God I'm getting one shot'd by this rat boss.
Ugh
perhaps you are getting petrified?

He just takes on lunge or swipe at me and that's it. I'm not hitting purified status. I can easily take out the minions before he jumps down
It scales with the lowest stat you have. So if all of your stats are in the 20's and, say, ADP is at 5 or whatever, that 5 is what a Mundane weapon will scale with.
It's useful for Avelyns due to how crossbows innately don't scale. The bonus you get from going all 20's (with 37 str and 22 dex to powerstance, and the rest dumped into vigor) is higher than what you would get with an elemental infuse, iirc.
Wow, maybe I'll try a build that incorporates Hexes next.
Do they work better with INT or FAI?
On another note, I love how some of the more iconic DaS stuff has made a reappearance. In Heide's Tower I shat myself when.Old Dragonslayer stepped up to the plate
Could you explain what Mundane does? When I hover over it in the imbue menu it seems to have a negative affect on all my weapons. Figured it must be good for something...
In your hypothetical, what would 5 scale like? Is it like an A,B,C type scaling or a flat increase? Just trying to gauge what type of damage increase something with No innate scaling would achieve.
In thefight, am I the only one who noticed you canScorpioness NajkaStands to reason that she can't burrow through solid stone. I didn't see that mentioned in the guide and every LP'er I've seen scrambles around like a chicken with their head cut off when she uses that attack.safely avoid her burrowing attack by standing on the sunken piece of masonry?
I knew the king's ring would unlock the sealed doors previously found in FofG, Shrine of Winter, and Drangleic Castle. I didn't start exploring with that item until I had the Ash Heart, which conveniently enough let me dive into the first giant the moment I saw it. Once I got out I backtracked to the other giant corpses I remembered.
There's a post on reddit that gives specifics on how much the weapon scales depending on the value of your lowest stat when using the mundane infusion.

Hexes scale with both INT and FAI, whichever is lower. So the dude I was playing against probably had high INT and FAI since you need 42 (iirc) to cast that hex that silences everyone.
Wow, interesting. So it's good for weapons that don't innately scale, or maybe weapons later on for which you have the base requirements, but the "wrong build".
So if I had a FAI build and didn't touch INT the entire game, Hexes would be pretty powerful based on that consistently low INT stat? Like "mundane miracles"?
Thanks for the responses yous guys.
It's funny you say that because I actually made it tobefore even discovering any of the alternate paths. I was probably a little under-leveled at the time but when I made it toSinner's Risethe bottom floor with water and saw those large lumbering freaks, I said NOPE, and got the hell out. I guess I've exhausted all other paths at this point and must now do some unfinished business.
I never really got stuck until I had to figure out how to get to.Drangleic
- katana in one hand, pyro hand in the other - load up Forbidden Sun with hexer's hood to get that extra cast - abuse the fucked up hitboxes with the katana's running/backstep 1HR1, cast Forbidden Sun on stagger for kills. You can also do this with hexes and make it even better by using Resonant Weapon on a Dark infused katana and casting GRS with your offhand. The perk of going dex/pyro is better endurance and vigor due to no investment in the casting stats. The perk of going dex/hex is greater damage potential overall.
I was in the Doors of Pharros when I got summoned. Never put down a sign. There are a few areas in the game where other players can draw you into their worlds without putting down a summon sign. Unless you were summoned for co-op without a sign...which would be really weird.
A Dex/hex? How would you go about that? I've been going full sorcery and I have been doing fine, but I would like to mix it up.
- if someone with a dragon chime kneels down, roll away twice. Wrath of the Gods hurts. This is why you have 50 vigor - it's barely enough to survive that hit.
Think this is the worst pvp in the series. I think the current imbalance between spellcasting and pure melee can be solved by fudging with the numbers, but the sluggish movement and the weird hitboxes won't be.
After reading all that I feel like your loss percentage is about 0% haha. Just starting ng+ with some soul vessals so this is great advice when I pvp. Thanks!Well, used up the last of my invasion orbs (and soul vessels) tonight. Free at last!
- dark infused chime in one hand, +10 pyro hand in the other, Great Resonant Soul and Flame Swathe loaded up - zone with Swathe, kill with GRS (although you'll often kill with Swathe anyways due to how high your Fire bonus damage scales with the same stats that increases Dark damage). Swathe gets them rolling, punish as they recover with GRS. It casts fast. Really fast, with the right rings. Same principle as using Dark Fog, but unlike Dark Fog, Swathe will hit for 1200+ damage per shot if it lands. It usually won't, but you're just using it to open them up for GRS anyways.
- dual mundane Avelyns murder people - one or two burst just about everyone below sl200! Load up 999 dark bolts and 999 lightning bolts and gogogo.

