Just saw this, it's the best Marvel Cinematic Universe movie without a doubt. Not a single second was wasted, I was basically glued to the screen during the entire film. The action choreography was amazing, so elaborate, also the best I've seen in a Marvel flick. Great stuff, couldn't be happier.

You son of a bitch. You, along with others, are cementing this necessity to see it on opening night. Don't tell me it's so good! God damn it

i'm seeing this tomorrow at 8 with my girlfriend and my best friend. after last night's episode of Agents of SHIELD, i'm ready for tomorrow night.

Saturday is going to be epic for me and the wife. Going to a seafood feast event, afterwards its CAP time. Although now I am thinking of watching it first before the unavoidable food coma I am going to be in.

Great great film I think this might be my favourite MCU film to date. I love the avengers but this was kind of on another level.

Evans is really great in the role, hes nailing it. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Although I think most of the marvel studios movies are hit and miss I'm glad to see the Winter Solider is getting great reviewws from critics and fans especially as a HUGE fan of the Brubaker run on Cap. Most definitely will be checking this out this weekend with my friends.

For those who seen it in 3d, is it good?

The general consensus so far is to see it in 2D, the 3D adds nothing and is not worth it. That's what most people have been saying anyway.

Well, I'm ready.

Tickets booked for Saturday.

And I just got these two since I didn't manage to get into the $50 advance screening that gave away the figure on the left:

FunkoPOP figures! Nice, I love those. I have Iron Man and Iron Patriot for Marvel stuff so far. They'll likely sell it for real though.

Wow....

Just saw a sneak preview and ... Wow...

This was one hell of a movie! One FUCKING HELL OF A MOVIE!

For someone who hasn't watched a single Marvel cinematic film but has read the comics, how lost will I be? Curious about the movie because Chris Evans was great in Snowpiercer.

Read which comics? Do you know that Captain America is a WW2 super soldier fighting a Nazi high tech organization known as Hydra? Do you know he was frozen in ice and defrosted in modern day? Do you know that he works for an international intelligence/defense organization called SHIELD, run by Nick Fury? If you know all that, you should be good to go for this movie.

Turns out the closest theater near me is showing at 8/8:30/9 tonight. I can't order tickets online and I get out of school at 6:30 tonight. What are the chances of me getting a ticket? <_<

The movie theater is usually packed during a movie like this >_>

Read the Brubaker run many years ago but yes, I know all of that! Looks like they haven't deviated much from the comics. Guess I'll watch the movie next week. Thanks.

Saw it in IMAX last weekend, loved it, one of my favourite Marvel films. And i don't even care about Captain America at all.

This movie is a TON of fun if you've read the Brubaker run. In fact, he even has a cameo in the movie. :)

I don't give a shit about X-Men and Spider-Man if they keep this up. Interesting that FF isn't mentioned in that same sentence. I wonder if the roadmap does include potential FF movies.

Whedon is already sabotaging the project as we speak, and soon he shall be reporting to Overlord Feige. Everything is going according to plan.

Loved this movie. Definitely my favorite of the solo MCU movies, and I think I liked it more than the Avengers too.

Did anyone who has seen it yet catch the easter egg before the credits?
On Nick Fury's grave, it read "'The path of the righteous man...' Ezekiel 25:17".

In 14 years I can definitely see them adding enough characters and series to make the MCU effectively as densely populated and diverse as 616. They can literally tell stories forever and as long as they continue making GOOD movies and making them feel fresh and diverse (this strategy of assigning different "genres" to each movie is super effective), people are going to keep showing up.

Yup. This could be a great journey. Only potential issue is casting. I'm sure at some point they'll just Ant Viv a cast member to see how it's received.

That's exactly what Feige has been saying from early on. Their plan is to "James Bond" it. The negative impact from recasting a main character is far less than rebooting continuity ad-nauseam, especially when every movie is so intrinsically tied to the next.

"I think Bond is a good example. Let’s put it this way: I hope Downey makes a lot of movies for us as Stark. If and when he doesn’t, and I’m still here making these movies, we don’t take him to Afghanistan and have him wounded again. I think we James Bond it."

"I think [the character] can age with the actor, if the actor stays with it."

"I think the term reboot has got to go. I think it’s like after the Star Wars movies nobody likes the idea of prequels, and reboots have turned into the same thing. It means ‘Oh they’ve run out of ideas! It’s bad.’ I’ve seen The Amazing Spider-Man. It’s awesome. It’s totally fresh and unique."

These quotes are from 2012. Obviously I don't expect Feige to be doing this forever, but given the level of control and influence he has had over Marvel Studios as a whole, and provided the current run of movies continues to be successful, I don't see his successor changing the game plan.
