUS on the other hand, is fine if it doesn't have a day night cycle. It's a completely new environment, there are various times of day in the game, and you are free to do whatever you want. It's not like you are limited to a preset track.

Would it be awesome if it had a full day-night cycle? of course. Is it a big feature that effects the replayability of the game? Not to me. It is something that effects replayability for me in a game like Forza though.

Of course dismissing/not buying Forza ONLY on the lack of a day-night cycle would be ridiculous though.

Is it me or is Sony not [edited, sorry] doing much marketing for this game? I saw a new gameplay spot a few days ago but nothing out of the ordinary (like say, Uncharted 3/The Last of Us marketing).

Is this coming in a few weeks now?

Isn't that a commercial?

Also the Sharing is caring ad has InFamous gameplay as well.

It should ramp up in the next 2 weeks or so like most retail game marketing... but Second Son was unlikely to get anything close to what UC3/TLoU got in terms of marketing, imo.

If I had to guess perhaps they decided to focus toward 60fps... they said they wouldn't rule it out but currently could not target/reach 60fps. It could have become a priority. Perhaps they saw the newest GT's abysmal sales on the PS3, who knows.
