WOW! Mad props man, that's great.

Wondering if they'd make it so those with a 3DS and a copy of that version of Smash could use those handhelds as an extra controller for the Wii U version. It'd be convenient given I only have one pro controller and most of my friends are probably planning on just coming over to play the console version and will just stick with the 3DS version for themselves.

Man, I'm just glad I got a chance of editing it before someone quoted it. Probably the fastest and most stressful edit I've ever done in my life.

Thanks for the answers! I uses to do that with Mario Kart DS back in the day.

Do not doubt Sakurai on online play when he managed to make a far more chaotic game (KI:U) working online. Seriously, I'm surprised I have stable connection fighting Japanese players.

Also good morning, weekend SmashGAF!

Talk about free time.

it's a nice list.

and too be honest, someone wouldn't need all the time in the world to make it.

Well I was maintaining the calendar without links. GamerG0d added those links. I'm kinda sad you lot think he did all the work alone. Maybe I shouldn't have bothered putting it together in the first place. :/

I almost started to working on it until I noticed someone already done it. It probably only take 20-30 minutes. Good Job, both of you!

i'm not taking credit from anyone, a lot of you posters contribute a crap ton to the thread. a lot more than most of us (including me)!

i just really dislike those, 'YOU'VE GOT A LOT OF FREE TIME ON YOUR HANDS EHH..?", post. it implies that people contributing things such as awesome list, gifs, sprites, character breakdowns, and so on have nothing better to do.. so that's why they do it.

yet that's not the case. the way i interpret it is that they're really passionate about the game and franchise, and like to share it with others. imagine if after neorice's latest sprite someone said, "TALK ABOUT FREE TIME." instead of appreciating the awesome stuff he's willing to share. That's where I'm coming from.

not discrediting or attacking anyone. :-)

Yeah I wasn't trying to take credit from you, I just felt like adding the links.

I totally agreed with you there. People need to appreciate people more since we are working together as community and hyping up the game that we love.

omg sexy.

An idea for Download Play:

1. Connect to players
2. Host 3DS player selects which stage & characters everyone will play (The other players can obviously tell him which to pick)
3. Then DP downloads only the selected choices to the other players.

Wouldn't that work?

Another thing that Mario Part Island Tour does (have only played this one through Download Play so not too sure if this is a system wide option) is it lets the person download select if they'd want to play in 3D or just 2D and I'm assuming this helps reduce the download size in someway. For Smash they could also maybe implement a playlist feature for download play where you select the character for both players on the host system then select all the stages you want to play on and it will send them all at once so you can just rotate through them without having to download more.

I just realized we had more 3DS screenshots this week than Wii U screenshots. Sakurai clearly knew it was SuperSah's birthday! Lol

My friend have a great idea!

Prince Peasley for AT!

We will embrace the white flashes every time he flipped his hairs.

I wish we'd have more general representation from the Mario RPGs; as in, not necessarily a character but stuff like this, stages and more music. Smash 4 has been catching up on other neglected franchises such as Pilotwings, so hopefully the same will happen here.

Just entered my mind. Do you think we'll see a Special Edition of the game with the WiiU and 3DS version in one package? Or any other limited editions? Might be the only way I'll get either of the games physical.

I find it interesting how this game seems so focused on alternates. What I mean by that is thing like alternate versions of the Boxing Ring stage, alternate versions of the Animal Crossing stage, how the 3DS Spirit Tracks stage will change some if playing Toon Link, how there's an alternate male Wii Fit Trainer to the female one.

I'm not complaining, but there seems to be more of a focus on alternates in this game compared to previous Smash games. It was in Brawl some, but this seems to be expanding on alternates quite a bit more.

Good. It was always incredibly frustrating how he gave Wario an alt costume then said he was special, for no particular reason.

I don't think there'll be a bundle, but it wouldn't surprise me if Ninty does a promotion whereby if you register both versions on Club Nintendo, they give you back some eShop credit. Ever since the FE/SMT deal, it just makes sense.

A little off topic here (I tend to do this when I've been drinking a bit and got Smash on the mind) but I'd absolutely love if this 'full' Starman theme was somehow put into Smash Bros. It's a million times better than the full version melody that was used in 64 onward (G, G#, A, E, B. That one).

I love that samba shit. Kondo was a big fan of Brazilian/Latin music and it reflected in his earlier work. Even his Brawl rendition of the SMB ground theme was exactly how I invisioned it was supposed to be.

There is a reason. Wario is the only character in the cast (barring Zelda's different artstyles) that has two main series that both represent him and has him in two different outfits.

Also, we don't know what Male Wii Fit Trainer is.
