Twitch Plays Pokemon Thread 3: Return of Red... Aussies win again!

Man the colors are so bright. Love the animations. Such a drastic change, lol.

Some insight:

The processor, which is a Z80 workalike made by Sharp with a few extra (bit manipulation) instructions, has a clock speed of approximately 8 MHz, twice as fast as that of the original Game Boy. The Game Boy Color also has three times as much memory as the original (32 kilobytes system RAM, 16 kilobytes video RAM). The screen resolution was the same as the original Game Boy, which is 160x144 pixels.

More like a whole new set of people trying to shoehorn the older memes into this game so far.

A few people have been stand out, but the majority are already nostalgia blind after a week.

Admiral Eh and Commander Hugs and Kisses... I like that. I like that a lot!
Booooo. Leave the old memes with RED.

Why has the hivemind ended up inside Mr Pokemon's house...
It's gonna be another hour before they get on the right path, I can feel it.

Some insight:

z80s were so cheap, tons of things used them. But they were definitely on the way low end. For comparison, the SNES main processor was at 3.58mhz.

(edit) see a few people calling it Love Bug too, also an acceptable name.

If they backtrack enough to even get Eevee haha

We did a fair deal of backtracking for less in Gen 1. Besides, I think it may be a good idea to get Eevee this time, unlike last time when there was better options. As long as there is a slot left, Umbreon or Espeon would both be nice addition to the team.

I still can't believe we managed to beat the game. I mean, 100000+ people got together and defeated the Elite Four and Blue. That's impressive.

I'm not even mad I missed it. This wasn't my story. It was ours. The amount of stories, images, .gifs and memes that came out of this is unbelievable. This was an epic adventure, and one I'll probably remember forever. Even though I missed the first 5 days, the last few hours and some of the key events inbetween, I still consider myself a part of this, however small. Pokemon has never been this fun, and I say this as someone who grew up playing the gen 1 games and TCG and watching the anime up until halfway in Johto.

It's been a hell of a ride, and I'm so glad I could share it with all of you. These threads have been fantastic, and I spent most of my waking time here. Which is sadly the reason why I won't be following Crystal as much as I did with Red: I have other games to play too, and I don't want to keep disregarding them in favor of TPP. But I'd still like to check it from time to time, even if it means I won't understand half the jokes and memes.

When the time comes and democracy is actually needed, people will enter the right commands. Until then, Anarchy aww yeah!

Far too easy for trolls to spam Anarchy when the time is right. And then there are the pure anarchist that believe Democracy should never be used.
