Infamous Second Son has gone gold

Infamous: Second Son |OT|: Troy Baker as Troy Baker

According to the devs, you either choose to be a good guy or choose to play as Troy Baker.

|ot| in 1999 i got teargassed by the cops.

Are we nitpicking ToD instead of a day/night cycle? Did people get tired of nitpicking that there's no ambient sound or, my personal favorite, "ew, this inFamous game looks like an inFamous game"?

Both of the previous inFamous games had static ToDs. SP never said anything to the contrary at any point during Second Son's development. It's actually more logical to expect a continuation of static ToDs considering SP made a very conscious effort to use them in both of the previous games.

To the few who call this a deal breaker, what other games have you passed on for equally silly reasons?

Part of me wants to play I2 but I'll probably burn myself out on the series before I even get my hands on this game and also Cole is awful.

Dude, what's up?

What you consider nitpicking, other people think makes quite a difference to the ambiance of the game.

I think a continuous change of the ToD is more important in a game such as Watch Dogs or GTA than in Infamous, but it would have been cool that if you stood still somewhere for 15 minutes the city would change around you more and that includes a change in ToD.

I guess it's a personal thing, but I don't get why people advised not to do that because you'd get burnt out, I'm halfway through 2 now after just playing one, and I'm nowhere near burnt out, in fact it's making me more excited for Second Son. Cole is a badass in 2 as well, they changed him heaps from one, and it's a much better game so far from 1.

Enough to raise a big stink about it and for a few to call it a deal breaker? Not even close. We can be upset about it, but some of the reactions are clearly manufactured "outrage".

I still stand by that ambient noise bullshit.

It was fucking terrible and SP should be called out on it.

Having said that, I already pre-ordered this game on PSN and I am fucking pumped. Hopefully they took everything they learned from I1 and I2, and applied it to Infamous 3.

Still disappointed about the lack of multiplayer. There is some massive potential there.

Open world. 18 people just roaming in Seattle, killing shit, killing each other. Maybe spawn a huge behemoth monster that everyone needs help to take down.

There are just so many ideas there.

Hopefully they consider it for I4.

Nobody in this thread called it a deal breaker, and this is the thread that broke the info that it has 8 different ToD that are set by the narrative.

For multiplayer it should be straight death match but with a twist that everyone only has regular guns, like the DUP, until you kill the Superhero. After you kill him, you become the Superhero.

Basically Rambo mode from Soldat

A day/night cycle in a game like this is really only a visual nicety. I mean, is it really more immersive to see day change to night every 15-30 minutes, giving you a big reminder of the complete disconnect between the game time and real time passing? I don't know that immersive is the right word. It's cool. It's a neat visual effect. But there are so many other things that could be actual problems related to the gameplay or story or graphics that I would put far, far above something like this. I mean, hell, I didn't even perceive that there was no day/night cycle in the previous Infamous games until I read it in this thread. And then I kind of went "Huh...I guess that's true. Whatever."

Infamous: Second Son |OT|: Have you Beanie to Seattle?
I like this one.

That should never be lived down, so funny.

I played through the first game a week or two back and made quick time going through it (skipping side stuff). Thought about
Going through the sequel as well but I too feare on being burnt out.

Infamous: Second Son |OT| Don't tell me how to fight!

Infamous: Second Son |OT| Why can't I get in cars?

Infamous: Second Son |OT| Nirvana cover band

Infamous: Second Son |OT| FogStation 4

Infamous: Second Son |OT| It's better to burn out than to fade away.
(Pretty sure this was written in Kurt Cobain's suicide note, but I could be wrong)

Is Sony going advertise this at all? If they don't, it's going to kill its sales with, MS proclaiming Titan Fall as the Jesus of video games.

Any impressions?

Honestly, it's more inFamous which is fine by me. I was just running around testing the powers. I don't know how early in the game in the demo was but you have grenades, a melee attack, the glide and a weakness scan.

I have no idea what the framerate is but it never dropped in the 10 minutes I was playing it.

I'm pretty sure I stopped playing Blue Dragon and never touched it again because I couldn't invert the Y axis. Or maybe it was just that you couldn't invert it separately from the X. I don't remember.

To quote Hank Scorpio, "You can't argue with the little things"

that's a control scheme. way different than a cosmetic change.

Ok thank you. :)

I just watched a 28 second ad before a live playstation stream on Ps4 that featured Infamous.
