So, this game isn't very clear on what you need to do. "Seek the King", well, yeah. Where?
I've lit the four primal bonfires and now there's nowhere new to go.

did you find the second Flexible Sentry? Did you see the path from there? From the hub in the shaded woods.

“This is what it comes down to: a playable framerate. The early builds that the screenshots came from were playable but only just so. The game was not in a state where it could be sold at that point. I strongly suspect that they were focusing heavily on delivering a top-notch experience on PC and underestimated the challenges the new systems would pose on PS3 / Xbox360. That’s my analysis, anyway. But, factually, the early builds played like Blighttown the entire game.

Exactly what I said the issue was when this whole thing started. Sounds like the pc version will be just fine

Small update on my playthru Dranglec. Im LVL 95 at about 46 hours in. Stuck atm at the first boss in the
Iron Keep
, and just opened
Doors of Pharros
. Does the rest of the game open up after those two levels are done? There cant be much more left lol.

Ol
dragon rider
and dr[agonslayer] down. I really suck at this game though, half the enemies had stopped spawning. Hopefully I can gét it together now.

Shaded Woods > Fork Path bonfire, go left (opposite path to the foggy/misty path).

I think it was pretty clear, The Emerald Herald repeats herself a lot and one of her lines is telling you the Castle is beyond the forest.
Although that could confuse some people as to whether she means the Forest of Fallen Giants or the Shaded Woods.

So I haven't burned any Sublime Bone Dust to strengthen my Estus the whole game thus far... :x Just used four of them.

Yeah I totally had no clue. I was re-scouring all of the forest of fallen giants for any possible new path. I did find my way down to the fire lizards in the process.

Im going crazy, help me! How do I find the Warriors of the Sun convenant starting in The forest of the giants? Please explain it to me how to reach it and where the entrance is

Okay, found the Wheel
chair guy three times, joined hte covenant. I went into the abyss and won, got an upgrade in rank. Next question - I gave him another effigy and went in again, but it appeared the same. Do I just beat it over and over again to gain rank? If so, how many times and to what real end?

Do you mean the sunbros - aka Heirs of the sun?

It's in
Harvest valley, after 2nd bonfire
, not forest of the giants

Go to Majula, then go to Huntsman's Copse by having the miracle lady you met in Heide Tower move the contraption she's standing next to for 2000 souls. It's the room that leads to Heide from Majula, near the mansion and Covenant of Champions stone.

From there progress past Skeleton Lords into Harvest Valley, and at the end of it right before Earthen Keep there's a pathway. It's in the place where there is a small bridge over a poison gas area, with a hammer dude above and two giants below. Turn left after the bridge and hammer dude then proceed down that path, beware of a dual sickle fatty and the sunbro statue will be there.

Closest bonfire is Harvest Valley -> Mines.

You only need to light the fire in each area once. Remember how you found him in three different places?

I haven't done the content myself, so I'm not certain, but I think
There are different portals, remember in Black Gulch and Shaded Ruins? The different portals might lead to different content. I'm not certain though.

Each place you found him has a different portal and you are supposed to light the torch at the end.

I just killed him and took the Dragon Chime I wanted. :)

My stats:
Vgr. 25
End. 26
Vit. 13
Atn. 4
Str. 29
Dex. 17
Adp. 18
Int. 3
Fth. 6

Any advice on what stat I should be focusing?

Also for when you do that,
once all three are lit you'll fight the boss at the end. But this can happen at ANY of them, so pick whichever one you found easiest and go through that for the boss.

Cool, thanks.

When trying to find him, I found a
bird lady - where is her home "down the way"?
. Also, I keep seeing Luca
tiel, and she seems to be more and more forgetful, last time was in the keep, but how do I really know whre she's going to be next? And the dark mage I set free, how many damn times and places do I have to kill him until something else happens? is there a way to know where I can kill him? last place I encountered him was Drangalic castle.

Just finished getting my platinum trophy, some thoughts and information on NG+ and beyond here. I haven't been following this OT too closely so forgive me if I'm just repeating some general knowledge, but I know there are some things that seem iffy. I'd also like to point out I went through the game with light armor, with focus on dexterity, pyromancy, and dodging rather than blocking. There are some minor boss name and merchant name spoilers here.

