Never got around to playing the Infamous 2 Festival of Blood DLC, so playing that in anticipation of this release. I love the Infamous series and I'm really looking forward to this next Friday!
 
We spoke to inFamous Second Son’s director recently, and in our interview he explained exactly why Sucker Punch have chosen to make the game run at a frame rate of 30 frames per second with a 1080p resolution, rather than aiming for 60fps.

Instead of asking him why the game was 30fps, we chose to ask exactly what the game would be like, and what it would’ve lost if they had gone for 60fps instead.

“Resolution.” replied Nate, continuing with “I mean, that’s the easy answer, right? That’s what PC games do.”

“I wouldn’t want to compromise any of the particle effects, as I think that’s what makes Delsin’s powers look alive and real… and you can’t sacrifice any of that” said Nate, suggesting that a higher frame rate could be detrimental to this effects system. “Cruising around town and using those abilities is the chief joy of the game, so that’s not going to be it, and we’re certainly not going to cut down on the detail in the world.”

“What would you expect would go away in a game? Resolution seems like the obvious thing.” was the question posed by Nate to us, and we mentioned how they might have to reduce the people on the streets. “You need people on the streets, or you don’t feel like the hero, unless you’re saving people, you’re just some crazy super killer.”

Would be really lame if one of the powers is stone I mean the DUP use it so at some point you probably get it from them or a boss. Another most likely will be paper and then maybe scissors?

Man All this hype is making me want to play inFamous 2 again, hell I think I'll mess around and start over tonight and see if I still want to replay it. I'll probably just play the good side if I do replay.

i say not worth it. pins, a "jacket" cloth case for your game, some dlc. we all know the missions will be sold afterwards. should've included the action figure/statue.

Man, the US version doesn't even get the Jacket case. Totally would've been worth it.

I'm just reveling in the fact that we're so close.

Also, I hope the game does wonderfully- it's a great time to release, as it'll be really nice to have something new to play on the PS4. Seattle, here we come!

While it was good hearing his side of everything more in-depth, it's more of the same.

Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited for the game, and I pre-ordered my PS4 pretty much right after I saw the E3 gameplay video, but watching/reading all these interviews the past several months has been the same thing.

Press: "So can you talk about A, B, C thing in Second Son? What about X, Y, Z...?"

Sucker Punch: "Sorry! We're not talking about that right now. You'll have to wait until the game is released."

It's cool they're being secretive and don't want to spoil anything in the story, but goodness does it lead to some boring interviews.

Fortunately the wait isn't too much longer.

Although I would love that, I think he meant you will stumble upon powers in more of a scripted scenario. Meaning that everyone would have access to those by the end of the game (Other than the different good/evil powers)

I feel exactly like you, but i'm TOO excited for this game to the point where I just want any news. Hope it lives to my expectation.

I disagree,

Friday releases suck.

They get shipments earlier in the week, so basically they are just keeping the game in a back room till Friday. Thats lame!

Yes! I hope all PS4 exclusives release on Fridays because I have no class that day and would be able to get the game early and play all day/weekend as opposed to trying to find time to play the game during the week while also needing to do homework.
 
Listening to the beyond podcast interview with SP. It seems the map is 50% bigger than infamous 2 (and a lot denser as mentioned before). He also mentions that every screen capture that GAF claimed to be a bullshot was actually a real time capture at 30 fps.

sounds so awesome

I'm trying to finally finish up Infamous 2 before Second Son releases but I'm not sure if I have enough time :-s I just started doing missions in Flood Town
