I wonder how Arnold would look with a buzzcut look a la Bruce Willis, his hair is getting awfully thin now.

Arnie pulls off the bearded look so fucking good. Needs to embrace it and do away with the hair. Would be a whole 'nutha person. Hopefully some film he does in the future requires it. :P

He's in damn fine shape in that picture, easily his best in years, regardless of how he got to that shape at 66 years of age.
 
What's the point of including those (young) nobodies into this movie? (at least by naming them along with the the others)
Would have traded all of them for Kurt Russel or Lucy Lawless.

Probably to attract those actors' respective fanbases so the younger generations take an interest while the fans of the older guys will probably go see it anyway.

That would be their sensible reason. Mine would be to provide some cannon fodder. :D

I'm not that young anymore but still, I don't think I've seen anyone of them in a major action movie release. But ok, I guess some sports fans will now go see the movie.
I like your cannon fodder version more.

I guess they could include something like in RED, the old guys have to stick it to the young kids. Just that they probably don't have enough money to get (actual) current young action stars (especially if they will lose) :P

I didn't see this until you specifically pointed it out, but I suppose some of their poses kind of do that. Though... how did you notice this? Why are you paying attention to their crotches?
 
To my understanding Kurt has turned down offers all three times.

He's had the following three excuses:

-he's not interested in doing big ensemble films (meh)
-he's retired (no longer retired, as I believe he's going to be in an upcoming F&F movie)
-he's too old to be running around being an action hero (Personally I disagree. He's kept himself in good shape and could bulk up again if he wanted to).

Stallone keeps offering, though. He's very persistent, it seems.


Maybe Kurt's just waiting for Stallone to ask him to make a Tango & Cash 2 instead? ;)
 
Kurt Russell spoke recently about turning down a role in The Expendables:

I really hope Li will be in this movie more than 5 mins. Pissed me off that he wasn't in the last one as much.

Jackie Chan and Li in this movie would have kicked so much ass in term of martial arts. I wouldn't even have minded if Jackie Chan was playing a bad guy lol
 
Is this the most jacked Mel has ever been? He would make a perfect old Bruce Wayne for a Batman Beyond film even more now.

Opposite for me. 1 was entertaining, had something resembling substance and a nicely executed final action sequence.

For me, 2 was pretty forgettable outside of Van Damme and seeing Planet Hollywood fight alongside each other during the last 15 minutes. Also it initially being PG-13 is really felt despite the reshoots and cg blood added in post.

Or you could just watch the all-superior Rambo IV instead.

Man these movies come across so desperate and sad. Buncha 80s and 90s action washouts tryna relive their past.

Also never knew snipes was out of prison
