I didn't expect Smash Direct this month actually. I did expected to see Smash Direct during Jan and March but April, nope since it's too close to Mario Kart, April Bimonthly and E3. I'm definitely HYPED!

I think Iwata and Nintendo are going to be very aggressive with Smash and Mario Kart to make sure that they are going to sell Wii U.
I meant, we just started with new fiscal year, and we already got a blow out with Mario Kart 8, and now we are getting Smash Direct. I really hope that it would be a great year for Nintendo.

Maybe a few vets to clear it up a little, and hopefully a peak at the menu UI and SP options.
On the 3DS side, at least a couple of minutes of footage, and hopefully a look at the game's UI.

The only reason why Snake has a chance really NOW is because Raiden's voice actor SAID he worked on it. Mind you there's no proof... I just don't want him in the game anyway. Get him and his magic feet outta here.
I'm also hoping for a freaking title change, even though APPARENTLY these are the permanent titles. God no.

tbqh there was also a Pokemon Direct around a month before October for Mega Kanto.
Smash alone justified the purchase of my Wii U (and 4 Pro Controllers), but between Mario Kart, Tropical Freeze, and 3D World, it's easily in contention for my favorite Nintendo console. Would really love to see Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess get the HD treatment like Wind Waker did, that would probably place it very near the PS3 as my favorite console ever. Or if Nintendo bought Naughty Dog.

I think they are going to save veterans for last few months of reveals like they did with Brawl before the delay happened.
I really hope to see like few minutes of 3DS trailer since I would like to see it in motion. How could I forget about UI.
Yeah, Sakurai said that it's finalized titles. It's okay name, but I would like to see Universe and Dimension to happens since it actually made sense.
Well, Snake would work very well for E3 reveal so I'm not sure anymore now.

I think we'll see Snake, based on the direct time. The time is set more for Americans than Japan, just like Little Mac, they are both more popular in NA/EU than in JP.

Well, I don't know anything about her since I haven't play 3DS version yet, and I don't think I will. However, I can say this, I'm surprised that she is an assist trophy since I was pretty sure that Tom Nook would be Assist trophy or Mr. Resetti would return. I hope that they would get rid of him. He was funny at first but got old pretty fast.
Yeah but other people explained that mo-cap workers got credited in the PSABR but he didn't which is weird.

I don't know.. I did put him in my prediction list but people made a good point about Villager being sole representative. At least, I'm pretty happy that we got animal crossing representative.

To be fair, a LOT of characters would work well for an E3 Reveal. Heck, SONIC could've been one and people still would be happy, yet we were fine all the same when he just got a normal reveal. I just cannot see Metal Gear Solid having actual... reference in these games.
And yes, those names would've been PERFECT. I really despise having those names, but I probably would say wanna play "Smash U" and "Smash 3DS" if I had any friends to ask. Though, let's all be honest, most of us are going Smash U.
It's supposed to pun on 4, I think.

Yeah, you might be right about E3 reveal. Smash U is my main game, but I'm going to play 3DS sometime if my kids decided to watch repetitive shows or movies.
Smash is probably in a league of its own, so the rules may not apply (it might get multiple directs, for all i know), but... isn't it the case that a direct for ONE game usually means the game is about to come out?
Wonderful 101 direct was on Aug 9, the game came out Aug 23/24 and Sept 15 In USA. Appx 2-4 weeks
Wii Fit U direct was on Sept 18, and the game came out around Nov 1 Appx 6 weeks
Pokemon X/Y direct was on Sept 4, and game came out October 12 appx 6 weeks
HOWEVER, pokemon had its first direct (the announcement direct) back on January 8, 9 months before release. This means there is precedence for there being multiple directs exclusive to one game, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, that doesn't mean the E3 direct from last year is discounted either. We got a full 10+ minute developer direct for smash bros, too.

Not sure if this is too early to ask, but could somoeone supply me a link of where the direct will be stored after it will be broadcasted? I have to work when it will be streamed and I wanted to watch the whole thing when I get out of work. I don't want to Google "Smash Bros Direct" and get spoiled by the top links in Google search.

Pokemon XY had multiple Directs and events. I see Smash being the same.
Also, regarding the POTD, Isabelle is probably going to drop food that the fighters can eat to heal.

Correct on both counts! I see this smash direct outlining one or two new features, such as the 'adventure' mode or maybe what he was talking about when he said you could 'customize' parts of your game. I could also see a couple of veterans and maybe a newcomer.
I could then see another trailer for E3 with another newcomer or two, and maybe more features (that are easily shown in a trailer, but require no verbal explanation).
I then see one last Smash direct 2-6 weeks before release to put the bow on the box and show off online or something (a feature that will likely be completed last).

I'm a little annoyed that Nintendo is wasting an entire direct for a game we get updates on literally every day. For the last year, Nintendo has been shoving DK, Mario Kart, Mario 3D World and Smash down our throats . Don't get me wrong, they all look fantastic, but they aren't going to get someone like me who is on the fence to pony up the doh to buy a Wii U. They are extremely safe sequels that I have already more or less experience with the predecessors on Wii and 3DS.
I was really hoping Nintendo's next direct would focus on introducing new games that we haven't been getting endless updates on for the last year, but I guess they are saving that for E3. But the Smash Direct is overkill in my opinion.
I'm expecting a release date that means nothing because I'm sure the game will be delayed until Holiday 2015 and a trailer introducing a new character. What I'm hoping for is the reveal of a robust online multiplayer and leaderboard mode and a far more fleshed-out stage builder. Smash 4 is an extremely safe sequel, but those two improvements could really make it stand on its own in a way I feel Brawl completely failed.

Eh? I'm pretty sure that we are going to get bimonthly direct later this month for other games. I think they want to reveal good amount of Smash so they might figure that it might be better if it's standby direct for Smash only, and they can share more information on new games in bimonthly direct.
