How the hell is this a "half-baked game?"
Curious how you got to that understanding.
It's the age-old DLC conundrum. If you don't release DLC and just say "the game is 100% finished the way we want it and no new content needs to be added" people complain because they want more. They want more story to play, more new maps to keep multiplayer going, more guns to try out, more fun to have. If you do release DLC to add on to the story or add more logevity to multiplayer people complain because "you didn't finish the game and are now charging for it."
So, which is it?
Why?
It may make sense to publishers but Season Passes, especially for a game without any singleplayer component, are really shitty to consumers. There has been exactly one that I've bought that was worth the money. Consumers need to stop buying them.
There are things that we want in the game that we didn't get to ship in the final game. So we'll add private matches and things like that for free.
"There are things that we want in the game that we didn't get to ship in the final game"
Really? I think not.
This seems to be a growing trend amongst all devs. Ship a game and then put the rest in later, it applies to so many games and because people accept it, it'll keep happening and probably get worse.
Let's just hope that some of the maps leaked are on the disc and not part of a season pass to come later.
I must have missed the part where they are forcing people to buy a season pass for the game. How about this: if you don't see value in a season pass for the game, just don't buy one? How exactly is offering consumers an OPTIONAL pass a bad thing?
They said on twitter that they didn't have an Online Pass.
Why do the moaners miss out the second sentence when they quote this?

Is there a difference? Serious question
Because they should have been there in the first place. But if people are happy to have these missing that's fine, after all, we all bought a half finished PS4/Xbox One.

They'd better be... any less that 15 is pretty weak for a $60.00, modern, multiplayer only FPS. (i know it has a "campaign" but nothing like it's comparable brethren.. you know what i'm getting at.)
Explain your position. How is an optional pass that saves you money if you plan to buy all of the DLC a bad thing?
You save money if you know you're going to buy all the DLC anyways. Not sure why people buy these. What is wrong with being a little patient and buying the dlc individually?
Online pass is the one that won't let you play multiplayer at all unless you buy it (or get it with the game). Season pass is optional DLC savings and pre-purchase.
Wotta, you're such a ball of joy. You buying TitanFall?

Yes. Season Pass is a one price purchase for all pay-DLC in a given period of time. This varies from publisher/dev/title, each of them seem to have a slightly different spin on what Season means.
Online Pass is a fee to play a game online that presumably you purchased used/traded for/etc. without taking over the original account the game was tied to. Pretty sure EA has already determined Online Passes to be a failure.

Haha thanksTBH I probably would have day one, but I think I may be reviewing this one.
Most of my concerns are thinking from a consumer point of view TBH (I'm a big gamer obviously).

You're buying something that has been planned for that they didn't stick into the game all to get extra money. The damn game is already $60 for multiplayer only. Not only that you have to pay even more just to access multiplayer through XBL.
Then in order to get features and maps that they had planned for; you have to pay more.
All awhile these same people who just love giving these companies money are making fun of everyone else who only pays 99c and has a hell of a time.
It's ironic really.

Like the rest of the game maybe?

Didn't EA abandoned Season passes?
The game is not out yet and they allready know what there paid dlc is going to be.

Last week they tweeted that there wouldn't be.
Regardless, this is cool, I don't understand the disdain for Season Passes.
Also there's nothing wrong with multiplayer only. Do you use term single player only in the same manner. If not your being a hypocrite.
Touche. However; EA has shown time and time again that they cut off servers from their previous games to force users to their new games. They can't do this to single player games. It's also just another move to make games as services instead of something you "own." We should move this discussion to another thread though; so I apologize for railing.
So is this yet another game that will have a heavily fractured community when all the DLC is out?
Killzone did it right. Maps for free, extra modes for DLC.
SHOCKING NEWS should have been in thread title. Did anyone realistically expect there not to be?
Shocking news?
Shocking news.
Hopefully there is nothing in the DLC which should or could have been included in the original game.

Good thing this game doesn't use EA servers do some research before you spout nonsense

We already knew DLCs were coming
If someone likes the game and feels like it will be playing it for a long time might as well get the season pass and save some extra bucks

Compromises shouldn't have to be made in favor of screwing the customer. If you can't finish content that you want to add to the game before release then you either delay the game, cut the content, or offer it as free content later since it originally was going to be included.
