Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

We need more Espurr. Espurr's seen some shit man.

Serena too, she should replace PKMN Trainer.

I didn't want to risk scaring children. Espurr is creepy.
Sowrds unsheathing themselves is less creepy in my universe

I would love multiple versions of the Pokemon Trainer with different starting Pokemon, but I recognize it's more of a pipe-dream. Even giving the standard one a female alternate would be appreciated, though.

From the Thousand Year Door

Fixed and ignoring that technically your message was a reply to Doggie's question =D

I'm excited either way... we're due for a reveal, so either it's tonight (and probably Yoshi) or next week (which could be anyone!).

Off topic but an older DK POTD came to mind when I was editing the balances change list post and since it was before that one pic with the comment about how super strong DK is this time, I thought it was worth another look:

Now I am not a DK main and really haven't messed with him a ton but is he usually able to use his Up B level with the stage like that? If not, that could be a huge boon, as it looks similar to MK's mach tornado. (Obviously not as OP, but another option for DK)

Yeah, he's been able to do that in every Smash Bros. It's a pretty strong move, too - the initial hit of his grounded Up-B has some pretty solid knockback.

Okay, cool. Thanks for clearing that up. I wonder in what ways DK has been tweaked to be super strong? We know Bowser was made that way by becoming faster and stronger as well as having new moves but all we have to on w/ DK is that one pic of him man handling Luigi from the air, which could be air toss or air down B (determined to be too high for the latter though)

Looking at this pic, did DK's spin attack on the ground always have a tilt? I thought it was more parallel to the ground

Watching some Polybash XIII matches, final between mew2king and Leon. Brawl. Dear god I forgot how slow and boring brawl is, this is boring as fuck.
I sincerely hope Smash 4 strikes a better balance of game play, please Sakurai D:

It's already looks faster than brawl and has hitstun so there's hope.

Brawl bad the same hitstun as melee, it was just cancelable by doing an aerial or air dodging.

But yeah, every video shown so far points torwards non-cancelable hitstun, or at least extended frames before being able to cancel it.

If what Sakurai is doing w/ Little Mac is any indication, combos will definitely be back. His stilted SideSmash is has 0 knock back so is specifically for comboing

I'm hoping for Yoshi's reveal too.

With a new tongue tether recovery, and his Melee Egg Throw back (Brawl's set angles really limited it).

Also, a side-b that isn't one of the most useless moves in Smash history.
