Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

My personal guess is a simultaneous worldwide release in November. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it's earlier, but I don't think it's going to be pushed back into 2015.

The only way smash is out in summer is if Zelda and another huge unannounced non-bayonetta title are also releasing in the winter.

September at the earliest is my guess.

a random person? lol
over/under 2 stocks for M2K to download the game physics

Usually when I type that
fanfiction
idea out, I say the winner of Melee GFs gets shoulder tapped and asked to play Sakurai, but I forgot to there.

I'd say 2 or even 3 stocks at which point he either bodies because robot mode or Sakurai takes it four stock because he engages manufacturer's mode.

If it were the Melee winner, I'd actually want Mango to win just for the popoff after the exhibition.
so much salt

I know this doesn't mean anything, but it's still kind of interesting:

Kid Icarus Twitter launch - February 22, 2012
Kid Icarus: Uprising release - March 22, 2012

Animal Crossing Twitter launch - October 5, 2012
Animal Crossing: New Leaf release - November 8, 2012

Super Smash Bros. Twitter launch - April 4, 2014
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U release - ???
Oh my.

Be still, my heart.

So how long until Nintendo actually starts participating in these events?

EDIT:
I envy all you guys who get dreams about Smash. All I dream about is getting superpowers from getting bitten by magic mosquitoes.

New question:

What is the worst possible SINGLE change sakurai and team could make to the game?

What one thing could he do to ensure that this game fails/is hated by the community?

You are wondering about baseless speculation yet come up with same stuff yourself?
Let's not pretend this game has been anything other than 'November 2014 at the earliest' for a while now.

This way, if I'm wrong I still win.

Removal of stock mode or item switch.

Actually, the worst would be if it required an Internet connection to play. But no way Nintendo can figure out how to do that.

"You can now enjoy Smash Bros. exclusively on your iPhone or android devices."

I don't think Nintendo even knows that online-only games exist.

The A button blows up the world when pressed.

Removal of stock mode was my idea as well :)

"Worst" can be a lot of things. I suppose he could remove tripping for "tripping," where your characters randomly start hallucinating and you see goblins all over the screen.

That would really be awful. I wouldn't play much, unless there was some other legit mode to make up for it. Time is really bad for 1v1s, and coin isn't much better.

You know, like EVO.
That would be cool. They already allow their games to be show cased there, I'm surprised they don't go a tiny extra step and promote the new game too. But that would make too much sense. They're probably worried about scaring off the less dedicated players.

"oh god, Dr. PP's 4-stocking everyone left and right, I don't want to play this anymore"-said nobody ever

lol

Exactly. If it's a thing, it's the dumbest thing ever. I can't think of any legitimate reason they've had to be reticent about it the past two years though. It's just free advertising. Knowing your fanbase gets this dedicated, you'd think they would want to support it and draw more people for those events.

There it is. That's the worst.

Seriously though, there are lots of possible "worsts"... but I don't think any of them will come to pass.

Well, Mobile game, if you lose one stock. If you want to have second chance to come back. If you are losing then there is a quick button on screen where you will have to press it quickly to pay 2.99 for a stock so you can have second chance. That button would have a logo on it, "YOU MUST RECOVER."

Removal of stock mode was my idea as well :)

I suggested that long time ago and people think I was stupid for joking that but Sakurai. He's one that added tripping in first place.

Announcing a Direct 4 days before it happens...
Why?! It's usually 2 days before! It's like torture!

Sakurai better be presenting this one then! Please :)

Two of those days are weekend days though. They'll fly by regardless.

(Assuming you're off school/work on Saturday and Sunday. I am at least. :D)

Because people are still high on the Mario Kart 8 stuff. So Nintendo is building up excitement for the WiiU with their games.
It makes perfect sense and something they've been needing to do for a while.
Plan out your news and releases so that you constantly have a good buzz. Never leave the fans wandering elsewhere.

I just keep trying to walk through the logic of having a Smash specific direct in April? Why not a more predictable MK8 direct for April since it is releasing at the end of May? And if smash isn't coming out until fall/late fall then what is the point of having a game specific direct this early? Why not save all this smash info for E3? There are a few conclusions I am drawing from all this info.....
1. Smash is releasing earlier than most have anticipated (although myself and some other believers have always held out for a summer release!)
2. Nintendo actually has quite a few surprises up their sleeves to fully fill out an E3 without a large smash presence in their presentation of E3 demo.
3. If one and two are true, we might have some large titles releasing this winter that will be announced at E3.

My logic is sound, but what do ya'll think?

There's definitely more that Nintendo has to reveal than people are aware of. There always is. I do think Smash could be a late Summer title right now, with someone else planned for the holidays. What it could be, though, is anyone's guess.

Thanks to the backlash over Brawl among the competitive community, you can now pay $0.99 to temporarily have the ability to wavedash.

$0.99 for shortsighted investor assist trophy.*
