MGSV: Ground Zeroes - Spoilers Thread - #TeamBowie

Kaz: Boss, there's a new recruit here I'd like you to size up.

Boss: Kaz, I don't have time to vet every greenhorn that signs up for Diamond Dogs.

Kaz: I think you'll be a little interested in this one, Boss.

Boss: Fine. Let me test him out. Step forward!

???: Yes sir!

*a bunch of CQC shit*

Boss: You're decent... but nothing special. And you left yourself wide open in a spot a soldier doesn't want to leave unprotected! *strikes ??? in the crotch*

Boss: Sorry, but on the battlefield you fight underhanded if it wi- what?

???: No, I'm sorry, Boss! *flips Big Boss*

Boss: Eurgh... nice throw. But how did you... don't tell me!

Kaz: Yep. He's part of a mysterious mercenary group that all has the same... condition. His codename... is Farewell Sausage.

You just outed yourself as Kojima and broke your NDA all in one post.

You know what was more possible than this? That the interview Geoff gave was CGI. And that wasn't very possible.

Not even the same character looks consistent in the Metal Gear saga:

Is that the Twin Snakes Remake? Because Kojima has said already that whatever design choice for the characters or changes in scenes are not canon.

Plus we're talking that the game where the character reappeared was developed almost 10 years later, with the passing of 2 generations.

Hmm, two mods...

So, what are the chances Amanda shows up in TPP? Higher that Cecile, but both would be an interesting cameo. Do you suppose there's more reason to Huey being tortured by Diamond Dogs than that he was potentially involved in the destruction of MSF? Maybe they want to find out what Strangelove is up to? Ocelot said, "he said something interesting, Cipher is pursuing new research. He said what they're working on is in Africa, a weapon to surpass Metal Gear." Seems like the Patriot AI foundations, something it's likely Strangelove would be working on, forced or not. They might think Huey knows something, after all the "he" is almost definitely in reference to Huey.

Snake said that, actually. And it does seem possible that Strangelove is working on AI.

Boss: So Sausage... tell me more about this former merc group of yours.

Sausage: They're known as the Renouncers. They forsake their homelands, their names, even their manhood. Everything.

Boss: Eurgh... what would drive a person to go that far?

Sausage: Usually a past we want to escape. Sins that we wish to absolve. Anything that ties us to our sins, we renounce what made us.

Boss: Hmm. I've done plenty of bad things and lost a lot... but I'm not sure I'd do that.

Sausage: You've always been an honorable man, Boss. Fighting for what you believe in. I remember a recruit we got into the Renouncers about 8 years ago. He was practically a kid. He was crippled from fighting, and he was already pretty messed up. He wanted a fresh start, a new name, a new face... and the idea of "being a man" was his "sin."

Boss: So... what did he do?

Sausage: He became a woman. I don't know what became of her after that.

Boss: Hmmm. Some people will really do whatever it takes to atone for the past. I suppose I know the feeling.

Hmm, two mods...

Three.

Three Mods.

I mined the lyrics of Sins of the Father to find more evidence.

Imagine all mods posting consequently.

That wasn't Snake saying it. It was definitely Troy Baker's Ocelot.

Well, it certainly wasn't Troy Baker. I'm sure that was Sutherland's voice who said the thing about the missing piece in Africa.

EDIT: Baker's voice is much more forced. Compare it to the beginning of the Red Band trailer, and to the ending VO. It sounds more relaxed, and then compare it to what Sutherland has said in Ground Zeroes. Very similar, right?

Oh, my God. I'm dying... That's so good.

I think MGS5 will have plenty of surprises on-hand, though, and am dying to find out what actually happens!

Now I'm gonna be really disappointed if some of these crazy theories end up being wrong. I really want some crazy stuff like Punished Snake not being Big Boss and now Chico becoming Quiet.

It was Troy Barker's Ocelot the one who says the thing about "The weapon to surpass Metal Gear".

I've listened to it several times. It's not Sutherland at all, I can assure you of that.

And Baker's not "forcing it" in the "weapon to surpass Metal Gear" scene because he's not having to yell over a sandstorm.

He doesn't have any lines in a sandstorm, unless you believe he was actually telling Snake that Kaz is in Afghanistan while they're casually trotting through a sandstorm. Eh, I guess there's been worse dialogue but I think that is dubbed from soon after Snake is rescued.

Holy shit, it is Troy Baker. THAT MAN HAS ONE HELL OF A RANGE. I was just about to say that if that was Troy then the Chico and Quiet theory had to be true. I guess I'm really just deaf.

Even the MGS3 being VR training was more logical than this.

At least the E3 2003 trailer keep talking about reliving events like the Cold War.

Sorry to break the flow of the thread, but: Does any know what the difference between the Normal and Hard difficulty is? Seemed the same to me? Also, how do you unlock the Deja Vu mission on PS4?

Enemies a quite a bit more aware, see you from longer distances. That's about all I could tell really.

To unlock the mission you need to find all of the XOF patches in Ground Zeroes.
