Why the other Avengers aren't constantly appearing each others' films:

In fiction - Because the characters have other things to and don't have time to deal with every problem.

In reality - Because the actors have other things to do and don't have time to be in every movie.

Really hoping this is better than the first movie. Royally sucked, that. Apparently it IS great, according to reviews anyway. Will be seeing this soon.

It's not necessarily a bullshit question, since these movies make direct references to the others. At the same time, each movie separates itself easily while keeping within the same universe, like comic books.

The only time I think an Avengers/SHIELD intervention may have been warranted was Malakith's appearance in London trying to unleash the Aether. It ended up being a contained incident in that small area of London (plus the other realms) vs. the entire city like New York in The Avengers. The Dark Elves didn't really pose as big a threat as the Chitauri to require a response team.
That fight happened in minutes though. It'd be over before anyone else could move out.

Really looking forward to this. Just booked our tickets to see it next Wednesday after work. Going to try to resist watching anything else about it until then.

Hawkeye got abducted by aliens during a SHIELD op, duh. And he will be rescued by the Guardians of the Galaxy. But not before he saw all the wonders of the universe.

Except Hawkeye along with BW and Cap (and now hopefully Falcon) are core agents within shield. It's easy to hand wave away but if you're gonna do that people are gonna wonder.. especially when it's not some MCU generated no fiction character but you know.. fuckin hawkeye!

He should be in that core team. Hell.. i would say that if it wasn't for scarjo and datass being a ticket draw Hawkeye would make a LOT more sense as a front lines right hand style soldier to go out on raids and rescue with Cap than fuckin Natasha.

Is it terrible that I've watched the first 10 minutes of the movie six times now?

Obviously the above link contains 10 minutes of spoilers, but, yeah, it's awesome. Shows the humor is present, but not overbearing, shows the solid action, and shows a pretty cool report between Cap and Widow.

Can't wait to see this. I've tried to go in as dark as possible, but I ended up accidentally seeing the 'In Pursuit' trailer and, man, the bit where Cap's running through those hallways so fast that he slams into the wall and leaves a shield-shaped crater might be my favourite bit of physical action/comedy/awesomeness in the whole MCU.

Any other country getting the retarded name change "The Return Of The First Avenger: Captain America"? (And no, it's not just a tagline, it is the official Swedish title.)

The most brilliant thing with this, is that "The Winter Soldier" is still on the posters

The companies just doesnt care anymore it seems. Just name it "A Marvel Movie" with the tagline: "Now give us money"

My country got "Captain America: Insolent/Confident/Prideful* Grim Reaper."

Wow, spoilers ahoy!

Replicant, on mobile we can see the image of that youtube video, spoiled for all to see.

And that other spoiler, smfh.

Bunch of savages in this town.

I wish I could give you guys the straight skinny, but doing so would spoil the movie anyway...

Everything here is totally without context, and don't believe everything you see here. Even what I said!

Why are spoilers -- tagged or otherwise -- being posted in this thread at all? There's a completely separate spoiler thread for this movie.

goddammit, I really had zero idea of that cameo -- and I never get surprised by these movies!

On mobile it shows you the damn spoiler anyway, being a YouTube link. Hope the mods catch this sort of thing, it's incredibly annoying.

Yep, that's why I said "may" had it gotten out of hand, like the Chitauri invasion. At the end of it, Thor handled the situation. No response team needed.

Pretty much the cleanup crew.

well there really isn't an Avengers mansion and a full team with alternates living in NYC responding to threats they all went their own ways for the time being after part 1. I heard these questions when Thor2 dropped and honestly after seeing the film...it was bullshit they were on earth for minutes . They were able to react in part one because for half the movie Loki was in their face. Thor 2 was mostly in other realms least of all was earth. They didnt know what was going on, the only person who could've told them was taken off of earth.

Just 2 more weeks to go til I get to see my most anticipated movie of 2014. The wait is absolutely UNBEARABLE!

Everything they are doing should be thoroughly commended. Despite what you think about the quality (I've only been UNentertained a few times personally) it's fucking amazing that we are witnessing this. It's insane.

They're making a goddamn Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I didn't even know that franchise existed until a few months ago.
It's really insane seeing how they've pulled this off. An interconnected universe with so many people involved and hitting gold on nearly everything they put out. I've become such a big Marvel fan because of the MCU.

I've always been a Marvel fan, as I used to read their comics when I was younger. But the MCU has really fired up that young fanboy in me. Between what is promised in the Movies and TV, it's like being a kid again with my allowance in my pocket during a trip to the comic book store for the afternoon. I want to watch it all and see how it all connects. A new Marvel movie excites me regardless of who it is about because I know it all comes together in the end.

Random observation:
The first 2 pics, at first glance, look like the same shot from the same scene.
But at a closer look, in the second pic the folder in her hand is flipped around the other way.

What's this? A continuity error in Winter Soldier?!

Eh, it happens I guess. But now I'll be specifically focused on catching it when I watch the movie so I can look superior to my friends and they'll think I'm secretly Sherlock Holmes or something.

Quite looking forward to this. Haven't been especially keen on the Marvel movies so far, Avengers apart, but the first Captain America was my favourite because his sincerity and unabashed deceny was a welcome relief when cynical, snarky anti-heroes seem to be everywhere right now (even Superman had to be all conflicted and kill someone at the end). Hopefully that'll be kept intact even when faced with more ambiguous moral dilemmas, and as ridiculous as it sounds, that's probably the part of the film I'm most looking forward to - unless Hayley Atwell magically reappears, because yowser - as the big CGI set-pieces which usually dominate these things tend to leave me cold.

Even if the films have mostly been pretty mediocre, I really appreciate and enjoy what is being done with the inter-connected Marvel Movie Universe and am particularly looking forward to seeing what happens when it goes a bit more 'out there' with Guardians Of The Galaxy (assault rifle toting raccoon, huzzah!). Not being a comic book reader at all, it's fun seeing this universe come together and it sounds like Winter Soldier is going to make it a bit more politically and morally complex, which is fine by me. Fingers crossed.

Don't want to see this in 3D. Sick of watching movies that weren't filmed in the format, only to find that the action scenes are indecipherable and the image is too dark. Do, it looks like I'm going to Dublin to see it during the day.
