Also... I know there are others, but anyone else here like the first Captain America movie? It seems a lot of GAF seems to think the movie was just trash. Sure the second half could have been done better, but I still don't think it ruined it or anything.

Just watched all the TV spots. I kinda feel like I've seen the whole movie now.
I LOVE IT. I think sometimes even more than Avengers.

I've been in the dark for a couple weeks now, feels good. Thankfully Marvel made the wait easier with the AoU and GOTG pics.

It's my 3rd favourite Phase 1 film, behind Avengers and Iron Man. I wish Cap got a second Phase 1 film instead of Iron Man, would have loved to see more adventures from WW2 era Cap beyond that montage in the film.

It's probably my least favourite Marvel film, but it's far from trash. GAF hyperbole in action once again.
I saw the weirdest trailer for this movie in the cinema the other day. It showed the entire elevator scene before showing the rest of the (regular) trailer, I was seriously wondering if I had accidentally wandered into the wrong movie. I'm going to use this as the prime example why I avoid trailers from now on.

Saw it last night in the UK. Movie's ridiculously good, and they're not kidding when they say it changes the Marvel landscape from now on. Also, there's a shit ton of references to the rest of the MCU for the keen ear, and the mid-credits scene which teases
is great!

I heard there are 2 scenes, one mid credits and one post credits.
Got my ticket for today, cant wait if it really is worth the scores (cap america 1 was ok, but overall not as good as other avengers cast movies)

Saw it this morning in a packed screening which was fairly odd for a 1045am showing on a Wednesday. Loved it. Much better than the original Cap movie. Really felt like a 70's thriller at times.

Didn't even realise it's day one....
And not cos I was excited, rather cos it's Wednesday. Or as we call it here, 'Orange Wednesday'. We get movie tickets for half price basically. Just so happened Cap was in the movies
It's a 12A. Plus it's pretty violent. There's one bit where a guy gets tossed into a turbine of those hoveraircraft things.... No blood though.

So it is a pretty damn fun movie. Really exciting and tense. On first viewing I'd put it up there with IM3 and Avengers in the top tier of Marvel films. Most of Marvel's output is fun due to their fantastic casting but this feels like their most complete product. It is well directed, acted and plotted. I don't really care for comics but I really liked Falcon: I thought he might end up being too similar to War Machine as a wisecracking sidekick, but they gave him a nice little niche. The bigger cast was handled really well: nobody felt underused yet Captain America still remained front and centre.
