So I'm happy to finally share this... my first real house! For the past seven years I've rented numerous appartments, and it feels so good to finally actually OWN a house. My girlfriend moved in straight away, so that's exciting. So far, so good.
I have to say we're really in love with the house. Its from 99 so still fairly new, and in two weeks time we've really changed the look of the house to make it very 'warm', for lack of better description. In my appartements I had white walls but it was my gf's idea to make the walls more... sandy. And I have to say it works. The hard wooden floor downstairs was already in there.
The house is situated in a very quiet neighborhood, very close to the centre of my town so never far from where the action happens (or the train station, which is handy since I have to take the train to work each day), but its a closed off neighbordhood with one entry, so only people that live there go there. Very quiet in the evening, which is fantastic. Plus, its almost next to the hospital, which can also come in handy.
As you can see we have a garage next to it, which is also very handy as my gf has a car. Behind the garage there is a seperate part where we can place our washing machine, dryer and fridge.
As for the living room, please bear with me from now on as we're still placing furniture and stuff but its definitely a start! We feel it's very cosy. Its on the backside of the house where the garden is with big windows that give a lot of light during the day.
My PS4 is downstairs, part for netflix use, part for playing the newest games on my still very functional Sony Bravia 46 inch. Already have the tv for five years but has never let me down. My other consoles are upstairs in a gameroom, partly because its fun to have your own room in the house for gaming, partly because I don't want to be in the way of my gf when she wants to watch tv.
Our blu-ray / dvd collection at the backside of the living room. Physical media for the win! There's still some paintings here and there that we have to hang on the walls.
Next to the living room is the kitchen, which very handily works as a hallway between the living room and the dining room on the street side. That's also where we have some shelves with our books. Haven't made any pictures of that yet unfortunately. The pic you see here is still from the previous owners.
Our garden, very nice to finally have one instead of a balcony! Lots of work this summer to make it perfect, but I'm already happy that I can sit outside with good weather.
Our bedroom (a week ago). The stairs are out already, and there's a tv there now and some more stuff to make it feel like a home. On the backside there's a make up table for my gf. I've learned that living together means allowing your partner to have stuff as well. It has to be a home for the both of us, not just me.
And on that note, there's a walk in closet for our clothes. Of course my clothes are in there too, but this is really something to make my gf happy. And it's very convenient. She also has her own little office in the house, with her Mac and a world map where she tracks her travels. I dont have pictures of it though.
Now on to my pride, the game room! My father and I made shelves on one wall of the room to store all the games, because this way it takes less space than when you use furniture.
And this is the wall WITH games... some shelves missing above the picturte but you get the idea

VERY happy with it!
As far as systems go, I have a good gaming pc, Wii U, Wii, GameCube, N64, SNES, NES, original GameBoy, GameBoy Advance, Micro, DS, DS Lite, DS Lite + or whatever its called, 3DS, 3DS XL, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, PS1, 2, 3 and 4, Xbox and Xbox 360. Xbox One isn't out here in the Netherlands yet.
And a panorama photo of the game room. Its much more impressive when you're there instead of looking at a pic. I'm VERY satisfied with it. Played through DK: Tropical Freeze here and I think I'm going to move the PS4 there this weekend to play Ground Zeroes and InFamous.
So that's my new house! Very happy with it, sorry that its not all gaming related but Im very happy with it and wanted you to have a tour in it.
