seems like we don't have to upgrade our GPU
That's what I want to know. Maybe it's nothing more than just saying, with the improvements, it doesn't take a hit in performance, so it is indeed improving?
It's not dropping one frame but maybe they now have room to increase IQ or get that 3D crowd back in![]()
What is the point of porting an already locked 60fps game and showing that it remains at 60fps?
:24 Ryan Shrout:
Resource lifetime, track memory directly. No longer have D3D tracking that lifetime, much cheaper on resources.
10:23 Ryan Shrout: Bundles allows for instancing but with variance.
The feature's so far seem to be GPU-agnostic and focus more on the implementation of the DirectX runtime than on support of new GPU features (if any).
Josh Walrath: DX12 will enhance any modern graphics chip. Driver support from IHVs will be key to enable those features. This is a massive change in how DX addresses the GPU, rather than (so far) the GPU adding features.
But it didn't drop before either?

so this means xbox one will get a performance boost?

Yes
Come on ekim reveal whats about to happen with DX12 GPU hidden under the second layer of the 3 OS hyper drivers 3.2TF R290x based Sony's day is done mark cerny lies left developers with 2010 GPU to suffer MS couldn't speak about real performance of XB1 yet GAF going burn along with Sony paid sheep ponies
Guys?

Guys?
I wonder if the cut out cardboard crowds in Forza look better with DX12?
Massively disappointed so far (from an XBone perspective) considering the hype this was getting.
Uhmmm... no offense but Forza runs on a very stable 60fps 1080p on retail Xbox One hardware already. The port is just to show that it's simple to port to DX12 with no hit in performance.OMG. DX12 renders a Xbox ONE game at 60FPS on undisclosed hardware. Who would have imagined this?

I hope that doesn't mean that us Ivy Bridge PC gamers get screwed by a long delay.Ryan Shrout: Intel commits to having Haswell support DX12 at launch.
God willing.

Guys?
Would be dumb to release a new console and announce a new API 6 months later which doesn't run on that new console.

Yeah thats what I want to know as well
Not sure what it has to do with OGL. Its extensions were already there before Mantle was announced.
Did the crowd turn their back on the driver in disgust?
