Yet somehow manage to be able to hold decent conversation with everyone, recognize and willing buck societal norms, internalize guilt and shame for killing her family and not wanting to face that...Not to mention above average intelligence while in coyote form stalking and hunting the kids for her back pack.

A little bonkers? Yes but this whole feral child thing is a stretch since she isn't exhibiting any signs of some mentally stunted kid. If anyone got taken advantage of it was Stiles.

But that's the thing, she should be mentally stunted. What she's been through, that stuff is insanity-inducing.

Then again, she is in an insane asylum.

Nope I don't think so though given the fact that she murdered her family and was wandering in the woods for years as a coyote it makes sense why she would be in there. Also I assume the Druid/ guidance counselor lady let her go so she can help deal with Stiles.

Edit: Also, I wasnt really feeling this episode. It wasn't bad but I'd say it was the worst of the season so far easily. The preview for the next couple of episodes looked awesome though.

It sounded like she was in the asylum because she wanted to be there. Usually if you commit yourself, you can check yourself out. But I don't know how that works for teenagers, I would think they need parental consent to get out. But then, I have no idea how old Malia is supposed to be.

We see him fighting Derek in his loft with what looks like the same outfit he had on in the Asylum episode so idk

so i calmed down now and i'm thinking of who's going to die and even though i'm always wrong when I try to guess what's going to happen next i'm pretty sure i'm a little right this time..
so anyway...

and i didn't really want to believe this was foreshadowing but here we are...
-crystal reed is fucking 29 years old i dont think she wants to play a teenager anymore lol
-i had my money on derek but jeff davis showed derek kinda dying so derek is not going to die because jeff davis is an asshole
-killing scott off would be suicide for the show
-killing stiles would be jumping off a cliff for the show
-killing lydia when she's finally getting interesting is unlikely
and finally... if you think about it,
allison
doesn't do much in the show anymore. she's spent all of this season just wandering around kinda doing nothing at all and just making out with isaac. the only thing of importance she did was.. taking lydia to see peter? and participating in that yakusa thing they did?

Yeah, from the moment we knew someone was gonna die this season I had it pegged as either
Allison or Isaac
. Both have been little more than window dressing (albeit pretty good ones with nice moments) this season.
But her being 29 definitely hurts way more, I was actually think about that the other day.

That's a good theory, though it would make me sad.
But I think Jeff is probably very wary of killing of another female character so soon since he's gotten some heat for it lately.

I think
Ethan is also a possibilty based on a quote from Jeff at the end of last season, and because the actor is gonna be starring in a new HBO show that was already picked up.

edit: about the killing off another female thing, i think he's making up for that by adding two new female characters this season.
 
Totally nuts.

Something I noticed... "Dr. Liston" was listed in quotation marks in the credits. That psycho is gonna pop-up again, I'm certain, but as who?
 
Felt like a bit of a weaker episode, tbh. Still good. Wonder why Kira's mom was young looking in 1943 (and 800 something years old) but looks older in 2014. Unless this it is part of the kitsune being a trickster.

Maybe to keep up appearances ... cause people would wonder why a 20 something woman is claiming to be the mother of a teen.

I just assumed that that's a power at this point.

This episode was the weakest of the season, but still pretty good.

I also feel like Teen Wolf won't be the same after this season. The characters are going through too much shit to just revert back as if nothing happened, I think the darker tone is here to stay.
 
I think the explanation behind the Nogitsune was decent enough, but I am not a fan of it being mired in romantic drama. But Reese coming back as the Nogitsune was hilarious. A real 'oh you' moment.

I like the idea of the flashback exposition in theory, but in practice it felt a bit flat. But from when the riot begins to everyone dying, and then the Nogitsune returning, that stuff was great. Kira's mom swinging the samurai sword was lol-worthy though. Reese ripping off that soldier's head caught me off guard. I like how awkward Reese was walking after coming back. Kinda like a 1930s horror movie monster. Very exaggerated. Reese's screaming was really freaky after the burn. The actual fire was terribad CGI. I feel they should have done that as a practical effect, and not as CGI. Does the actor who plays Reese also play the Bandaged Man in the previous episodes? The 90 second promo a couple of weeks ago made these events look more horrifying/scarier than they were. I kinda hoped the horror would be through the roof with the Japanese internment reveal. But it was good stuff.

But all-in-all, successful explanation. I liked the Sheriff figuring out that the Nogitsune has zero motive and just wants to play a practical joke on everyone. Hope he has a good plan. Except, did the Nogitsune straight up slaughter everyone in the camp? Probably.

I like Parrish. He's such a minor, side character, but the actor's pretty likable, and the dude feels legit. Like... "Boss, why the hell am I handing this potential murderer a grossly overpowered cattle prod?"

Otherwise, nobody really did anything this episode. Which is fine. Next episode looks intense.

Where the hell was Malia at? I guess she wasn't up to anything sinister and really did just give the sword and warning to Scott. I wanted to see that meeting. That was a nice moment between the Sheriff and Allison, in the elevator. Very sweet.

Again, no Lydia! The hell.

Also, is the doctor dead or did he survive?