- With my equipment NG+ and NG++ was a breeze save for
Flexible Sentry and The Lost Sinner
.
I didn't really notice any of the bosses doing any new attacks, but I did skip some optional ones. Flexible Sentry is downright unfair, I couldn't do it without the NPC summon drawing attention from me, I also used 3 ascetics previously in NG so I could kill him a few times with the NPC for her quest, so he ended up being NG+++++ difficult in my NG++ playthrough. At that point, everything was one-shotting me. Lighting The Lost Sinner's room doesn't stop the pyromancers from spawning, either. This was was trivialized with the NPC summon and Red Eye Ring, though. Every other boss was a breeze.

-
They placed black phantoms everywhere, mostly in annoying spots that will drive anyone crazy. The most annoying ones for me was the one in No-man's Wharf with the twinblade, and the one by the Entrance to Drangleic Castle with a broken hitbox on his weapon that will hit you when you are behind him when he's attacking vertically in front of him.

- In NG+, most of the merchants seem to carry the same things with the same quantities. If anyone is wondering where the(weapon location)
Scythe of Nahr Alma is from, I actually got this in NG after killing Titchy Gren and buying it from the Hag
. That was probably common knowledge by this point but I thought I'd point it out anyway since I had no idea.

- Besides new rings from bosses, the only new loot I found were off the
2 monsters in the Flexible Sentry fight and Gower's Ring of Protection. I think the new NPC-like black phantoms drop some new gear, but the drop-rates are so abysmal I didn't bother trying to farm them with ascetics since they don't respawn normally. Also, I noticed the Washing Pole wasn't in the same mimic chest anymore, instead I was given a Petrified Something and Dragon Bone.

- NG++ didn't feel any different than NG+. Pretty much everything was the same as NG+ to me with the exception being the damage.

- In NG++
Chancellor Wellagar allowed me to buy the Covenant spells right away, I didn't have to kill the Looking Glass Knight or any other boss. There's a lot of conflicting information on him so I hope this helps somehow.

- Pyromancy is incredible in this game, I have only base points in INT and FTH and it trivializes most bosses and enemies. I used Chaos Storm, Flame Swathe, Flame Weapon, and Firestorm the most. You will be surprised how it utterly humiliates bosses like the
Gargoyles or Royal Rat Authority
.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about the game if I can help.

Oh, weird. I actually did
smack him with my sword a few times, but when it seemed like nothing would happen I just moved on, heh.
I think i hit him like 10 times before he started to attack me back :)
Also, after you beat him
you must go to Shirne Of Amana to find his soul
.

You need to carry some
souls of the giants
. Otherwise you can hit him as much as you want he won't become hostile.
I actually had 3 Giant Souls when i started to fight him and i hit him maybe around 10 times before he attacked me. But yeah, you could probably hit him a lot more times before he starts to attack you if you dont have any Giant Souls indeed :)

As long as their phantom is alive when the fight ends you're golden. If their phantom dies and then you either die or quit out of the game you can try again, though if you quit you'll have to revisit a bonfire to make their summon sign reappear.

You can also use Bonfire Ascetics to farm easy boss wins for them, according to peeps who've tested it.
No Man's Wharf is the easiest Lucatiel win, and the first boss of Brightstone Cove is the easiest Benhart win.
Great, thanks for the info! :) I guess if i summon real players as well, and if the NPC dies, i need to pull the ethernet cable as fast as possible, so that the other real player doesnt kill the boss hehe. How does Bonfire Ascetics work in this regards? Does the NPC becomes more powerful then?

I wonder if I can coerce merchants into selling NG+ or NG++ stuff by using the ascetics on their nearest bonfires? OR if they're usually exempt from this anyway?

again:
Any tips to consistently avoid that AOE fire breath when he flies off? I tend to conserve all my stamina for a sprint and generally follow his tail. Sometimes it gets me, sometimes it doesn't, even if I do the same thing. Sometimes I mis-aim my sprint for a sec or two and think oh shit, but it doesn't get me. Sometimes I do a perfect sprint towards the tail and it gets me. I just don't get it. My sprints work about 80% of the time I think, but that's not good enough.

And I'm not even considering summoning for this boss because it will only add omre HP/defense to the boss, and phantoms can get OHKOed way too easily.
.

