I'd love a Steele case, I'd love a diorama of a battle between 4 characters even more though.

Currently Nintendo charge about £60 for the limited edition Mario Kart. I'd happily pay that for some sort of LE Smash.

Xenoblade was a large enough hit that Nintendo is giving X some rather strong promotion. Shulk in Smash is hardly out of the question.

Those are stages, not full-blown characters, and from well-established franchises at that.

I've heard the theory that Square might not even fully own some of the FF redesigns in Kingdom Hearts because the contract they signed is so biased toward Disney. The theory follows that this is why Square doesn't make a straight-up FF world.

Sakurai wasn't "caught" doing anything -- he was simply visiting the studio. Sakurai explicitly said that people shouldn't look into his Tweets for cryptic Smash Bros. hints. There are dozens of plausible reasons as to why Sakurai would visit Platinum that don't involve a playable W101 character. There are actually a bunch of Tweets from early 2012 of Sakurai visiting various studios. He was probably looking to gather additional staff for Smash Bros.

To be fair, Final Fantasy is seen in virtually every weapon, item, ability, and other little nuance of Kingdom Hearts' battle system, sans the archaic turn based stuff. Couple that with the plethora of cameo's from the characters, some even having larger story lines than disney characters, I think it's a fair trade off even with a FF world. Legal stuff aside.

Also Sakurai and Kamiya are friends. Sakurai and Iwata are friends. There's a decent chance Iwata had Sakurai go talk to Kamiya about The Wonderful 101, see if they need any support from Nintendo, have lunch, and then come back to work on his own games.

Dixie Kong, Ridley, Little Mac and Mewtwo? You sir are truly the king of kings! The only thing I could possibly add is Sukapon and that would be my dream roster. Well I'd miss K Rool but even with his gadgets and costumes he's just a bit generic to me design wise. I like him but not nearly as much as the heroes in Donkey Kong.

Ok so guys get this, I've got some Bowser info that guys on Smash Boards were discussing. Though even there not many seem to be talking about it.

Bowser takes repeated hits from Mega Man on his shell and has zero reaction from it! He just keeps whaling away on Mac! Now unless Mega Man's properties have changed since E3 Bowser has some sort of Hit Stun resistance on his back! For such a big target this is just what the doctor ordered! Isn't this great?!

Now then like Pikachu's Thunder seen in the original trailer, Mega Man's Mega Buster could have changed. So far though it looks like Bowser is getting buffed like no other!

The article says Sakurai was visiting "in order to get a sneak peak at the studio's games ahead of E3." We know Sakurai gets input from the Game Freak and other companies for characters. It's best to assume this didn't involve Smash Brothers in the slightest. Although, to say W101 is unlikely because the game bombed is a bit stretching. If the series is in, it would have been before the game released.
