The real question: is the Xbox One full DX12 compatible? (hopefully yes; probably not)
Doesn't sound like it from this video.Lots of hope but nothing definitive...

- Windows 7 support seems to currently be a question mark.
Not really liking the sound of this, but I guess they have no choice. Windows 7 is extremely prevalent.
For the not so tech savvy(that would be me), does this mean that current Nvidia GPUs will recieve a performance boost for all games that support DX12 ?
DX12 as any close to metal API will provide a more efficient way of using CPU. Any improvements to GPU usage are likely to be very small. So if your CPU isn't fast you're likely to see some noticeable improvements in DX12 games. If you're running some top of the line i7 I wouldn't count on getting out of DX12 more than +5% on average.
You're ignoring the facts that the hardware has to be compliant and DX12 is probably a year or so out. I would imagine full support will come with the Nvidia GTX800 series and AMD R? 3xx Series.
Fun fact, the Witcher guys called the Xbox a DX11 console and actually easier to develop than the PS4. Their main problem was that the CPU's of both consoles sucked, which was kind of a problem for them and it made them have to optimize a lot haha.
I'm reading this and thinking... "So, Mantle basically."New article on the DirectX Developer Blog: DirectX 12 - High Performance and High Power Savings
It's about Intels SIGGRAPH 2014 DirectX 12 demo.
