CG fest doesn't excite me one bit and Jamie Foxx as Electro is probably the worst miscast until new Batman and Star Wars.
Is Electro really specific enough to say an actor is "miscast"? Serious question. I don't read comics.

The first one was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I walked out of the theater.
I see no scenes showing Peter Parker losing his powers due to emotions so this film already one step above Spider-Man 2 already
Me too. When did you leave? As soon as I saw worker guy asking other worker guy if he still had some cranes he could use I could sense something enormously stupid was about to happen and bailed.
Like dis?

I like how the movie only now mentions that Harry and Peter had some kind of backstory despite it never being hinted before in the previous movie. Shows how much thought they're putting into it and how they're rushing these villains out.
Say what you want about Spider-Man 3 but Harry finally turning into a villain was one of the better parts of it after having already spent two movies with him.
.
I want this so much. I love the webbing. It looks saturated and colorful, which I guess evokes a more comic-booky feel. I don't know, outside of CGI, I just love that damn costume. That's the costume we should have got in 2002. No silver/gold eyes, no weird modern webbing, just the Spidey costume verbatim. Now all it needs is armpit webbing.

If you get the right actor and put him in a suit similar to the Falcon in Cap 2 I don't think people would be that put off.
I actually liked the last Spiderman movie better than the Raimi films. The Raimi films are too corny for me.
What's the villain count right now? This movie seems like a reverse Avengers.
Everything Spidey looks cool.
Everything Peter Parker looks meh.
The voice is one thing, but modeling Electro after Jamie Foxx was a pretty bad idea. lol
I said it before and will say again, Garfield is Spider-Man, Tobey is Peter Parker.
Good point.I said it before and will say again, Garfield is Spider-Man, Tobey is Peter Parker.

Tobey always looked too old to play Parker to me. And I now Parker was supposed to be a nerd and what not, but Tobey perpetually looked like he was about to cry.
I thought Tobey nailed the cheesy jokes as Spidey. Garfield sounded a little off in the first film.
Tobey was actually funnier in the tie-in movie games.
Tobey had cheesy jokes as Spidey?!
No, really. I don't remember any Spidey jokes in the Raimi movies outside of his dig at Macho Man

I count four in the first movie - Wrestling scene, witty quips with MJ, squaring off against Goblin at the Bugle and squaring off against Goblin in the burning building. There weren't a lot but I think they were pretty well timed.

The way he moves is so good. Something they never got right in the Raimi movies.
Name some. Seriously. I remember him spraying Jameson in the face with webbing claiming "Me and mom have to talk kid". Outside of that, I remember none, especially not in the burning building! I honestly remember Goblin being funnier/zanier than him in SM1. The excuse you gave for SM2 doesn't really hold water either.
That's a pretty lame retort if you're not going to elaborate on why. Spider-Man 2 didn't need witty quips to be a good Spider-Man movie, that has more to do with your expectations.
Either way I already listed scenes that had some kind of cheesy Spider-Man quip in the first movie, minor or otherwise. Cheesy lines like "You're the one who's out Gobby, out of your mind" were pretty lame in a rather funny way to me. Though really, all of that might just be rose tinted glasses on my part.
Argggh I hate the interpretation of the Raimi movies that allows the cheese because it's "so bad it's good". It's just bad! You had the two biggest Spidey things of my childhood, the videogame from Neversoft and the 90's TV series, both of which were genuinely funny. Not cheesy funny, actual ha-ha funny.
I don't know, generally I consider his humor/quipping the defining character trait of Spider-Man. Without it, he's just a dork in a bright red and blue suit.
Hopefully this isn't a borefest like the first film.
Feels like you guys want him to be a wisecrack machine, that's cool I guess.