That's the only way. Take off your armor if you haven't allready. Run to him, hit his back leg 3 times. Now he either stomps or flies up. Rinse repeat. ALLWAYS stay close to his leg/tail to provoke a stomp. As far as the AOE goes, you just have to get better at dodging it. This might sound cocky, but it's the only way to kill him as a meele imho.

edit: Also, you know the animation is different for each attack he does right? The moment you see that he isn't stomping prepare to run.

How about you spoiler tag that shit, son? Geez.

I do know what the animation is when he's preparing that AOE. I'd love to get better at avoiding the fire, but I don't know how. As I said, sometimes I do the exact same thing twice in a row and I'll get hit once and not get hit the other time. It makes no sense to me.

OK guys I'm about to infuse either my uchi of blacksteel katana with lightning and I need some advice.

Both are +7 right now.

If I infuse my ichi, DEX A scaling downgrades to B. My 187 base damage goes down to 130, but I get a 130 lightning damage in return.

If I infuse my blacksteel, DEX S scaling stays the same, base damage goes down from 161 to 146 but I get 79 damage in return.

I've got about 20 faith and will be putting more points in it. S scaling not changing seems nice, but if I'm going for lightning I might as well be going all the way and infuse my uchi?

If you're going for a pure melee build, i would focus on Strength and Dexerity, then some more on on Endurance.

If you want to use magic, miracle, pyromancy etc., you need Atn. to be at level 10, then you get one magic slot. You get the next slot at level 13. You also need to be at least level 8 Int. and level 8 Fth. if you want to buy spells from certain NPCs.

Current SL120-ish and Soul Memory around 1.8-ish million. Working through S
hrine
of A
mauna
right now. Using a Bellkeeper Bow +10 as my bow of choice and it's working pretty well. So far I've been invaded in this area more times than in the rest of the game combined so far. Not that it's all that difficult. I think I've only had 2 invasions in other areas, but I'm up to 4 so far just working my way slowly through this area for the first time. Sadly I'm only 2-2 and one of those was a "ring out" by knocking the guy off a cliff with the last of my stamina otherwise he probably would have killed me.

I'm sorry but I don't really know what to say at this point ;o. Just try to move the camera upwards as much as possible to anticipate where he goes.

There sure is some luck involved, if he moves to the edge of the platform you'll have to guess most of the time whether he flies to the left or right. So try to avoid that situation by adjusting the leg you are hitting.

Just keep trying! :) I know how frustrating that fight can be, but you'll get there.

Very late game spoilers - the
Dragon Memories level
is absolutely beautiful, wow.

Indeed. I absolutely loved that.

If you're going into faith, I'd recommend the the Lightning Uchigatana. I used that during my faith until I respecced and it was an absolute beast. Are you asking mostly because you have 1 Boltstone? You can get more from the
Blue Covenant Guy in Heide's--as long as you meet the requirements to talk to him...which I think is like a few INT and a Token of Fidelity (which you get from being summoned and helping, or from that drop jump of 2nd bonfire in Hunstmans Copse--the only location in the game with it as a drop

What is your SL/SM?

What is your equipment?

Thanks for the thoughts. Never going to make it that far, but cool to know some people will . . .

Couple questions I've got.

First, how do you get that item on top of the tree in
Najka's
boss room?

Also, I was thinking of getting the spear you trade for the
Belfry Gargoyle
soul. Is it worth it? Or is the Dragonslayer spear the way to go?

Yeah I totally had no clue. I was re-scouring all of the forest of fallen giants for any possible new path. I did find my way down to the fire lizards in the process.

I thought that at first too but I ended up stumbling in on the Castle while exploring the Shaded Woods so I never scoured the FoFG for it.

She has to hit it while you are fighting her. It's trash tho. Gargoyle soul can only craft 1 item or be used for 6000 somewhat souls. So meh, get it and try it out.

1. SL 206/SM 7,981,047. You could stop at SL 150 and be pretty comfortable, I just felt like dumping points to make it easier.

2. in NG+ and beyond I stuck with
Curved Dragon Greatsword+5, Sun Sword, Hunter's Blackbow+10, Royal Kite Shield+10, and Dark Pyromancy Flame+10 since I am always fully hollow. My armor was Jester's Cap+10, Bone King Robe+5, Penal Handcuff+5, and Bone King Skirt+5. My rings were always the same, Ring of Binding, Covetous Gold Serpent Ring+1/2, Chloranthy Ring+1, and the Third Dragon Ring.

3. You can make it, I believe in you.