- the classic - crystal magic weapon buffed MLGS in your right hand, a Staff of Wisdom in your left, launch your favorite sorcery nukes, toss out a Soul Greatsword to keep them on their toes, smack them for Great Damage with the MLGS. If a dex/hex build wasn't so good, this would be the best build.
- abuse Chameleon/Silver Talisman. They can't lock onto you as you charge up to them. Laugh as clerics toss sunlight spears 70 degrees away from you in panic.
- want to go full melee? It's not all that bad since most people are still new to the game, but remember that - ng+ at least - a single Crystal Soul Spear landing on you means 70% or more of your health gone, just like that. They're easy to roll away from, until a spear fired off about 20 yards away from you clips you anyways. You want as much endurance as possible. You want to outrun and outmuscle all the dinky mages spamming nukes at you.
Using greatshields (like a Rebel Greatshield) is an option, but they slow you down and I found it best to just go without a shield, staying under 30% equip burden. Try to find a weapon with good speed and poise damage. Again, katanas reign supreme here.
- I kept agility above 100 at all times. Felt like it helped.
- if someone with a dragon chime kneels down, roll away twice. Wrath of the Gods hurts. This is why you have 50 vigor - it's barely enough to survive that hit.

Are you playing PvP on NG++? What SL are people playing there?
edit: Also, why would anyone want to use the chaos blade over any of the other katanas?
Ok that makes sense. Didn't relies that happened.Doors of Pharros and tomb of saints are the area were you can get summoned in other player game
Pretty sure all the other cycles after NG are grouped together. I don't think SL matters. It's still pure soul memory. Stayed at 150 on both characters, did most of my playing on one of these characters at the end of NG+ (so I could farm soul vessels off the).giant memories
I like the chaos blade for its weight, speed, and damage. If you're using hexes you'll be losing hp anyways due to the Abyss Seal, but it doesn't matter due to how fast you kill.
The washing pole is great, too, but I feel like I need to get something out of the 15 petrified dragon bones I spent upgrading the CB.
I usually trick people by using Great Heal which has the same animation as Wrath of the Gods. When people are like "oh no, this guy is healing better go in for the kill"... SURPRISE!- if someone with a dragon chime kneels down, roll away twice. Wrath of the Gods hurts. This is why you have 50 vigor - it's barely enough to survive that hit.
Hrmm. Opened the chest in Majula Mansion that usually contains a Soul Vessel but I just got a Divine Blessing instead. What gives?
Apparently this was changed with the latest calibration.
Off-topic: After 4,5 years I'm finally a full member.
What's the difference between a calibration and a patch?
NG+ down. Just need the to buy the last Sorcery and Pyromancy on my NG++ run and I'm done with the trophies.
Now if I could only get to the Chaos Storm chest again so I can pick up another.
Is this the calibration that lets us turn human after doing co-op?
And congratulations!
damn, what's the rules for Lucatiel? She just died on The Rotton. Well, I did too for that matter
Is her quest borked for me now?
can you buy cracked red eye orbs in NG+ for an infinite amount?
Yes.
Small question regarding ranking up in the bell keepers covenant: do you automatically get a message and your reward after the necessary kills or do you have to talk to the little guy in the tower ?
Does the damage scale differently on the fire rocks in NG+ or something? If you had enough fire defense to get it once a 2nd time should be trivial.
Pretty sure there's some art of him in the CE artbook, I'll take some pictures later when I get home if someone hasn't already.
Seems like it..might not be getting my set of Orange Burr/Flash Sweat/Lifegems/Water vases/Estus going as well as I'd like.
Also probably their most evil/hilarious new enemy placement in NG+There's a red phantom Alonne Knight on the fire rock path.
Any armor recommendation for a pure sorcerer?
I only upgraded my starter chest piece but still I dont like any light armor outside the Alva set and equip wherever light armor I find in the respective area.
