Asides from two boss encounters, NG+ is easier and much more forgiving due to how powerful your character is. I wouldn't worry about it.

That's great to hear honestly. I'm gonna try to get the sun sword to see how it does as I have a quality build. 34 Dex and 26 Str.

What's been a 'soul crushing' point for you? haven't run into anything that bad yet.

I was using incredible hyperbole about the souls crushing but there is parts in the game that drive me insane especially late game.
The Shrine of Armia for instance is rage inducing. With homing crystal souls arrows, slow movement because of water, drop zones, enemies hidden in the water and ogres. It was infuriating.

Oh the crazy guy mushroom pit area.
There is another mushroom on your right.
Just drop down.

yes, i drop on a mushroom. i'm right beside the mushroom with a corpse+loot now. but i can't jump over, i will always drop down. i can't even dash over. it's the mushroom just above the pit with a knight + chest with rapier.

Are there
16
areas?

Just spent 2 hours polishing off a couple of areas. Those
turtle
guys are devestating when they gang up on you. Still can't figure out how to get to the bottom of
Cardinal Tower

Nearly had a heart attack when I accidentally hit an NPC (sensitive triggers), seems you get a margin for error now, he had a go at me then carried on as normal :P

Okay, late game
once I get what allows me to go into giant's memories, where is one other than the one behind the king's door in forest of giants? I remembered one in this area as well, but he just drops a seed
.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you The
ROTTEN! Oh man I spent like 45 minutes being super careful, avoiding being poisoned, lighting sconces trying to avoid ambushes, and I summon some people for this boss seeing how tough he was, and I get myself killed when he has 1/10 health left and now I get to do it ALLLLLL again! Is there a bonfire I missed in that second area with all the poison statues?
You can bolt through that whole area in 20 seconds. That's kind of how it was designed, just a terrifying rush to the boss door.
there's a bonfire near the end. You can drop down over that ledge in a couple spots in the zone, but you might need a torch to see where it's safe.

edit: wait, you were talking about the Gutter? Oh god. But yeah, there's two bonfires in that place.

Try to agitate one head by giving it a good whack, then run over to the other undefended head to do some real damage. Also, when it spends the better half of a minute rearing up, its telegraphing it's beam of death attack.

Thanks. Almost had her twice. One time I died and the other time the host died. I felt really bad when the host died becuase I accidentally had my +4 weapon equipped instead of the +10. And that probably cost is the fight

Even when I wear the Guardian's Seal, I never get summoned :(

Thankfully the Rank rewards seem useless for a non-Faith build

Also yet to be invaded in 22 hours :s

...I just summoned an NPC phantom named Jester Thomas and he basically soloed a boss. That was a sight to behold.

What the hell is the
strange noise
in the bastille? I have killed the
gargoyles and the 3 statues and of course the lost sinner
, I randomly came back for
mcduff
and I can
hear what sounds like a monster roaring
, anyone know what it is?

Man, YouTube is making the Rat Authority battle LOOK so easy, but I keep getting my ass handed to me. Fucking
mini dog-rats that I can't seem to completely eradicate before giant dog-rat comes in
.. and of course you can't summon help. :(

Aren't they uh, rats

Any ideas on why my Murakumo 7+ is doing less DMG then my Dragelic Sword +2?

Murakumo +7 according tot he stats does 342 DMG while the Dragelic does 242 DMG, yet when I was hitting a couple of enemies, the Dragelic was doing 4 pts more DMG even though stat wise its 100 behind.

Does it depend on the enemy?
Both weapons primary attack is a slash

My DEX is at 39, which favors the Murakumo more.

Don't understand.

Some weapons have sweet spots that do more damage if you hit enemies with a certain part of the blade. Same goes for the opposite, but not sure if either of those weapons have one.

Other than that are you sure you're not attacking during an enemy attack animation? That counts as a counterattack and boosts damage as well.

can anybody help with the above, please?
You need to jump from one mushroom to another but you need to jump "early" or you'll roll off.
But, just FYI, this item is actually
a drop from the butterfly you killed, most likely a poison moss... :\ It drove me crazy and I kept retrying and I groaned when I realized what happened.

Freja is cake, just stand mid-range to bait the laser, then run around behind it (on its right side) and hack away while its pew-pewing. Then back up and repeat.

Nah, the tiny spiders are still kicking my ass. Can't take time to attack with spiders constantly on my heels and they keep respawning when I kill them. The boss's attacks are easy to avoid but I can't do shit without getting mobbed by her minions.

Man the (optional boss spoiler)
Ancient Dragon
Boss fight is so not fun. Once you figured out the specific pattern for it, it's not so bad but it's still so slow and tedious. One mistake and you're dead. I had to respec and use a specific build just to kill it quickly. Least I got the
Giant Soul
from it so I won't ever have to do it again...

Me too, regarding armor sets, the Manikin was the most disappointing thing. Still, i think armors this time are among the best in Souls history, can't wait to do some screenshots in the PC version.

#FASHIONSOULS

I agree, and it's one thing that always bugged me about Demon Souls, so little armor.

I don't mind cooping at times and helping out others but after fighting Freja with a few dudes I felt like I cheesed a boss that should have been a fun and angry fight. I think imma solo whatever is left of the game

I need some help please. I'm starting this game tonight and wanted to know the quickest and earliest way to get the Black Knight Halberd. Are there some shortcuts or places that I can skip before, or do I get it normally during the game?

Hmmm, it went away. I died and now its not there. i ran around bastille for 15 mins before and i couldnt get rid of it or find it, now its gone.... has this happened to anyone else?!?

I like how the greatsword design is basically Guts' dragonsword from Berserk.

FROM are HUGE Berserk fans, this series is a love letter to it. So many references to the series.

That's not his sword, you'll find out which sword it is later on

It probably depends on the move set of the weapons. For example I'm dual wielding with the boss weapon
Warped Blade
in mainhand and Falchion in offhand. In power stance, the L2 attack (some sort of double dual-wield whirlwind slash) always depletes the full stamina. Always. I have a theory that the damage of this attack (can be more than 800 on light-armored enemies) scales with your stamina and so I skill stamina and I think my theory is right.

This is my planned setup once I have the stats to dual wield the boss weapon. Right now I'm rocking the falchion+10 in my right hand and uchigatana+9 in left. While I prefer the Falchion in my left for parrying purposes the moveset this way just slaughters.

Do you have the ring of whispers on?

im pretty sure i didnt, i spent 15 mins running around trying to find it and i could find any info on the net. after i died (f@#$%^g invader) it went, cant get the noise to happen again.

what i did right before was
ring the bell on top of iron keep
then travelled to bastille and it started happening.

Earliest you can get it is probably about 1/3 through the game. There's a small shortcut once you get to the actual stage it's in that bypasses the requirement of a certain item that's normally needed, but it's not something you'll be able to speedrun to or grab right away.

How come no matter what i equip, my fire def stat never goes above 55? For example, i put a Flame Quartz Ring on, nothing. I equip gear with high Fire Def, nothing.

Thanks for the answer. I read that the BKH now scales with INT aswell. I'm more the melee guy but should I invest in INT too or not? If yes what spells are good to have for an average mainly PVE melee player?

Does anyone remember what level you were on when you took on the first boss? The Forest is really kicking my ass and I think part of it is due to being underleveled because of how much souls I've lost. Enemies have stopped respawning in several locations too.

Undead Burg/Parish was a walk in the park compared to this.

I didn't even have my stupid estus flask for the first boss...so I didn't level.

Undead Burg to first demon was more tedious tho. I will say no matter what direction you to for your first boss battle, the near by bonfire is a hop skip and a jump
